Screen Recording programs

Hi,

Does anyone know a good free program to do on screen recording? 
For example, if I wanted to record a tutorial on how to use excel from my computer screen.I need it to record the sound from the video directly that is playing, not from what is coming out of the speakers.
When I googled screen recording top 2 results I got were CamStudio and Screencast-O-Matic. Are these good? Any recommendations?

Camstudio is alright I used it in the past. I heard http://fraps.com/ is good as well, but it is more for gaming, but it may work for Excel as well.
