Hi girls (and guys), twitter girl is back with some yummy Ah In's tweets:

I love these tweets although I don't understand them. They always turn Google Translate into a joke, hence remind me not to worship it like God in my language classes :) Seem like he's still preoccupied with the notions of truth and honesty? I thought I recognized the word "honest".

Finally finished Shim's Family. I'm a sucker for family movies or dramas, especially one about a dysfunctional family coming together despite differences. This one just sucked me right in.

Awwww, I didn't think that YAI's character would be right about his father. It was a little sad and bittersweet actually. I really wish he had been wrong instead. But I loved the little resolution between him and his father at the end, I thought it was really sweet without being sugary sweet. After all they ARE family.

Next one, Strongest Chilwoo! I actually tried the first couple of episodes when it aired because I'm a huge Eric fan, but even then I ended up giving up. Do you guys think it's worth going back? Honestly?

@deeta: If I have to say one sentence to sum up Chilwoo, I'd say "It's so bad that it's good to watch." I can seriously watch that show forever just to watch Eric's Jesus hairstyle. And the Zorro transformation under the moonlight. And the cheap-looking mask which looks like it just comes from a post Halloween sale! All are so ridiculous that I laugh every single time I see them. The story of Chilwoo is actually not that bad, but bad acting, editing, and some mind-numbly bad directing kill the show. Go Hye Soo and Yoo Ah In are two of the few, if not only, actors that actually know what they're doing in that show. And don't let me talk about the editing, which gives us characters' flash-backs every 10 seconds.

Well, if you want to watch it for Yoo Ah In, I'd recommend skimming through till ep. 11 or 12. Heuk San (Yoo Ah In's role) gets much more screen time since then and his storyline is actually very intriguing. I think dramabeans recapped the show, so you can also read the recaps and skip some previous episodes.

Especially in ep. 13, Heuk San steals the show with his acting! YAI did a phenomenal job because his casting was super odd: he looked like a baby yet he played Eric's freaking older brother then!!!!! Plus there were a lot of doubts that with such a baby-face YAI would be able to pull off the cold, cool and mysterious look of the character. I doubted it myself, but after watching, I was stunned because YAI really immersed in his character and totally played the part! In fact his performance was so lively that I didn't event think of the age gap when I watched him with Eric. Heuk San's appearance isn't compelling (make-up artist has to be fired), but YAI's charisma pervades every single scene. In Ep. 15 or 16 there is a fighting scene between him and Eric and I was gasping because HS is toooo cool!

Hehe to sum it up, Strongest Chilwoo is definitely worth checking out, maybe for a couple episodes in the middle (~12-16), just because YAI is awesome in there!

@All: SKKS ep. 15, Jae-shin=Ah In=hot potato :)!

10/19/2010 News article...

Has lots of spoilers so condensed version...

KBS 2TV Monday-Tuesday Drama "Sung Kyun Kwan Scandal" episode 15 which aired on 18th, Gurl Oh Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In) became troubled Da Mul Kim Yoon Hee (Park Min Young)'s couselor.

Jae Shin was aware that his one and only beloved's sweetheart was Sun Joon and because of that Yoon Hee was very troubled. He cheered her on and offered his heartfelt advice.

In front of love, whatelse do you need other than truth? Jae Shin said, "What is there to worry?" "Just like you said in front of me, go and show him what's truely in your heart" to Yoon Hee.

Also, because Jae Shin did not want to let on that he was aware how Yoon Hee felt, he joked to masked the truth. Jae Shin said, "That person, is the one in your heart? Who? Cho Sun?" making her smile.

Jae Shin's chose to love Yoon Hee not by confessing to her which would throw her into confusion but by quietly cheering on her love. Jae Shin's deep love (to the point of haziness?) made those who were watching heartache.

Viewer's comments after airing: "Counseling Gurl Oh was cool but my heart ached for him" "Jae Shin and Yoon Hee can not be together?" "Gurl Oh's sunflower love (unrequited love) is so heartwrenching" "Gurl Oh's forlorn smile is still lingering".

Gurl Oh's "대물알이" (Dae Mul Al Yee, pining for Dae Mul) begins... :tears:

Gonna work on making gif of the "counseling scene"...

