Guest IgnyteME
I have a consultation with the orthodontist today. I really really want to get ceramic braces but I'm not sure if my orthodontist offers that. If not, my second choice would be Invisalign. I KNOW for sure that he does Invisalign. He's a specialist for it actually. Which one would you suggest?
Guest lhsbndfrk89
price? Braces is so much cheaper then invisalign. No kidding. fastest? it's depends. Braces can be faster, bc whenever you have braces you can't take them off, lol. but with i. you can whenever your teeth hurts. You just have to be dedicated to it. looks? i. dead on. I have i. but my brother has braces. I would prefer i. if you have the money. it's really pricey depending on how bad your teeth is. The reason why i had it was because my teeth gotten crooked after i had my wisdom teeth taken out and ever since i had my daughter, it been kinda pushed out, i dunno why. lol. Guest Kiss Me
Both have pros & cons... I believe invisalign takes a shorter amount of time than braces. I got consulted for both and while braces required me to have it on for 2yrs, invisalign was 1yrs. For sure invisalign makes you look better... And invisalign is a bit pricey! Guest MeiHearts
if you've got the money, go for invisalign .. i think it's less damage to your teeth as well haha. but i have braces... they're not that bad
Guest peachesncre4ms
NOO.. invisalign takes longer time!!! and besides, whenever you lose it,(and you will lose it all the time when you're eating out and have to take it off and put it on a napkin), you will have to pay full price for another one. too much hassles and you're wasting time. Guest qkrcjdfla
you should ask if you can get lingual braces I have them and I LOVE them
Guest c.to_
braces. no doubt hands down. They might be a pain and hurt and look ugly. but totally work it, gaurentee. Just think, invisalign, you have to take them out whenver you eat. i ahve retainers before and after braces, it isn't an attractive thing to see you take out your retainer ( or in this case ' invisilign') in order to eat. I think it would be a pain. BRACES GO! plus EVERYONNEE will notice your teeth after you get your braces off. the biggest confidence boost ever. hahaha i think everyone should get braces just to experience them. or be on the ' to do before i die' list. like seriously... hahaha
Guest jN x3 sK
If you have the money, go for invisalign since it cuts down on the amount of time, just make sure you stay dedicated to it like someone up top said. as for me I have braces which I get off in october
Guest Hemera
invisalign is really annoying the first month..then your lisp goes away, you get used to having the plastic in your mouth and invading your tongue space plus side: keeps cavities away but i read somewhere that since your teeth will be covered for a majority of the time..it's bad for the teeth or something =x
joongified.
peachesncre4ms@ invisalign does NOT take a longer time. It's actually faster than traditional braces.
Guest missykathyx3
i don't like invisalign because people can still see them they're just not as noticeable so i see no point in them. also after a while they turn yellow. do you really want yellow plastic looking stuff plastered on your teeth ? Guest IgnyteME
I'm getting braces next week! I'm getting the In-Ovation Braces and they are the clear braces. They're not ceramic, the brackets are just clear I'm so excited! Oh, but it's going to take 1.5 to 2 years, which surprised me because I didn't think my teeth were THAT horrible. Yeah, they're horrible, but not HORRIBLE. Ya know? And they have to remove some of my teeth The clear braces I'm getting cost $500 more than the traditional metal braces, which isn't too bad in my opinion. Guest FRUITYCHEESECAKE
I have braces now and the only bad part is that I talk funny with them. I used to complain about how it takes me forever to floss and brush my teeth but I got used to that. Sometimes it's such a pain in the butt to go out and eat with people, though. I wouldn't get clear brackets - they turn yellow very easily.
Guest AzNMiss x3
Braces!! Invisalign takes MUCH longer than braces & are a thousand to a couple thousand dollars more. & ceramic braces gets dirty really fast. You should check out Damon braces. Only some places have them though. They look a little bit more discreet than regular metal braces, theyre more comfortable, less visits, & they work FASTER!! They're a little bit more than regular braces but if you can afford Invisalign or ceramic, i'm pretty sure you can afford this too.
Guest IgnyteME
Just to clear things up, the In-Ovation braces ARE ceramic. They consist of translucent ceramic brackets. Yeah, my friends have been telling me about how I should switch to the traditional metal brackets, but I think I'm going to stick with my decision for clear ones. I'll probably put up a picture of them when I get them on. Oh, and I've seen a topic here where people show their braces. Does anyone happen to have the link to it? Guest kumadana
i have clear braces. it;s nice i guess. they stain easy. i had to trade in thai teas with milk teas D: i had pretty crooked teeth and an underbite that made my smile have lots of gaps. I;ve had my braces on for a year and a half and my friends always ask when i get them off and when i say i have another year it really surprises them because my teeth are already so straight. So i do agree that braces work a lot faster. i like it because it looks like you;re just wearing a retainer if you keep them really clean. i remember i met this really cute guy at the beach and we were talking and he was like, "You have sand in your retainer." and i was like, "Oh they;re braces." and he goes, "oh wow you;re teeth look so good though!" x] you should get braces then invisalign for a retainer afterwards if you got the money. if you really don;t want people to know you;re getting your teeth straightened but you want it to work fast, maybe you should get the braces that go on the backs of your teeth instead of the ones that just go on the front of you teeth. I think hannah montanna has/had those.
Guest rozealbert
Invisalign braces are really very comfortable and far better than metal braces. It is one of the best removable aligners which you can easily adjust to your teeth and can remove whenever you want. It is completely hygienic as you can easily remove it while brushing and eating. It makes your teeth straight and aligned if you use these braces. So, if you have got unordered teeth you can use Invisalign braces.
Guest ~koe*no*sainou~
The BEST decision I've ever made was invisalign. They're actually the same price as braces (for me). They're extremely comfortable, NO pain whatsoever, and they're QUICK! My teeth are really bad but it's only going to take 10 months total. The only pain is flossing and brushing after every meal and leaving them out too long. I love invisalign though, and I hope you consider them! Everyday I wake up soo glad that I chose them over braces.
Guest sanjoniji
If I recall I wasn't able to get Invisalign because 1. my insurance didn't support it and 2. my teeth wouldn't benefit from it. Rather than just having crooked teeth mine were very poorly aligned (top went way over bottom, covering bottom when clenched) and my ortho. said invisalign would take a very long time, while metal braces would help the most and not take too much time. I also think I would've been much too inclined to remove invisalign, while with braces I had no choice. Of course it was a good two years of awkward smiles. But my teeth look amazing now. Guest ling_ling
I am in the same situation !! I am torn between braces of invisees too ! These are my pro and cons for both:: Braces: Pros:- * A LOT cheaper * No hassle ~ except getting them tightened every 3 months (ish) Cons:- * Ugly [depending on which one you get, ceramic isnt as bad but metal is not nice!! haha] * Possibly more painful, but each person varies Invisaligns: Pros:- * Clear * Shorter time Cons:- * EXPENSIVE! * Dedication ~ you need to wear them for 20 hours a day for them to work to their fullest potential, otherwise you might have to wear them longer * Hassle ~ changing every two weeks, remembering to change them really... I mean, overall, if you have the money then deffo go for invisaligns ~ its really money problems really.... But yeh
