Newsie
The next season of dramas is on its way! In addition to stills of the first table reading for MBC‘s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Scholar Who Walks the Night,” SBS has released its own script reading stills for its upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, "High Society" (formerly known as "Chaebol's Daughter" and "True Romance"). "High Society" evolves around a rich woman who is willing to give up everything for love and a poor man to whom love is only a step up the ladder to a higher status. Uee plays the female lead, Jang Yoon Ha, and Sung Joon the male lead, Choi Joon Ki. Park Hyung Shik and Im Ji Yeon round out the lead cast, playing the role of Yoo Chang Soo and Yi Ji Yi, respectively. Yoo Chang Soo is the youngest son of a chaebol family who has never even tied his own shoelaces while Yi Ji Yi is a young woman who has never let go of her optimism and kindness despite her difficult circumstances. Park Hyung Shik and Im Ji Yeon are said to have perfectly portrayed their sometimes comical and sometimes sweet relationship during the script reading. Go Doo Shim, Yoon Joo Sang, Yoon Ji Hae, Yoo So Young, and more are cast in supporting roles, bringing their long-honed acting skills and naturalness to the drama. This "mystery, youth melodrama," set to portray the meaning of true love, follows "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," premiering on June 8 on SBS.