I know, isn't the hot potato scene heart-wrenching? Sigh........

BUT, on the other hand, it's good, cuz I don't want to share my Jae-shin with another girl hmmm (fangirls here plz don't shun me!). Plus there is always his bro Yeo-rim to console him :(

Strongest Chil Woo is hilarious and trivial. Nothing special about the storyline. Though it's lighthearted I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to see YAI. His character is way too cool than Eric. But he obviously looks young for his role (as eric's hyung). Ah In has superb martial arts skill in here(compared to HBS in SKKS) so you might want to check it out on the later episodes. Furthermore, YAI put serious effort in this drama.

I would rather see his bubbly character as Hyun Kyu in A-man-who-cant-get-married. Ji jin hee is superb, he puts me to roar in laughter. Plus you get to see YAI in every episode. He was able to show a lot of acting prowess plus tons of screen time :w00t:

I am overwhelmed on how others perceived YAI as "a boy-next-door with a scent of a man". Thus, I hope to see him do more projects in the future not being stock with moOny fever but as he is. That's why i think this tweet What preoccupies me is not the truth but the fact that my existence is far from the truth shows how he was occupied as the popular MJS but not as his casual self.

That's how i understand the translation.

I agree that his bubbly character Hyun Kyu is great to watch. Hyun Kyu is funny, smart and to some extent, tactful unless he's too preoccupied with work! But the problem with "A Man WHo Can't Get Married" is that Yoo Jin doesn't fall for him and I am SO heartbroken even though I must say, Hyun Kyu takes it quite well. I'm like "Yoo Jin ah! How can you not like Hyun Kyu??!?!?!? He's adorable to the pits and he's wayyyy better and more established than your ex....and don't count ajusshi! he's wayyyy too old for you!!!" Sigh.

YOO AH IN wins hands down!!!!!!!!!

Sigh. I'm already having withdrawal symptoms even though SKKS still have a couple more weeks to go...I hope Yoo Ah In gets casted for a drama as lead soon...if not, i don't know what i'll do. I can't just keep watching the happy parts knowing that he doesn't get the girl in the end.

Speaking of Hyunkyoo, I admit there were a few moments where I thought he and the manager Kiran (who's like 12 years his senior??) would have something going on, hehe :phew: . And I admit to actually liking that notion then, cos YAI and Yang Jungah have a fun rapport on screen. Plus, they were both having one sided feelings and were sort of broken hearted. But now that I think about it, I'm glad they didn't go there.

Thanks for the input about Strongest Chilwoo, guys! Like you guys mentioned, I think I'll just catch the few episodes in the middle just to see a little bit of Eric and YAI

BTW, I don't know if it's been discussed, but from the string of female co stars that YAI has had, who do you think has the best chemistry with him? We've had quite a few female costars, from Go Ara, Hwang Bora, to Jang Nara and etc. It doesn't have to be in a romantic sense either, like Kim Hyesoo as his aunt in Shim's Family or the one I mentioned, Yang Jungah as his boss. Gush away!

Kim Hye-soo, hand-down. Every single scene of these two together in Shim's Family cracks me up. I also love a scene in which Kim Hyesoo's character tries to remotely console YAI's character that it's okay to not to be Dad's son. She does it so casually but her concern for her niece touches my heart.

I think Go Hye Soo has great chemistry with YAI in Strongest Chil-woo, too, but their love arc is not the focus at all.

And do I have to mention Song Joong Ki? LOL

Haven't been here for a while because I just had an exam, but I managed to watch ep 13 and 14 of SKKS! It's painfully good :( And I bet the 15 and 16 will be that way too.

And about the thread, everything here makes my heart thumps so bad >< Never been so excited and so into an actor. His works are the first dramas/films I download because I'm scared if I don't do so, the files online will be gone. And so that I can see him even without internet connection haha!

SKKS ending is near, but I'm gonna stay. YAI is the first actor I backtrack and follow up. It's really amazing seeing his growth.

JUST CLICK THE POSTER!!

