grainsofrain : yep. i got the screen saver included when i first bought my NDS. im thinking about putting up another one tho. is it okay to use more than one screen saver ?

i see some of members here buy NDS games. but isn't there websites that provide games for free ? i check www.rom-freaks.net and download nintendogs there. it works on my NDS. soo~ do you think it's okay to download games like that ? will there be any virus or whatsoever that can harm my NDS ? ^^

anyway, what's the different of normal harvest moon and harvest moon : Island of Happiness ? I just played Harvest Moon Girl version and well~ it isnt really different from ps1. kindda boring~

last question :). When I want to download games, I find 'mirror' option. so what's that ?

「Sachiko」: oh well~ gotta download that games later! what's that games all about ?

muchh thanks !!!

does anybody use screen protectors for their ds?

Yeah, I do, I use the Hori screen protectors. I heard the cheap ones screws up your touch screen and makes it loose its sensitivity.

But my Hori ones protects my DS well, not one scratch on my DS :D

Because it's illegal to download games that you don't already own the original, thats pirating. Some people just prefer to go the legal way and purchase them so don't discourage them ^_^

The mirror is just a alternate location to download the rom incase the main one is down.

Well, I ordered the ones on ebay. But when I put them on, there's like "bubbles" underneath the screen. Basically, it's ruined now cause it's all linty. I realized I need to wipe down the NDS screen first or something :[.

I'll go look it up on ebay and get it since you recommended! =D

If you use an emulator (ie. no_gba2.6a [nds emulator]) to play games and the emulator has its .sav files; can we move the .sav files to our ds microSD card and continue playing where we left off?

Nope, I believe you can't. Most flashcarts use forced 512kb .sav files, and I think the NO$GBA uses a different one. I don't know if you can convert it or not. I once played Professor Layton (before getting my NDSL) on NO$GBA, then when I transferred it into my EDGE after getting my NDSL, the game just create another new 512kb .sav file and ignore the NO$GBA .sav file I copied over :sweatingbullets:

do you need the R4 for downloading games off sites like rom-freaks ?

sorry, i'm really a noob at this ^-^;;

You don't need an R4 or any flashcart to download games 'illegally' Ok, I'll try to explain using an R4.

1. Say, you bought an R4 which comes with a 1gb MicroSD

2. You then proceed to download games from websites like romulation.net and etc. into your computer.

3. Most of the time the games come in compressed format aka .rar files, you'll need to extract the .nds files out of the .rar files.

4. Insert the 1gb MicroSD card into a MicroSD card reader (usually comes with the flashcart R4); then insert it into your computer.

5. Get the latest firmware from the said flashcart website (in this case, it's R4)

6. Unzip the firmware onto the root/base of the MicroSD.

7. Copy and paste/drag and drop the earlier downloaded .nds file into the MicroSD.

8. Remove the reader from your com, remove the MicroSD from the reader; insert the MicroSD into your R4.

9. Then insert the R4 into your NDSL like normal carts.

10. If everything is done well and your R4 is not a faulty/fake unit, you'll see the main menu of R4 and you can start your NDSL journey from there :phew:

Hope I didn't confuse you. You can actually read A LOT on the internet about all these information, guess you were too lazy or couldn't be bothered lol :sweatingbullets:

Things are actually easier when you try them, so yea, all the best :D

i've been reading the dstt review.. and i was wondering, what does the term "soft reset" mean?

Soft reset is when you exit a game while playing to get back to the main menu of DSTT. I'll give you a clearer view.

Say, I am using the EDGE card and I'm playing FFTA2, I can soft reset to return to the main menu of EDGE by pressing L + R + X + Y + A + B simultaneously, from there, I can choose other games.

Most games can be soft reset as well, referring to the FFTA2 game, I can soft reset to return to the menu of FFTA2 (where I can choose 'New Game', 'Load' and etc.) by pressing L + R + Start + Select simultaneously.

Get the concept? Hard reset would be turning off the NDSL via the 'Power' button B)

Yeah, always wipe your screen first and put the screen protector on slowly.

