On April 10th, WOWOW aired the big South Korean music event “DREAM CONCERT 2010” in Japanand many Japanese K-pop fans were pleased to see the performances of many of their favorite Korean artists on TV.

Prior to the broadcast goo/NTT DoCoMo wanted to find out which K-pop artist their members were most curious about and yesterday they released the results of this mobile poll. The results shouldn’t be that surprising when looking at the current success of the various K-pop groups in Japan. Check out the complete ranking below.

(For those of you curious as to why TVXQ or Big Bang weren’t on the list, they picked the artists from the lineup that performed at DREAM CONCERT 2010).

ah, WG's the only girl group that I actually like. now that i think about it, WG was the first girl group I actually liked & the only girl group I currently like  i'm not the biggest wonderful, but idk why i always feel the need to support the girls because i want to see them do well and prove everyone wrong - especially with this American album coming out

I watched a downloaded copy of The Last Godfather last night.

If correct, WG appeared in the Korean release: the movie dialogue is in English but has Hangul hardsubs.

Yay, the girls got a couple of mentions in the end credits!

Taiwan's ETTV News has jumped on the Teen Vogue flak bandwagon too.

They mentioned the general thumbs-down fan response (didn't specifically mention the K-WFs), but also made a visual contrast between WG's 'exaggerated', 'cruder', etc. (paraphrased) stylings vs. SNSD's. Poor Sohee's singing ranking was also brought up at the end.

That time, Sun Mi's waist sz was only 21 inch while HyunA was 22 inch O_O

Sun Mi's waist sz is the same as KARA Hara in 2009, but seems like in 2007, nobody fuss about her super small waist sz lol

Now i believe Sun Mi's waist sz increase cuz in Irony day she was just 40-42 kg while now she's 50 kg. But now she look so much better right

China Times [Jiang Zhileng/ news summary] Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS of 'Nobody' fame is suffering a series of setbacks. Even the honor of appearing on the May issue of US fasgion magazine Teen Vogue has not resulted in national acclaim like Jay Chou has here [in Taiwan]. On the contrary, Korean netizens have criticized the group members' gaudy makeup & kaleidoscopic oufits as too obsolete: "It's just so artificial!"

WG is shuttling between Korea & America to record their new album. In cheerily tweeting makeup-less selcas of themselves, the quintet have attested that they don't rely on good looks alone to score points. They were dolled up for a magazine this time, involuntarily subjected to messy colored hair clips & kitschy outfits. The fans were loud in their despair at losing to the leggy & youthful-looking SNSD. Prior, WG had announced the news about the magazine photoshoot at their official site & also uploaded a concept photo. The quintet were dressed in colorful short skirts & stockings while adopting cute poses.

Some fans praised the girls for remaining beautiful, but many were more frank: "Can't recognize WG at all." They also criticized the new concept as "frumpy", & that the eye makeup & the outfits were too mismatched & artificial!
