Guest emdi
I love k-movies! But I have to admit I haven't watch some of the ones listed in this thread. But I strongly recommend the following according to their genres. A- thriller - Blood Rain (excellent plot of who dunnit, excellent acting: you wouldn't recognise the famours actors cos of their costume and excellent characterization!) B- comedy - Dharma 1, Dharma 2 (this is where I discovered brilliant comedians and Park Shin Yang). You must watch Dharma 2 and look out for the "silent monk". If he doesn't crack you up, you're one hard nut to crack!) C- romantic comedy - Marrying the Mafia (all 3 are really funny!), Sassy Girl, My tutor friend (my first K-movie so 'm including it), She's on duty, S-diary (Both showcase the comic brilliance of Kim Suh Na!), Beautiful liar (or something like that. I lov the comic situation here), Mr Housewife (I laughed and cried!) Then there are those that are pretty good (not wonderful but enjoyable enough to watch) : Looking for Mr Prefect, He's cool, 200lb beauty (but I love Kim Bong Soo's cameo appearance as the cab driver!!!! He also made an apperance in She's on duty as the luckless Maths tutor!), My wife's a gangster 1-3, My tutor my boss........endless.. Koreans make good comedic movies!!!! D- kungfu - K-kungfu movies are not as good as HK ones. So stick to the chinese ones. E- science fi : The Host (hyped up but enjoyable even for some one like me who don't particularly enjoy moster flick F- romance/tragedy : (Not my cup of tea but I thought ) Moment to Remeber and The Classic (was good), Innocent Steps (or something like that was good too) So happy k-movie watching..... Guest Malice_Kaiser
ANYTHING directed by Park Chan Wook (Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance...) Korea has the best horror movies too. A Tale of Two Sisters, Red Shoes, the Wishing Stairs trilogy... Oh. And I loved the movie Attack the Gas Station. So weird. roneddski
My favorite ones include: A Moment to Remember Art of Seduction The Classic and i jus realised they all star Son Ye Jin! I didnt really like Windstruck as much, though i like the storyline in Daddy's Long Legs. 200 Pounds of Beauty is good too. anybody watched Beautiful Sunday or A Day For An Affair? wondering whther they are worth watching... Guest Tone
hmm.. my ever favorite is windstruck.. made me cry a lot.. i also like a millionaire's first love. hyun bin was amazing.. windstruck was pretty bad, i mean it was very good in a sense, but i feel the director stretched it out way too much. (i don't wanna go into detail due to spoiling the entire movie to those who hasn't yet watched) but i totally agree with you on 'millionaires first love' as thats my favorite korean movie ;]
