About : A representative of MBC Plus Media revealed, “We will be making a reality program that exhibits stars rehearsing and improving their dance skills. It will begin airing in the same time slot as ‘The Great Rebirth‘, and we currently have 12 weeks of episodes planned.”

They continued, “We have confirmed the show in our line-up and are currently in discussions for the cast and other details. Because there needs to be time set aside for rehearsals and such, casting celebrities is proving to be quite an intensive process.”

4minute’s HyunA has been confirmed for MBC’s new reality show, “Dancing with the Stars“.

The announcement was made on May 20th, and the idol is now waiting for her first recording. She will be joining actor Kim Young Chul, model Jessica Gomes, weather-caster Park Eun Ji, professional baduk player Lee Seul Ah, actress Kim Gyuri, singer Kim Jang Hoon, singer Moon Hee Jun, vocalist Kim Dong Gyu, marathoner Lee Bong Joo, and announcer Oh Sang Jin as part of the 11-member cast.

Each person will be paired with a dance specialist to compete in a dance competition. The MCs for the show will be actor Lee Duk Hwa and model Lee Sora.

“Dancing with the Stars” is scheduled to broadcast its first episode on June 10th.

please give me a stars' salad. toss in comedians, idol singers, championship athletes, retired celebs, and fashion icons in the mix, and this will give you drama.

i can't wait to watch this. it's a no brainer, give this show 10 seasons the least.

Wow i'm really impressed with these celebrities. I watch the American version religiously every season, and they are never this good in the first episode. They are not professionals but they perform more than moderate.

It seems that KG had performed ballet as a child? Either way she did great on the Cha cha cha

OSJ was so self conscious when he was practicing, and doesn't look like he is much of a dancer. Something that clearly others had to their advantage. At one point he was literally dancing like Park Myun Soo. Yet he showed more confidence and danced better than expected. The jive was not perfect, but it was pretty good. He was so earnest in practice, that i think he can only do better from here.

PEJ seemed to need a lot of training during her practice sessions. No previous dancing skills at there either. I can't believe that her first dance was a tango though, one of the hardest to learn. I felt kind of sorry for her, because there was no way she was going to get any hard marks, without any previous skills in dancing, because it's all about the steps. She did ok though, and hopefully will get better because in this dance she came off a bit stiff.

but i thought the judges actually were a bit too good to her.

KYC has no prior dancing skills either, but he worked so hard and was so optimistic through all the grilling practice, i'm rooting for him a little bit. The waltz fit him perfectly, dignified and not about speed, but steps. He did so well in his performance, in no way perfect, but his posture was very good for his first time. The judges seem to agree with

LSG(?), no experience there either but she picked up a few of the steps quickly it seems. Since she is a gold medalist though, i can already see her working harder than any others during practice. The jive is a moderate in its difficulty, and she did good for her first time. Although her steps were just ok, she showed good acting skills on her performance and seem full of energy. She has to learn to let go though and give her dancing partner control.

MHJ looked like he had some dancing skills, but not much. Since he was dancing the cha cha cha, i was hoping that he give some moderate comedy relief and he did that in a very subtle way during his performance. I liked how he portrayed control of his partner which is vital in this dance, although it didn't happen right away, as he seemed a bit nervous in the beginning. He also brought a bit of his personality and flavor to the dance, which is something none of the others accomplished. For that alone i thought he did very well for his first time.

JG is not a dancer, but she has that Portuguese blood running though her(making her less stiff), and also some gymnastics and hip-hop skills it seems. I like the pairing just for visual alone, and if am not mistaken he may have a crush on her. Something i did not expect was how earnest she was about learning the dance, and how quickly she picked up the steps. I don't normally expect much for models, but i'm starting to change my views.

Her rumba is not an easy dance, much like the tango. But it was sexy and although not perfect, very well done. I actually think her performance was the best of the night, with her steps right on the mark at almost all times. Can't wait to see how much better she will get as the show progress.

LME(?), I always associate him with PSY. He's not a dancer at all, but his practicing sure made me laugh. If am not mistaken they danced the quickstep, which is so rigid that i felt sorry for him. His posture was horrible, and his movements were a bit behind. I found the performance comedic in a way, because this dance is clearly not for him. At one point he seem to have given up on himself and clearly knew there was no hope in this dance.

