When do you use kanji, when do you use hiragana and when do you use katakana when writing or speaking?

#1 You can not use any of the three while speaking, rofl

Hiragana is the main alphabet, and you can write nearly everything in that. Words can be shortened with kanji, as well as given different meanings for the same word with different kanji (e.g. あつい、　厚い、　熱い all say Atsui; however the first is in hiragana, and you would have to tell what it meant by the context. The second (厚い) means thick, while the third (熱い) means hot.)

Katakana is used for like, import-words LOL. What I mean by that is, words more or less 'borrowed' from English and such; like say FOOTBALL (フットボール), SUPERMARKET (スーパー）, etc.

久しぶりにsoompi　に来たんだ～

私は去年日本に行って、一年間で大阪の大学で勉強した～

もしかしたら「好い」は「よい」と読むんじゃない？　YOIとコンピュータで入力すると「好い」は漢字の選択肢の一つとして出てくるし

「好い」は「良い」と意味も読み方も同じだと思うけど語源はどうか知らない。。そういう風に使われるのもあんまり見たことない

方言だからもちろん全く間違ってるかもしれないけどな

[is 米国 correct? I found that out from an online dictionary. The Chinese spell 米国 as 美國 or 美国. Sometimes the Koreans use Chinese characters and they spell it as 美國 (미국) too.]

This is my cousin and sisters. We use to be close. He's in the army. They're all more than 10 years older than me. And this is my family. Very small. It's fun though! We got camping often. Like this, with a lot of people. This is me when I was little. Wasn't I cute? I had a cinderella cake for my birthday.

米国 is used in more formal contexts..usually it's just アメリカ (amerika), almost all countries except korea and china are spelled using katakana

今年、私と妹はやすみはオーストラリと一緒に行く事にしました。

This year, my sister and I decided to go to Australia together for a holiday.

オーストラリアは二番目の旅行だから、どこで所が一番いいかしりました。

Because this was my second trip to Australia, I knew where the best places were.

妹はゴールドコーストのツアーに行きたい、でも私はゴールドコーストはつまらなくて暑い過ぎと思いました。

My sister wanted to go on a Gold Coast tour, but I thought the Gold Coast was too boring and hot.

When we arrived at the Sydney airport, we met our tour guide.

After that, we were free to do as we liked, so we went to a cinema called 'Imax'.

さいごの日、朝食を食べた後で、、観光旅行【かんこうりょこう】に行きました。

On the last day after eating breakfast, we went on a sightseeing tour.

おみやげを買えたし、ダーリングハーバーやオペラハウスを見えたし、このシドニー旅行ほんとうよかったですよ。

I was able to buy souvenirs and additionally, be able see Darling Harbour and the Opera house so this Sydney trip was very good.

I don't know if you'll be writing this out but most people don't use the 其 kanji for それ

観光旅行 is more like a trip, like when you're visiting multiple cities, what you're doing right now is basically a 観光旅行. You can just say 観光しに行きました