I ruined like 3 sets before I got it on perfectly haha.

It's already out in Japan. Europe and Australia's got it last week for their Hanabi Festival. Now it's our turn..

SUPER MARIO RPG out now!

My Aquarium (Hudson Entertainment, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): With swaying aquatic plants and fish idly swimming about, My Aquarium is a relaxing Wii experience that allows you to enjoy a virtual aquarium in your spare time. Whether freshwater or saltwater, you can select from over 40 popular types of fish, including favorites like the Ocellaris clownfish, the freshwater angelfish and the Asian arowana. You can also create up to six different aquariums and personalize them by adding decorations like seaweed and driftwood. In My Aquarium, you can send aquariums to your registered Wii Friends. The aquariums can even be set with special dates, such as a friend’s birthday, that the fish will commemorate with a dance. Feed your fish and watch them steadily grow from fry to adult. Then, after meeting certain conditions, you can breed them. Another feature will allow you to interact with your fish using your Wii Remote™ controller in fun ways, like "tapping" the glass of your aquarium.

Clu Clu Land™ (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Take a deep breath and prepare for a puzzle game set in the underwater kingdom of Clu Clu Land. The greedy Sea Urchins have stolen all of Clu Clu Land’s gold bars and buried them in a series of mazes. As Bubbles, a brave bubble fish, you’ll set out to uncover all of the gold bars in each maze. But you’ll have to be careful: Sea Urchins will relentlessly pursue Bubbles, and there are also dangerous black holes that must be avoided. Bubbles isn’t defenseless, though, as she has the ability to stun Sea Urchins with sound waves and quickly change direction using posts scattered throughout the stages. Not only that, but the locations of the gold bars in each maze form the outline of another object—once you know the object, you’re well on your way to finding the gold. With 20 stages to complete and increasingly complex conditions (like having to pass over the gold bars twice to uncover them), you might just want to bring along a friend for help.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Super NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Set in the Mushroom Kingdom and featuring its cast of well-known characters, this adventure RPG begins with a familiar scenario: Mario™ must rescue Princess Toadstool™ from Bowser™. However, a mysterious new enemy named Smithy soon appears, and Mario and Bowser are forced to fight as allies for the first time in their long history. In the quest to defeat their powerful new foe, they’ll journey across a wide variety of locations (a town of mining moles, a tropical forest, a thundering waterfall—just to name a few) and tackle a mix of obstacles requiring both expert timing and strategy to overcome. Along the way, they’ll gain experience and grow more powerful, while also meeting new characters whose unique abilities will be needed to take on Smithy and his gang. Striking a perfect balance of traditional RPG elements and the action-packed game play Mario is famous for, it’s easy to see why this title has earned "legendary" status.

Gamecock Media Group recently announced that Blazing Lizard's Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball will release on Wii this winter.

The game is inspired by the popular internet meme, Pirates versus Ninjas (or vice versa), that circulates in the form of an ongoing debate that asks the question "Who would win in a fight: pirates or ninjas?".

quick question to all you DS players ..

what are your fav./most recommended multiplayer game avaliable for DS?

we`re having a gathering during mid-sem break (and after the anime festival here in Melbourne) and everyone is bringing their DS's and dishing it out ..

at the moment we`ve decided to play

1. Mario Kart (imma gonna fail so miserably on this)

2. Mario Party (imma gonna rock at this)

LOL .. and yea, that`s it .... ahahahahahas~~~ and yea, we`re ds downloading off one person or sth, since not everyone has the games, and i`ve noticed that some ds downloaded games are not nearly as fun eg. EBA there so few songs to choose from if you`re ds downloading ... or maybe we`re not doing it right? LOL!!

Cooking Mama 2 (I think you VS each other in this one, not sure... haven't tried yet)? What about the funny charades-like game, "LOL"? It seems like it'd be fun to play with friends. :)

Hmm, I can't think of anymore at the moment... >_<
