Actress Kang Sora shed tears during an interview she recently had regarding her drama “Misaeng.”

“This is the first time I entrusted myself to the project without any greed. There wasn’t anything in the script that didn’t make sense to me, so I only had the ‘pleasant’ worry of how to act out the role. I chose this role because I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it if it wasn’t now, and I wasn’t expecting the reactions to be so great. I felt like all my difficult times until now were all paid off at once.”

Kang Sora’s character in “Misaeng,” Ahn Young Yi, was a talented intern with a lot of potential who struggled against the patriarchal system. To study her role, Kang Sora even tried going to a corporate workplace.

During the interview, she talked about how she kept her hair long, as opposed to the original webtoon character, who had her hair short. “In the webtoon, she has short hair, but I chose long hair for the drama. In the flashback sequence, she has short hair, and it represents Young Yi’s desire to be acknowledged by her father. Her having long hair now represents that she has cut ties with her father. Young Yi seems perfect, almost surreally so, but she’s bad at interpersonal relationships and you can say that it’s because of her father. She had a lot of wounds on the inside.”

Q: The Chinese fans want to see Kang Sora 's wearing Hanbok.  Also, everyone wants to see you in the variety show "Running Man". 

A: A historical drama, I always want to do it but I needs to get myself ready at first. Also, being a part of the drama , it needs a lot of support. So if I'm good enough, I want to try it as well. Moreover, I do like "Running Man". 

 

Q: In Korea, Kang Sora takes care of herself/ her body and being a successful actress. We would like to know how do you take care of yourself/ your body?  

A: I try not to put pressure on the body. I do not have anything's special. Just have properly eating , doing an exercise correctly. That's all.  This is the easiest way and it's most difficult as well. Well, i always have positive thinking and do a lot of exercise.   

 

Q: There are many Chinese fans who are curious about your relationship with Super Junior :Leeteuk after filming  WGM. Do you recently contact him ? 

 A: We keep in touch. We have good relationship like colleague , as a junior and senior. When i was in Maldives , i also received an invitation to the Super Show concert but I couldn't make it due to my schedule. Unfortunately, I didn't attend. 

 

Q: Do you have plan to filming a movie? In the future, do you think what role is challenging you and making you want to play?

A: I have no plan right now.  I use all of my energy to filming this drama. If I have a chance, I wish to play as in "Begin Again" movie which 's related to music and love. 

 

Q: You've been filming with many actors. Who is your ideal type guy?

A: I do not have any ideal guy. I just think that people who have close relationship , will become to be my ideal guy later. Well, it's also hard to having time together because It will be busy to us if we are both actor/actress. So it is not easy to get close to each other. My ideal is a guy who's very close to me, a person who will do whatever we do and never get to bored with.  

 

Q: In previous interview, Lee Jong Suk chose Kang Sora as best friend of the opposite gender , what do you think about it?

A: During the filming Dr.Stranger , we talked a lot. Also it's quit busy on that time , the we promised to eating and drinking tea together after it ended. I think it's empty plan and i din't even think we could do it. Before we became friends. I think he is a handsome actor. Also we are the same age. There are a lot of things that I learned from him. Hopefully we are good friends.

All of the newbies at One International in “Misaeng” had their struggles, but Ahn Young Yi may have had the worst situation. Faced with a hierarchy that resented her for being a woman (and a talented, intelligent woman, at that!), Young Yi endured so much abuse that I wanted nothing more than to skip her painful scenes. But I couldn’t, because then I would have missed Kang So Ra’s quiet, alert performance. Kang had this wonderful way of expressing Young Yi’s determination and backbone, even as she was willing to act as a glorified servant to her male coworkers. That glint of steel, combined with a sly sense of humor, made this performance one of my favorites of the year. -rughydrangeaSOOMPI NEWS
