On the afternoon of October 7, at a Media Day event for “Tomorrow Cantabile,” Joo Won revealed that he had personally recommended actress Shim Eun Kyung for the role of Seol Nae Il in “Tomorrow Cantabile.” “At first, when I hadn’t thought of Shim Eun Kyung, I was concerned with who could play the role of Seol Nae Il. It’s not my decision to make, but once I thought of Shim Eun Kyung, I really wanted to do the drama with her,” the actor said. “I thought she would be able to pull off the character well, and of course, seeing a clip of one of her scenes, she was really good.” Joo Won continued, “Shim Eun Kyung is a huge fan of ‘Nodame Cantabile,’ as well as dramas, animations, and classical music, so she’s a good fit to Seol Nae Il.” When asked about what it’s like doing a drama with the actress, Joo Won replied that she is a great source of energy. “The set has to be enjoyable for the actors to do well, and the ‘Tomorrow Cantabile’ set is just like that. Even if we are up all night, we’re talking and laughing.” In related news, Joo Won recently revealed in a press conference for the drama that he dropped six kilograms for his role, going from 75 to 69 kilograms. He said that after “Good Doctor” ended and he was just doing shows, he would walk in his free time, going for two or three hours, as well as lift weights. “Tomorrow Cantabile,” based off of the original Japanese work “Nodame Cantabile,” will air its first episode on October 13.
