Rain to appear in his first ever Chinese TV Drama, 'Love is like Diamonds'

DMG Entertainment recently announced that Rain will be making his first ever Chinese TV debut with the drama 'Love is like Diamonds' along with A-list Chinese and korean stars, including Tang Yan, Luo Jin, and Di Li Re Ba.

The drama, already in its filming stages in Shanghai and Korea, is listed as one of the most anticipated dramas of 2015 as it gained a strong following through various Chinese social media platforms.

DMG Entertainment President Wu Bing expressed her excitement to be able to work with Rain. She said at the press conference, "We are excited to be working with international star, Rain, on his first Chinese TV Drama. I am also personally thrilled to be working with him."

Meanwhile, Rain will be playing the role of a manipulative business executive. He'll be breaking away from his usual 'good-guy' image the star has sculpted through popular Korean dramas, such as 'My Lovely Girl' and 'Full House'.

It seems as if I’m covering more Chinese dramas these days because of the numerous Korean actors/idols plying their trade in China. Another highly anticipated drama this year is Diamond Lover, starring Rain and Tang Yan. As mentioned, Tang Yan and Crystal Liu have been snuggling up to some of the hottest Korean men out there. Well, Tang Yan was getting cosy with Wallace Chung in Silent Separation so she’s one fortunate woman. Though I would love to see Wallace pair up with one of my fave Korean actresses sometime soon. Kim Tae Hee? Shin Min Ah? Son Ye Jin? Oh yes, Son Ye Jin is acting opposite Taiwanese actor Bolin Chen in an upcoming movie… now that would be something interesting.

Anyway, Rain and his fellow Diamond Lover cast met the press recently and he looked every inch the chaebol he is playing in the drama. I haven’t actually haven’t seen many shots of he and Tang Yan filming so this is technically the first time I’m seeing them proper standing next to each other.

Actor Rain spotted in Samcheon-dong in the middle of filming Chinese movie 'Diamond

Chinese film, 'Diamond Lover' starring Rain is being filmed in Seoul.

According to a media source, Rain is filming the movie along with other actors in Seoul. The female lead, Tang Yan is staying in Seoul as well to participate in the shooting.

On February 4th, the production team including Rain is shooting the film in Samcheon-dong after a hotel in Seoul. The set is crowded with international tourists. Fans who were at the spot have been posting online on Chinese websites.

The filiming of 'Diamond Lover' in Seoul will continue until February 8th. The shooting will alternate its places between China and Korea afterwards.

The film is directed by Chen Ming Zhang who directed the Taiwanese version of 'Fated to Love You'. 150,000,000 yuan was invested for the production. The production team decided to shoot in Seoul in place of Belgium. The shooting will take place in Shanghai, China and Korea for the next three months.

US Media focuses on Rain’s Chinese drama debut work ‘Love is Like Diamonds’

US media is showing interest toward the Chinese drama debut of singer and an actor Rain.
Entertainment media ‘Hollywood Reporter’ reported Rain’s previous works and his role in this drama ‘Diamond Lover’ with title ‘South Korean Superstar Rain to Make China TV Drama Debut in 'Love Is Like Diamonds’’.
In this drama ‘Love is Like Diamonds’, Rain took the role of Soryang, the representative of world’s biggest diamond company and he is working with China’s best actress Tang Yan.
Hollywood Reporter mentioned of Rain’s role as a perfectionist CEO and his character in ‘Full House’, focusing on his character change in Chinese drama. Also, Rain was introduced as his work in Hollywood like ‘The Prince’ he worked with Bruce Willis.

Rain Currently Shooting Chinese Drama "Diamond Lover," Returns to Korea on Feb 3 for Domestic Shoot

Singer and actor Rain is focusing solely on Chinese drama "Diamond Lover" lately.

According to a source, Rain who is shooting "Diamond Lover" returned to Korea on February 3.

After shooting the drama in Shanghai and Nanjing, he is currently shooting for it at a location in Korea. Previously during the shoot in Shanghai, his girlfriend Kim Tae Hee visited to encourage him and it had drawn attention.

"Diamond Lover" is a drama produced by Taiwanese producer who worked on the very popular original drama of "Fated to Love You" which was remade in Korea.

In the drama, Rain is the CEO of world's best diamond company and typical elite in the society and popular Chinese actress Tiffany Tang will be playing his love interest.

He plans to go to China and continue the shoot after he finishes the shoot in Korea. Shoot in Belgium is also planned.
