T-ara to Pay Over $350K to Chatelaine in Damages for Bullying Controversy

The after effects of T-ara's bullying controversy in 2012 is continuing till this day.

T-ara's agency Core Contents Media has lost its suit against the fashion company Chatelaine to cancel the promissory note it wrote pledging to return 400 million KRW (~368,000 USD) for contract termination when the T-ara bullying scandal tainted the group's image in 2012. T-ara signed with Chatelaine in March 2012 and the bullying scandal erupted in July of that year. After that, Core Contents settled with Chatelaine by writing a promissory note pledging to pay pack twice the endorsement fee, totaling 400 million KRW as a penalty for breach of contract.

Then Core Contents Media sued Chatelaine to cancel the promissory note since Chatelaine kept using T-ara as models  on various advertisement products for about two months after the promissory note was written. The court ruled in favor of Chatelaine on September 6, 2013 stating that, "The defendant [Chatelaine] couldn't use T-ara anymore as models since negative press kept on coming out after the settlement. The defendant's image could have actually been more damaged because it had kept on using T-ara as its models. The defendant couldn't take down the various advertisement products because it didn't have time or the money."

Core Contents Media's rep stated that it didn't have any further plans regarding this suit.
