Kang Sora, Rain and SBS State Appearances in ′Goodbye My Beloved′ Not Confirmed

Kang Sora and Rain are currently reviewing offers to appear in Goodbye My Beloved (translated).


A rep from Kang Sora′s agency, Will Entertainment, stated to Newsen on November 13, "Kang Sora received an offer to appear in Goodbye My Beloved and it is one of the dramas she is currently reviewing. Nothing has been decided yet."
 

A rep from Rain′s agency, Rain Company, also stated to Newsen, "It′s true that Rain received an offer to appear in Goodbye My Beloved and he′s reviewing it positively, but it′s one of many offers he′s received, so he hasn′t confirmed his appearance yet. For now, he will focus on his world tour and make a decision when the drama is organized."


A source from SBS′ drama bureau stated to Newsen, "Nothing has been set related to casting and organization regarding Goodbye My Beloved."


Meanwhile, Goodbye My Beloved is based on Japanese novel Seven Days of Manager Tsubakiyama, a comedy about a man who dies but can′t bring himself to go to heaven because of his unfinished work. The drama is set to be directed by Shin Yun Seob PD of Rooftop Prince and is in talks to be organized for SBS sometime in the first half of next year.

Actors Rain and Kang Sora have chosen ” Hello My Precious Person” (working title) as their comeback drama.

A drama insider revealed, “Kang Sora, who had been deliberating over her comeback project has chosen ‘Hello My Precious Person’ and is currently preparing for it. You can look forward to her cheerful romantic comedy with Rain.”

The drama will be based on the Japanese novel “Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanoka-kan” which translates to “Seven Days of Manager Tsubakiyama.” The novel tells the tale of a middle-aged salaryman who dies, but is given the opportunity to live in the body of a beautiful woman for a few days.

Actor Kim Soo Ro is currently being favored to portray the manager who will be possessing Kang Sora’s body. Looks like viewers can not only look forward to the chemistry between leads Kang Sora and Rain, but also the comedic antics of Kim Soo Ro.

The scriptwriter will be No Hye Young who has previously worked for movies “Singles” and “200 Pound Beauty.” As for the director, Shin Yoon Sub of “Rooftop Prince” and “Ugly Alert” will be directing.

The drama is scheduled to broadcast in March of next year.

Kang Sora Joins Rain in 2016 K-drama Goodbye My Beloved One

This is most excellent casting news, and certainly is a step in the right direction for me in setting the stage for Rain to comeback in a drama worth his while. Kang Sora has been confirmed as his leading lady in upcoming 2016 drama Goodbye My Beloved One. It’s the K-drama adaptation of a well known Japanese novel about a deceased man who gets a second chance soul swap to finish some unfinished business.

It’s nothing novel or groundbreaking in narrative conceit, but at least hews close to the warm and fuzzy humanistic story than trying for makjang lures. I already thought Rain chose wisely when he was confirmed for this drama’s leading man, but to have Kang Sora join him feels like an extra layer of validating. She is a fantastic leading actress even if I’ve loved and hated some of her past roles equally, but always she’s never been anything but a very charismatic onscreen presence for me. I totally approve of her being Rain’s leading lady!

 

 

I feel like Rain and Kang Sora share the same trait in that their acting talents live and die by the characters each is saddled with. They can’t transcend a poorly written character, as evidenced by Dr. Stranger and My Lovely Girl, but in the right role such as Misaeng and Sang Doo, Let’s Go to School, they are phenomenal. I’m actually highly optimistic about this one.

Kang So-ra considers Goodbye My Beloved opposite Rain

Dramaland seems dead set on making a Rain–Kang So-ra pairing a reality — it almost happened for Warm and Cozy, and this time they’re both up for the new drama remake of the Japanese novel Mr. Tsubakiyama’s Seven Days (Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanokakan). The new series, called Goodbye My Beloved, is about a man who comes back from the afterlife to take care of some unfinished business.

The original story is about a middle-aged department store manager who dies of overwork and is granted a seven-day trip back to the land of the living, as long as he doesn’t reveal his true identity. So he possesses the body of a young woman, which is the lead role that Kang So-ra has been offered. It turns out not to be Rain possessing her though (thank goodness for that — we don’t need a one-sided Secret Garden on our hands).

One source names Kim Su-ro (A Gentleman’s Dignity) for the role of the dead man who possesses her, but that hasn’t been confirmed. It would be awesome if he did play the dead ajusshi though, for the comedy alone. Meanwhile Rain is up to play Kang So-ra’s love interest… which kinda makes this a Rain-Kim Su-ro loveline, doesn’t it? Yes, please!

