YGE, "1 Million People have competed for BIGSHOW ticket"

YGE announced, "For the BIGSHOW which is going to be held from 25th to 27 next month, 40000 people are going to watch it at the Olympic Stadium but there were 1 million people rushing to reserve the tickets in the past 3 days.

On 18th, there were 250000 people, while on 19th, there were 300000 people and 450000 people on the last day competing for the tickets fiercely."

The spokesman further elaborated, "BIGBANG is popular in Japan and other Asian places. Domestic demand together with foreign market made the competition more fierce than their concerts held before." 

BIGBANG is gong to release their new album on 24th next month after a two-year break.

They will then have their comeback stage in the concert.

Currently, the members are having their solo activities. G-Dragon and TOP are promoting their Duet album and Seungri has also started his solo activities.

[News] Big Bang 40,000-seater concert a complete sellout

Boy band Big Bang's upcoming annual concert, set to accomodate some 40,000 fans, has soldout after attracting over one million people rushed to a website to grab tickets, according to the group's agency YG Entertainment on Friday.

A press release by YG revealed today that the tickets, sold in three separate rounds from Tuesday to Thursday on online shopping and reservation site G-Market, attracted 250,000 fans the first round, then 300,000 the next round and 450,000 the final time.

Big Bang's "2011 BIG SHOW" is set to be staged at Seoul's Gymnastic Stadium of the Olympic Park from February 25 to 27.

Big Bang members expressed their gratitude for the enthusiastic response for their upcoming concert through the statement and added they have been preparing a lot for both the upcoming concert.

Most importantly, the concert will mark Big Bang's much-anticipated return to the K-pop music scene for the first time in over two years -- their third full-length album will be released on February 24.

Big Bang is currently active through its unit activities composed of duo G-Dragon and T.O.P and solo Seungri under which both teams have released their first albums titled "GD&T.O.P" and "VVIP," respectively.

Known as one of the biggest idol names in the country, the group composed of members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Seungri, Daesung and Taeyang, had released a number of smash-hit songs which swept music charts for several weeks.

Then in the summer of 2009, Big Bang crossed over to the Japanese music market where several of their singles placed in the top slots of the prestigious Oricon chart.

Starting May, they will hold a nationwide tour where they are expected to perform for a total 160,000 fans.

OH MY GOD. Korean VIPs are so lucky. If I was in Korea I would end up just following them on tour and attending all their performances! I'm hoping it's towards the end of May though. I want them to promote for about 2 months! To be honest though, the promotional run of an album in korea lasts very long nowadays with new songs coming out all over the place and the songs themselves being "forgettable" in the scene after a while.

I'm so glad that they're holding a national tour because they'll be able to get into touch with their korean fans once again.

i remember when i first came to KPOP 2008 , WOW BIGBANG everywhere On Internet , 2 cable channel Ariang and KBS , CF , Music bank, i liked "What the heck is that, how come just one group appear on all media" LOL then 2009 i watched FO , i saw how hyori and yejin Crush on GD =)), My pen pal told me that, they were phenomenon, from the old-> to young, Boys and girls loved them. ^i'm not really familiar as how much do kpop artists sell usually, so are those sales ok?

anyway after listening to his album for two days, i love Magic the most. i'm glad YG gave the opportunity for him to turn this into a mini album instead of a single since i noticed more people love/appreciate the non-title tracks more i love every track in the mini and i love how balanced it is as a whole. i'm happy with the mvs production too, but i must be in the minority that love VVIP (as a song) more than What can i do lol.

Hanteo only counts physical album sales bought from retailers that are associated with Hanteo therefore it does not 100% represent the amount of physical albums sold. But it is a pretty good sales indicator and it's the best out there. Plus the information from Hanteo is what is used in end of year award ceremonies etc.