STIGMATIZED

If I give up on you I give up on me

If we fight what's true, will we ever be

Even God himself and the faith I knew

Shouldn't hold me back, shouldn't keep me from you

Chorus:

Tease me, by holding out your hand

Then leave me, or take me as I am

And live our lives, stigmatized

I can feel the blood rushing though my veins

When I hear your voice, driving me insane

Hour after hour day after day

Every lonely night that I sit and pray

Chorus

We live our lives on different sides,

But we keep together you and I

Just live our lives, stigmatized

We'll live our lives, We'll take the punches everyday

We'll live our lives I know we're gonna find our way

I believe in you

Even if no one understands

I Believe in you, and I don't really give a damn

stigmatized

We live our lives on different sides

But we keep together you and I

We live our lives on different sides

We're gonna live our lives

Gotta live our lives

We're gonna live our lives

We're gonna live our lives, Gonna live our lives, Stigmatized

majarot I remember Hyunkyu had some pretty cool glasses! I actually have a pair that's a little similar the ones he's wearing in that pic cos I thought they were cute when I saw them on him. Problem is, they totally don't look cute on me and I kinda ended up looking like a granny, haha.

tinysunbl, there's a reason I asked specifically for female co stars. Cos for male, I think the overwhelming response would be our resident Porn Diva . I loved loved that scene you mentioned too. I swear to god, YAI's face when he informed his aunt that he used to be a king in his previous life, it cracked me up.

For me, my pick would be Kim Soeun. People were really into KSE and Kim Bum, but I thought she had better chemistry with YAI. I just loved how comfortable Yoojin and Hyunkyu were, they were fun and playful and more than being a couple, they were just good friends.

Totally agree with you there, if you have extra time in your hands, you could watch Strongest Chilwoo on streaming sites like mysoju or askdrama. If you cannot spare the time though, just read the recaps on dramabeans coz javabeans specifically mentioned that the best point of this drama is showing us HOW GREAT AN ACTOR YOO AH IN IS! laugh.gif

While someone was talking about "The Man Who Can't Get Married", I also thought maybe Hyungyoo has a love story with Kiran-sshi but maybe the writers omitted it? I was so ready to see a loveline between them, because it seems that Hyungyoo himself has a thing for Kiran-sshi (like her candid photos on his camera). I loved Yoo Ah-in in that. His character is so lovable and cute and aside of his usual gloomy, desperate choice of characters.

Oh no! SKKS is about to end! I think I'm going to cry. But don't worry, I've watched each of Yoo Ah-in's projects like at least 3 times. I mean, he's that addictive. We all know what will happen but oh well, I'll be staying for Ah-in. His character, Moon Jaeshin, really allows him to show his broad acting skills in one character! I've also never seen him in a proper love story (even though I'm not a big fan of love stories) so SKKS is very exciting. And different! And so much fun. Have I ever told you how much I adore (and love) everything, absolutely EVERYTHING about SKKS? They are that good. Probably one of the few dramas where I will always eagerly wait for the next episode.

I love how this thread has so many members! I wasn't the first few people on this but there was a time where only a few of us were on this thread, when he was in hiatus. I'm very glad many people can see just how awesome he is.

One more thing before I close my comment. A few of you have said that Ah-in is a deep person and yes sirree! I don't understand his literature works but for sure they are hard. Even Korean speakers might not understand. Again, I can't help but find similarities with him and Cho Seung-woo. I might be a bit forceful but I truly am a fan of both and see both of them as one of the strongest actors of their generations. Like how they're not carried away by fame, that's pretty important. These two also shared a few similar costars, notably Kim Hye-soo. With Cho, Kim portrayed her usual femme fatale-ness. But with Yoo, Kim showed her wacky side which is very refreshing. I love Kim Hye-soo all the better. She is one awesome actress so it doesn't matter.

Ah! I took too long, again. But thank you to all who have shared photos of Ah-in! I'm very happy. I don't have the integrity to spend time looking for photos so... I'm thankful to those who are willing.

