Actor Yoo Yeon Seok is currently in talks for the Hong Sisters‘ upcoming drama, “Jejudo Gatsby” (working title).

According to broadcast industry insiders, the actor has been offered the leading role and is currently considering it. If he accepts it, it will be his first drama role in two years since the hit “Reply 1994.”

Previously, it was reported that Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora were in talks for the leading roles in the drama. 

Yoo Yeon Seok was offered the role of protagonist Baek Gun Woo, a restaurant owner and a chaebol heir. Although not officially announced, Kang Sora is a strong candidate to be the lead in the drama. If she accepts, she will play his love interest, Lee Jung Joo, a working-class girl struggling to support her family on Jeju Island.

The drama will follow “Angry Mom” and is expected to premiere on MBC in May.

Yoo Yeon Seok And Kang So Ra To Play The Leads Of New Drama

[by Sora Ghim] Actor Yoo Yeon Seok and Kang So Ra have come together for a heart-warming ‘Hong Sister’ romantic comedy!

Yoo Yeon Seok and Kang So Ra have been confirmed to play the leads in upcoming MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Agreeably Warm (literal translation).’

A new drama by the famous Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun, Hong Mi Ran), it will start airing in May after the end of ‘Angry Mom.’ ‘Agreeably Warm’ is about chef Baek Gun Woo and employee at the general affairs department of a clothing agency Lee Jung Joo. This will be the first time the two actors will play lovers.

This romantic comedy is loosely based on the grasshopper and the ant, portraying an exasperated ant with a grasshopper that lacks affection. Taking place on the beautiful island of Jeju, it occurs around the restaurant ‘Agreeably Warm.’

Firstly, Yoo Yeon Seok plays the part of Baek Gun Woo, a man that has everything that a woman wants in a man: good looks, eloquence, and a gentle manner. Although he’s the grasshopper type who only does things he wants to do, his honest personality is his charm. A clever man who knows his assets, he is unexpectedly innocent, opening a restaurant in Jeju Island just because the woman he likes is there.

Kang So Ra will transform into Lee Jung Joo, a woman who has struggled and worked hard all her life but never has a break, resulting in exasperation. She plays the grouchy ant in the fable. She puts up a front of confident and pride but is actually weak and delicate. Never missing a day of work during the 5 years at her company, she starts a new life in Jeju Island after losing her job, house, and boyfriend in Seoul.

Combing the best actors and scriptwriters, people already anticipate the drama. The producers complimented the actors saying, “Yoo Yeon Seok and Kang So Ra are perfect for the parts of Baek Gun Woo and Lee Jung Joo.” They continued, “Please anticipate and take a lot of interest in this fantastic harmony of the energy-filled young actors Yoo Yeon Seok and Kang So Ra, and the dependable ‘Hong Sisters’ scriptwriters along with PD Park Hong Kyun.”

I saw Koala's blog post and it says that she already has, but I haven't come across any other articles claiming so. I hope it's already a done deal. I sense that she'll have amazing chemistry with Yoo Yeon Seok.  :x

Yoo Yun Suk and Kang So Ra confirmed for Hong sisters' drama 'Feeling Good'

First, Kim Woo Bin turned down the offer to be in the Hong sisters' new drama, 'Feeling Good.'  Then, Rain was revealed to be reviewing the very same offer.  Now, it seems that actor Yoo Yun Suk from the popular 'Reply 1994' series has finally taken up the role! Joining him will be Kang So Ra.

The MBC production crew stated on March 25, "Yoo Yun Suk and Kang So Ra are finally confirmed to appear as the male and female leads."

It will be a romantic comedy that takes place at a restaurant on the Jeju Island with the same name as the drama.  Yoo Yun Suk will be coming out as the restaurant's owner and chef named Baek Gun Woo while Kang So Ra will be a five-year employee at the general affairs department of a clothing agency named Lee Jung Joo.  

The production company, Bon Factory, stated that not only did the two have the visuals but they also had the youthful energy, asking for a lot of expectations for their fantastical harmony with Producer Park Hong Gyoon.
