Kim Woo-bin and Lee Hyun-woo become professional Con Artistsby girlfriday | October 31, 2014 | 17 Comments

Professionals4.jpgProfessionals4a.jpg

Is it just me or did this movie happen very quickly? Obviously I’m not going to complain when it means we get more Kim Woo-bin (Heirs) — maybe it’s just because he’s in so many projects lately that they’re all starting to blur together. Here’s a peek at the posters and stills for his new caper flick Con Artists (which is supposedly the international title they’re going with — we’ve called it Professionals in previous posts), costarring the adorable Lee Hyun-woo (To the Beautiful You) and the always funny Go Chang-seok(Records of a Night Watchman).

The ensemble heist movie comes from director Kim Hong-sun of the hit thriller Traffickers, and includes cast members Kim Young-chul (IRIS 2), Jo Yoon-hee (Nine), Im Joo-hwan (Watch Out for Fools), and Shin Gu (God’s Gift–14 Days). They make up a group of highly skilled professionals who are recruited for one big score.

The story takes place at the Port of Incheon, where the security at customs is boasted about as being the best of the best. Kim Young-chul plays a gang boss who hires the crew to steal a 150-billion-won take in under 40 minutes, and the team plans a dangerous heist that turns the organized crime world upside-down.

Kim Woo-bin stars as the master safecracker who learned everything he knows from veteran Shin Gu. Lee Hyun-woo is the genius hacker who can break into any server, and Go Chang-seok is Kim Woo-bin’s partner who plans operations and recruits the rest of the team. I really like a good heist movie when it’s done well — The Thieves disappointed me on that front, because no matter how shiny the cast, it wasn’t the classic caper film that I wanted it to be. I hope this one sticks to the basics and gives us a satisfying swindle.

Con Artists hits theaters in December.

Kim Woo Bin & Lee Hyun Woo ʺCriminal Designerʺ Heating Up Theaters in December

745263a200d1aef90378b18ff673590f.jpg

The teaser trailer of the movie "Criminal Designer" was released for the first time as its release date was confirmed to be in December.

"Criminal Designer" is about criminal designers in different fields gather together to rob 150 billion Won
of black money within 40 minutes from the super-secure Incheon customs facility. Kim Woo Bin, Ko Chang Suk, and Lee Hyun Woo appear as best criminal designer in each field, and raise audience's curiosity.

In the released teaser trailer, the young and energetic side of the designers were shown. They break in with masks on, open the safe by only touch, and disable the security system by hacking. The dynamic chasing scenes and the operation that goes on in huge Incheon customs show the scale of the movie.

The acting of lead actors is also something to pay attention to. Kim Woo Bin, the safe expert, is very laid back, human expert Ko Chang Suk is very funny, and hacking expert Lee Hyun Woo's eyes look very sharp.

Kim Young Chul creates tension with just one line, "Come do something big for me," he shows charisma as he is calling in different "criminal designers" into his project.

"Criminal Designer" is confirmed to be exported to 4 countries in Asian film market, even before domestic release.

First teaser for big-stakes heist movie Con Artistsby girlfriday | November 7, 2014

ConArtists17.jpg

Glad to see that the caper in Con Artists (Professionals, or whatever you want to call it) is off to an action-packed start. The first teaser is out, and lead actors Kim Woo-bin(Heirs) and Lee Hyun-woo (To the Beautiful You) are pretty adorable in it. Do they seem like the leaders of a gang of thieves who are going to turn the underworld topsy-turvy? Maybe not so much — they’re a little too pretty for that. (I can’t believe I’m complaining about that. What am I saying?)