@ tinysunbl, 1crazynyt and everyone else who shared pictures so that we can get Yoo Ah In's DramaWiki profile picture changed, how does this look?

fqfPC.jpg

It was hard to find one that fit the guidelines and was big enough to work with as well, so I ended up colouring the black and white original in Photoshop.

bbaekgayoo2.th.jpg

Please tell me if it looks weird! :D I don't want to upload it to DramaWiki until I'm certain it looks all right, haha.

And tinysunbl, remember this youtube video you posted with a clip of YAI's kiss scene?

I downloaded his Drama City episode to check, and yes, that's from Shi Eun & Soo Ha :P It's early in the episode. Unfortunately it's unsubbed like most Drama City eps, but it's not too hard to get the general jist. He starts off as Soo Ha's boyfriend (which is where the scene comes from), but it seems he argues with her later on? I'm not sure whether they broke up and she went with the doctor guy that her sister was friends with, but if they did, it means poor YAI has once again not gotten the girl. XD He won't get the girl in SKKS, and he didn't in Chil Woo, He Who Can't Marry or Sharp. I'm hoping he'll get his big break and first leading role soon, just so I can see him get the girl!

If it's so hard to find a pic which fits the guideline, I'm totally okay with the profile pic you suggest. It's perfect color-wise, I just think his pose looks a bit weird. What do you all think?

Omo!!!! Can you share with us the DramaCity episode? I can't understand Korean but my quest is becoming a Yoo Ah In Kompletist. Must watch all his body of works and give him support^^ Is it YAI's first ever kiss scene? Hi Rxgoodleaf, do you know if he kissed in Sharp? How about the Man Who Wants to Marry? I need to get on that show soon.

One more thing: I'm working on a Music Video for Moony and Yoon-hee. THIS IS THE PREVIEW. I'm taking requests, so if you have any particular fav scene of Jae-shin you'd like to see, just let me know and I will include them in the full version of the vid. And can you suggest any song that would fit Moony's theme? I'd love to take song requests too.

For the start, my bad for being rude. Allow me to pay my courtesy to everyone who's been here for a long time. I am please to be part of YAI thread. I only get to know this amazing actor from SKKS, then to feed my addiction I look for several works of YAI. I was hooked by the promising screenplay of SKKS with zero idea about the casts. However, from the start I was compelled to snoop around on whereabouts of these actors. Instinct tells me that YAI is the lead actor--he's so attractive in the poster. And to my surprise, I can't recognize the boy in dramawiki from the man in SKKS presscon  He's too captivating with a scent of a promising actor of his generation. I don't just go gaga for the superficial, I'm attracted to personality and what he could offer to the industry. I was never wrong with my impression on Eita so I have so much faith on YAI.

Why do you have to make wonderful videos? You're killing me with frustration. :tears: Another work of yours just go straight to my favorite box (If You Were Gay is a box office and this one is a knock out). You always have the best songs and clips. Cheers to that!

Song request you say aye! wanna try moOn-y river? :P

I love your MV!! It's not even done yet and I already played it over and over. Love the choice of song and love how you really made use of the lyrics to tell a story. My heart almost drop towards the end where they were smiling at each other n MJS almost couldn't contain his sadness. Keep up the good work cuz I can't wait to see the final product. I read your description tho so I thought after I'm done w/ all the squeeeeing n spazzing, I look again to see if I can give any constructive criticism so u can win ur audition!! :) i think the first part (between 0.04 - 0.09) can use a smoother transition. i get ur trying to illustrate the world spinning around w/ flashes of a confused Yoonhee but it's a bit dizzying (hmm... does that mean it achieves the fx?) n i don't think we want ppl to be physically dizzy but just have the sense of it. I really need to find the song you use!! And check out the rest of the song recommendations here. Thx for sharing!!

1Crazynyt, I can't play your video. it says it's blocked in my country due to copyright reason w/ SME. perhaps you can change the pitch of the music just a little so it can pass youtube's copyright screening. ;) i'm dying to watch it cuz the poster looks so inviting!

Btw, if you guys haven't already, you should check out Swoddss youtube channel. I think 파쓰 makes some nice SKKS vids as well and s/he is quite Georo bias so I love em all!!

Uh oh... I have nothing to share or say about YAI... i'll come back later. Must resume life (aka be at work now). Toodles!
