Posts I'd love to promote

I saw a post today that I immediately wanted to "promote" only to discover that the function has been permanently disabled. So I decided to try this instead - create a thread with links to posts that I would have promoted if I could. I hope that other legends and immortals might help populate it, thus building a repository of comments and posts that are above the run of the mill in their content and/or delivery. The one that triggered this decision is short and simple, but with a message I emphatically agree with:
