After Bang-won’s breakdown, the two sit by a warming fire as he tells Boon-yi that he’s expecting a reply from Nameless regarding her mother. He’ll keep his promise to her about her mother and the land reform.

Boon-yi eyes him warily, knowing that something must’ve happened for him to suddenly be talking about promises and why they can’t play together anymore. Instead of answering her, Bang-won just asks her to say his name.

“Bang-won-ah,” she says. He sheepishly asks her again, and she obliges: “Bang-won-ah. Lee Bang-won.” At his happy smile, she asks what that was all about, only for him to tell her not to say his name like that again. Nor to use informal speech.