KDG with no dancing skills either, but he was perfect for the tango. Seemed to have picked the steps quickly (I'm staring to think the older gents are the hardest workers). Showed control in his performance, like a matador in his acting and demeanor! Even if the steps were not perfect, but good none the less.

LBJ makes me laugh just looking at him, he just has that kind of face. So i was curious about how he would perform, with no dancing skills and stuck with the waltz to boot. He tried his best at practice and seem to have picked up the dance though. His performance was good, although he was lacking just a bit of confidence that this dance needed to portray. You could tell she was not one leading instead of him, which shouldn't be the case. Very good execution for his first time, and with such a difficult dance.

Overall, i'm quite excited about this show and can't wait for next week.

HyunA with dancing experience got the quickstep; which i thought was perfect for her with speed as the most important point. She did remarkably good, with only minor mistakes, which i expected no less. I can't wait to see how she'll improve as the show goes on. Her charisma and energy came through in this dance, too bad the judges did not agree with me.

4minute’s HyunA promises to show greater effort on MBC’s “Dancing With the Stars”

On June 3rd, MBC’s new dance reality series, “Dancing With the Stars“, held its production press conference at the Grand Ambassador Seoul Hotel.

Led by MC Lee Duk Hwa and Lee Sora, contestants Park Eun Ji, Kim Gyuri, Jessica Gomes, Lee Seul Ah, 4minute’s HyunA, Kim Young Chul, Moon Hee Jun, and many others attended the event.

HyunA stated, “It’s an honor for me to be able to work with so many amazing people. As someone who loves dance, I promise to do my best. It’s a genre that I haven’t been in for long so it might be difficult, but I will work hard to show a better side of myself.”

“Dancing With the Stars” will begin airing at 9:55 PM KST starting on June 10th!

HyunA is thankful of the fans’ support for “Dancing with the Stars”

It was recently announced that 4minute’s HyunA would be participating in the Korean adaptation of popular reality TV show, “Dancing with the Stars“, where celebrities are paired up with dance specialists for various dance battles.

After the initial announcement, some backstage photos of the recording were tweeted by 4minute’s manager Hong Jin Taek. He wrote, “The cast and staff members thoroughly enjoyed the food that you have sent. Because HyunA is busy preparing for the broadcast, I uploaded these photos for her. HyunA was so thankful that she teared up… she’s so happy now that her stomach is full^^” Two pictures were uploaded along with the tweet, where HyunA’s cute and sexy charms are clearly evident.

HyunA tweets about her first “Dancing with the Stars” experience

4minute’s HyunA recently undertook her first recording for MBC’s “Dancing with the Stars“, and she intrigued fans with her reflective tweets.

On June 9th, HyunA tweeted, “Thank you so, so much to all the fans who cheered me on. There are many things I regret from today, but I will smile and do well, thank you!”

Fans showed their strong support as they commented, “I am looking forward to HyunA’s dance the most” and “I think because she’s a singer, her dancing will be different from the others.”

4minute’s HyunA performed on “Dancing With The Stars” despite her ankle injury

4minute’s HyunA wowed her fans after they discovered she performed on “Dancing With The Stars” with an ankle injury. The star reportedly sustained the injury while rehearsing at an SBS special concert, and was required to put on a cast.

But HyunA was determined to make a good impression on the show, and so she not only performed the full choreography for her routine, but did so without the cast. Her effort seems to have paid off, as she lived up to her title of being the most anticipated female dancer on the show.

She also never talked about her injury on air, and people weren’t able to catch that she was injured at all due to her fantastic performance.

Unfortunately, HyunA must keep the cast on for the next two to three weeks.

Cube Entertainment commented, “We are continuing treatment in case her injury gets worse. She has a lot of determination to do well, so she will be doing her best for all of her future performances.”

See, now that is how it should be done. I'm glad she did not make a fuss or talked about it during the show, letting viewers and judges rate her dancing alone. It's one of those things that had me rolling my eyes, because some of the younger celebrities are either complaining or act like they are practicing for the Olympics. If you thought your body couldn't take it, why go on the show? If you're there already, why not give it your all without complain, nobody forced you to go in the show!  

So big kudos to HyunA!
