first time poster in here...i think....don't quite remember if i've posted here before or not

o.O the pictures are really different from the korean version...oh well...

did anyone order the book from yesasia??

i was wondering if the book at yesasia is also a hardcover

cuz if it is a hardcover...$30 is so worth it!!!

Man I was on the verge of ordering that book when I first found out it was being released in English (which was 2 days before the actual release).

Then I remembered...I wasnt the one w/the credit card(s).

I asked my ma the other day if I could buy it and the answer was NO.

Im gonna get that book.

i could be wrong, but i'm assuming it'll also be hardcover;

i don't think anyone's received a paperback copy.

also, i know several people were talking about how they preferred the photographs in the korean edition

over the illustrations in the english one, and of course the photos are extremely well-taken,

but i honestly think that the ink drawings match perfectly with the stories,

and fit well with the mood of the book. i love the black theme of it.

I got my copy! Awesome.

The book is smaller than I thought it would be,

but also thicker than I thought it would be haha.

I haven't read it yet, but I'm anticipating a lot

since it is Tablo and since everyone here likes the stories.

I hope I won't be disappointed! :]

Did anyone else read the book? I really like Tablo's music and everything but I just finished all the stories up to Matchbox so far. They're sort of interesting stories and perspectives, but why are all the 'main' characters flat? like they're not fully developed and described so I feel really left out in how to understand more about the stories..

so i read it last night...

and really, i was disappointed. (i'm a #1 epik high fan ahah)

sure, it's a story. and its eloquent and it's an interesting enough story.

but i guess compared to the authors im used to reading, it wasn't good enough...

nevertheless, he was really yougn when he wrote this,

and im not saying this to discourage you guys.

I agree too.. I was wondering if it was cause he was really young or something so I was thinking I need to read till the end because that story is most recently written?

^ Well, I think he meant to write like that, you know?

He didn't concentrate on the characters, he concentrated on his writing/style of words and writing how he had felt at certain times/experiences. And they're short stories... not like novels. They were meant to be short, and with the type of expressions and words he chose, he wrote out simple, short sentences. I think THAT'S the beauty of his writing ^^

Oh, I got the book in Korea for a manwon.. which is actually pretty cheap I think.. it actually cost LESS than his Korean book and his Korean book isn't even hard cover lol

I thought the stories were very very well-written... sort of speechless, really. No, it wasn't the best thing I've read, but was I expecting it to be? No. Sure, Tablo is talented but you can't really expect it to be the best and for it to be the next classic (that's the feel I was getting from the previous comments).

And, in reality, the illustrations aren't bad at all. They're really nice, actually, but since I don't have the Korean version, I can't really compare them.

I just finished reading the book,

I don't know if it was because of I didn't really have any expectations but I actually really liked it, it's not the best thing that I've read but pretty high on my list there was some amount of some naiveness (imo) but I liked it, definitely worth reading

also, I have a question to everybody who have read the book, what type of books do you usually like (fantasy/suspense/horror/history..etc)? (sorry probably pretty off topic but I'm just curious...)

All right, because I've just been thrown off by the gURL forums with a comment I received, I must ask the Epik High fans on Soompi a question. Epik High is rap/hip-hop, yes or no? I know we've heard Tablo talk about rap and everything, then I get this:

epik high isnt considered rap or hiphop.. its considered reggae. just so you know.

I've never heard "reggae" once in my entire Epik High-liking lifespan, so I just want someone to help me make sure.

another update i found on the Epik High Livejournal

The tracklist is not true and March 30th is not the release date. As for the show with MYK and Kero One. You should continue to check www.mapthesoul.com which is their official site. It will open in March. Plus a new video should be up this week
