The multi-talented Rain said that he’d perform a hot dance for the fans if the movie was successful. It was the first cooperation between Crystal and Rain and she praised Rain for his cleverness. Like a bashful fan facing her idol, Crystal offered to treat Rain a dinner in Beijing. On the other hand, Rain revealed that he had been so bedazzled by her beauty when he first met her at the studio that he had forgotten her lines.

Thanks for all the updates. I watched this the other day and really enjoyed it. LYF did a great job portraying XL. Although the movie wasn't perfect, it was a good watch.

Had a chance to watch this recently.

Do not read if you don't want to be spoiled and don't take to negativity

Liu Yi Fei is magnificent as the troubled and flawed XL. I have not been keeping up with her work as of late, having only bad memories of her acting but somewhere along the line, she has really matured as an actress and has improved leaps and bounds. Perhaps it was the low expectations but she really stood out.

Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Rain. Even though he played the 'nicer' of the two characters, he's character comes off as limpid and weak. His 'romantic' gestures lacks heart, this is part director's fault, part the couple's lack of chemistry and as well as the actors inability to portray the supposed all consuming love and admiration he has for the love of his life.

There in lies the biggest issue between the actors, they are both portraying different points in a relationship, while our lead girl is dealing with a more 'adult' love our hero is firmly stuck  in a puppy love stage. Perhaps it was the male characters idealistic belief that created such a juvenile impression, it would be more in line with his 'artistic' pursuit and the general belief that money is the root of all unhappiness. but than that's reading in between the lines.

He's 'change' towards the later half of the film was unbelievable but at least it gave his character some much needed edge, unfortunately it was too little too late.

Perhaps the film would have been better if we spent more time in the fallout rather than the blissful beginnings, and would most definitely benefit from removing some secondary characters and instead focus solely on your leads and give them time to grow.

Altogether this is not a bad film, its not a great film, but it is decent.

The leads are great to look at and our leading lady does offer some very explosive scenes, but outside of that the film lacks proper direction, the editing is all over the place and unnecessary characters drag the film even further. Watch if you're a fan only.

I've just go to see this movie recently. Love it although I have to say Koreans would have do better on the tearjerking/melo asepct of the film. This is actually my first mainland romantic film, so I can't help but compares it to all the Korean romantic films which I'm too familiar with. I think the film would've been quite different if Kwak Jae-young directed it ) Just my wild imagination. Anyway, on a side note, Crystal Liu was my first celebrity crush back when I was still only, like 13?? Hahaha. I watched Condor Hero and fell in love with her.  :-/
