Official: Vanness Wu Jian Hao thread

The battle for the ratings between the weekend idol dramas is intensifying, and in order to try and get an edge over the other, the Sanlih-TTV idol drama <Autumn Concerto> has an upcoming rape scene, while the CTV-GTV production <Momo Love> which goes on air today, had one of the main leads Huang Jing-lun do a flash mob-style street performance yesterday, in order to hype up viewers for the drama.

<Autumn Concerto> has been on top of the rankings lately. In the drama, A-cai (Chen Mu-yih) chances upon Liang Mu-chen (Ady An) playing the piano, and therefore the premise of the rape scene is set. Ady, who has already filmed 6 such scenes, is relatively experienced when it comes to scenarios like this.

She says: “I’m already used to filming scenes whereby I’m bullied, and they can be categorized into “Successful Bullying” and “Unsuccessful Bullying”; the last few experiences I’ve had was more of body contact and the actions were really big. But this time, the director has filmed it to be more artsy, and there will not be much physical contact. And A-cai is really too good, the mental stress he enforces upon me is greater than the physical contact, he doesn’t even need to move because his expressions are already scary enough.”

Ady feels scared about her scene, whereas co-star Vanness Wu is feeling the stress of hitting too many times. He laughingly says: “This damsel-in-distress scene was actually pretty tiring to film. In the past when I did movies, we usually discuss what we’d do with our moves first. But this time it’s different, and we were worried about hitting someone during the actual filming. So in the end I was just hitting the air, and now my arm’s really tired!”

The CTV-GTV idol drama <Momo Love> will air today at 10 PM. During a filming break yesterday, one of the main leads Huang Jing-lun specially did a flash mob-sque, KUSO version of 桃花舞春風 (T/N: some traditional dance..?) on the streets of Dongqu in Taipei. In regards to it being his time performing on the streets, and also the one activity that he is not proficient at, Huang Jing-lun said: “This is the craziest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life!”

10 fans joined in with the dancing, and Huang Jing-lun got so caught up in the fun of the dance that he promised that if the ratings break 4, then he would do another street performance in a bikini. However, the criterion is that he has to wear the bikini over his clothes, before he’ll actually do it.

When asked about how he feels towards the ratings, Huang Jing-lun replied that he was very relaxed, and answered lightheartedly: “I’m confident in this drama, and all of us will be responsible for each rating point that we get!”

Has his new drama been doing good ratings wise?

I think it's going very well with the ratings, cause i just read a piece of news about Ken Zhu (F4 member) and this was said about the drama Autumn's Concerto:

''The latest episode of ongoing Taiwanese idol drama Autumn's Concerto scored a record-breaking number of viewers. In it, fellow F4 bandmember Vanness Wu heroically rescued his leading lady from a rapist. The ratings for that episode also surpassed those of Momo Love by 1.64 percent.''

Yesterday night, 'Autumn's Concert' broadcasted it’s 3rd episode. Although it met strong competitor 'Momo Love's premiere broadcast, the ratings were unaffected, and even rose by 0.34. Although it is still a little far off the rating of 4.54 in Vanness Wu's dream, but it still reached a very good result of 3.59.

Yesterday afternoon, 'Autumn's Concerto' main cast specially held a signing event at Bi Tan. To prepare for the exciting scene of 'Vanness Wu vs. Tiffany Hsu basketball PK’ that would air later that night, the organisers specially arranged a basketball shooting game for the cast and fans. Vanness Wu, Ady An & Chris Wu each chose 2 fans to come onstage to join them. Chris was definitely feeling it and he came out top with 22 goals in 1 minute. And as the winner, he won very expensive gifts for the fans in his team. Ady & Vanness followed, with 21 & 17 goals, respectively. Although the other 4 fans didn’t get to win a prize, they each won a 'love's hug' from Vanness & Ady as encouragement.

Earlier, there were rumours that Vanness had a dream about ratings. He expressed: “In my dream, I saw some numbers, but when I woke up, I couldn’t remember exactly what the numbers were. I think it was either 3.43 or 4.54!” And this made Ady, who was beside him joke: “3.43 is too easy! Last week we got 3.25, so it should be 4.54 right?” And Ady also promised: “If ratings break 5.66, then Chris Wu will jump off Bi Tan!” And earlier, the ratings were revealed, and it rose to 3.59, completely unaffected by the premiere broadcast of 'Momo Love'.

Director Winnie You’s new drama 'Momo Love' has a lot of handsome guys and girls in his cast, and hence attracted a lot of attention before broadcast, however the ratings for the first episode was only 1.95. Whether or not it can beat 'Autumn's Concerto', we shall have to wait and see.

Love this Autumn's Concerto especially the preview with the son. The Vanness and Ady(?) have such good chemistry together. \

Out of the few dramas/movies I've seen of his, I think this is his best acting yet.

I woke up this morning to texts, bbm’s of congrats…at first in my sleepy haze I was wondering what did I just do? Then as I read further…I realized that last nights ratings for the TV drama; Autumn’s Concerto reached #1 in all of TAIWAN…Wow…

Thank You God for blessing me with this love, I feel from You through this experience of hard work, long days, long nights, sleepless hours. This is a true blessing, I am deeply humbled. Thank you to all the supporters, fans around the world. I know you guys are watching, we all have worked so hard for this. Recently, VanNess Wu, Ady An, and others were acting in a court of law scene in Taipei for idol drama, <Autumn's Concerto>. VanNess Wu, who plays a lawyer, said laughingly that for this 12 page long court scene he was memorizing lines till he was afraid. He even dreamt that he was a lawyer in court helping a friend file a lawsuit.

In the drama, for Liang Mucheng (Ady An)'s innocence, Sheng De University called for a "Truth Investigation Court." Ren Guangxi (VanNess Wu) served as Liang Mucheng's lawyer in the court battle against Ah Cai Shu's (Chen Muyi) lawyer, Xu Fangguo (Zheng Youjie).

Due to VanNess Wu not being to familiar with written Chinese, plus the inclusion of some proper nouns, Director Chen Huiling was very heartwarming. She read the lines out loud and recorded it as a mp3 to give to VanNess Wu. Whenever he had a single moment, VanNess Wu would take it out to listen to. Even when he is in the gym, he would bring his iPod.

VanNess Wu said that he prepared for almost two months for this scene, memorizing lines till he was afraid. He even dreamt that he was a lawyer in court helping a friend file a lawsuit. This twelve page scene took three days to film. VanNess Wu said that while he was a bit afraid during filming, he felt very accomplished after the filming. It was a breakthrough for this acting career. Merely six years later in the drama, his first appearance is in a scene where is he also helping someone file a lawsuit. VanNess Wu is already waiting in cold sweat.