While the original work sounds more like a contemplative story filled with laughter-tears and real tears, the Korean drama remake is described as an upbeat romantic comedy. Yup, now it pretty much sounds like Oh My Ghostess with gender-bendy hijinks. At the helm are writer Noh Hye-young of the movie 200-Pound Beauty and PD Shin Yoon-sub of Rooftop Prince. Casting seems very tentative for now, as is the timeslot — it’s in consideration for SBS’s 2016 schedule.

Both Kang So-ra and Rain could use a better drama after Warm and Woozy and She’s So Mediocre, but will they have chemistry together? Or will they surprise us and be so good that it makes us wonder if Rain is really in love with Kim Su-ro?

Hi azuvilla, thanks for sharing some updates here.

Abouth the new drama, I like Kang Sora & I know a little about her so, I'm excited for this in case RAIN takes this. I feel Misaeng was her best drama till date. And she looks somehow like KTH in certain angle or is it just me? She's cute.  Have to wait & see. Besides, I'm a sucker for rom-com - so fun, that's why, I like the genre. This pairing seems like it would be NICE. My only complaint is: the plot is not very original so, I don't like the premise very much. I just hope this one will have a decent script. RAIN is a wonderful actor. KSR so far always shows wonderful chemistry with her co-stars.

Fans are set to gather at Brisbane International Airport on Thursday morning when one of Asia’s biggest celebrities lands in Queensland.

An original of the ‘K-Pop’ phenomenon, Rain, jets into Queensland for a short visit as his millions of social media followers get wind of his pending arrival.

Rain is a Korean music and movie star, said to be the Justin Timberlake of Asia and the ‘King of K-Pop’. K-Pop, or Korean pop music, is a cultural phenomenon in Korea, across Asia and amongst millions of fans around the world.
His musical career includes seven albums, 28 singles and numerous concert tours around the world. His Hollywood films included Speed Racer, the lead role in Ninja Assassin and The Prince. Several sources told E Daily Star In that Kim Soo-ro was considering the offer for "Hello, My Precious". He is in the final negotiation stages with the drama crew. While Rain and Kang So-ra are in charge of mellow, Kim Soo-ro will be in charge of comedy.

"Hello, My Precious" is about a man who doesn't know he's dead, coming back alive and mingling with people he didn't know before and accepting death. This drama is based on an original Japanese human comedy novel "7 Days of Tsubakiyama" by Asada Jiro.

The King of K-Pop Rain touched down in Brisbane today to tour the state as ambassador of a new Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) campaign.

There were many Rain fans on hand to greet the superstar at Brisbane Airport’s International Terminal on his arrival.

 

TEQ Chair Bob East was at Brisbane Airport this morning to welcome Rain on his arrival.

“Rain, who has previously visited Queensland as a cast member of the popular Korean reality TV show Running Man, will reacquaint himself with some of the state’s most popular tourism destinations and attractions as part of the new ‘Q-pop’ campaign,” Mr East said.

“Korea is an important market for Queensland with 53,000 Koreans visiting the state in the year to June 2015 – a four per cent increase on the year prior – spending $147 million on their visits.

“We welcome Rain to Queensland and look forward to him sharing his experiences with his millions of followers globally.”

 

When asked about mission of TEQ, Mr East stated it was to inspire the world to experience the best address on earth.

“Given Rain’s global appeal, the ‘Q-Pop’ campaign is a fantastic opportunity to achieve cut-through in this growing inbound market and across Asia,” he said.

Rain, Kim Tae-hee deny rumors of wedding plans

 

SEOUL, Nov. 20 (Yonhap) -- Singer Rain and actress Kim Tae-hee on Friday denied rumors they are marrying in December.

A local magazine reported earlier Friday the couple will tie the knot on Christmas Eve in a private ceremony.

"How do they know about a wedding they themselves don't know about," R.A.I.N. Company said in response, adding Rain will be in China then for a concert in Shanghai on Dec. 25.

Kim's agency also said the rumors are "absolutely not true."

   "We don't understand where this gossip comes from," Lua Entertainment said.

The couple met on a TV commercial set in 2011 and started dating in fall of 2012. Their relationship, however, wasn't revealed until January 2013.

There have been several rumors of their wedding this year, but each time they were rejected by the two sides.

Rain is currently on an Asia tour and is scheduled to return to Seoul for concerts from Dec. 11-13. Kim is on a hiatus after finishing her drama "Yong-pal" on the terrestrial network SBS.
