STELLAR Snaps Photo with Rain as PR Ambassadors for Defense Media Agency

Girl group STELLAR (Ga Young, Jun Yool, Min Hee, Hyo Eun) have been appointed as the promotional ambassadors for the Defense Media Agency's "Entertainment Train" concert.

On April 9, STELLAR attended the appointment ceremony at the Defense Media Agency building and received the symbolic items that represent the promotional ambassadors, which are the beret and honorary military dog tags. Other promotional ambassadors and officers, who are involved in the "Entertaiment Train" concert, attended this appointment ceremony as well.

In the photo above, Hyo Eun and Ga Young snapped a photo with their senior, Rain, who is currently enlisted in the military. The three of them are sporting berets and Hyo Eun and Ga Young have their hand slipped in Rain's arms.

STELLAR debuted with "Rocket Girl" in August 2011. They performed for various "Entertainment Train" concerts for the Army units, Air Force units, Navy units and more. They were widely received with great fervor from the soldiers.

Sources from the Defense Media Agency say, "It's widely known that STELLAR is one of the most popular girl groups amongst soldiers. Also, we see great potential in them to grow and develop with our program for the 'Entertainment Train' concert. That is why we have chosen them as promotional ambassadors."

The "Entertainment Train" concert was first created in 1961 and is continuing the tradition for 51 years with over 2,580 concerts and over 420 entertainers who have performed.

It was indeed a pleasure to have Rain with my coffee this morning. Friends FM radio DJ radiojumam had Rain as a guest on his show bright and early Atlanta time (7 am), though across the International Dateline it was Monday evening at 8 pm in Seoul.

The military station played several Park HyoShin songs first, which is always welcome. PHS’s buttery voice will indeed warm the cockles of your heart—the man can sing. And then the DJ welcomed listeners to the show and warmed us up even more with Akon and Michael Jackson’s “Hold My Hand.” Wow. K-Pop girl group STELLAR was up next, fresh from being honored as ambassadors of DEMA’s Consolatory Train program for the troops. Such adorable young women! Though I’m not fluent in Korean, their lovely personalities came straight over the airwaves.

And then, half an hour into the show, the eagle I was waiting for landed. Our soldier boy invaded the premises. There was no mistaking the familiar timbre of JiHoon’s relaxed, happy voice, and Kim JaeWook and Im JuHwan were with him.

It was an hour and a half filled with laughter, excited chatter, and clear camaraderie amongst all four men as Rain immersed himself in the interview. At one point, one of the guys threw a quick bit of Rain’s song “I Do” into the mix. Hilarious. When radiojumam used Rain’s song “Love Story” to end the show, I applauded. What a way to sign off.

This was a great two-hour way to start my day.

It turned out that the head got off work, so the two came on for the head. We never thought we would give them to Rain ourselves. Hi anjjo, thanks for sharing this but so sad that he won't be participating this event. Jinhae Gunhang Festival is held annually & is one of the most famous cherry blossom events. Jinhae is a place in Korea located in south gyeongsang province.

Very right bbly, that pic is from Fugitive. If I am not mistaken that shooting took place in my area that shows that Rain is riding an owner-type jeep, a vehicle which is common here. Our friend willenette will surely remember that, having been involved in the production of that drama. Hope she is enjoying her vacation now and wonder in what country this time. We miss her, have a good break and relax, dear.

anjjo, thanks for posting this Fugitive BTS. So, what’s not to love? I will continue adoring him in every drama he’s starring no matter who his leading lady is. And the other cast will surely be a delight to watch. RAIN's acting here is still as good as ever. He’s still as sexy & HOT as ever! The EP1.cracked me with his make-faces. I really think this drama was so overrated. The plot is simple and don't have complications.

1. As one of the lowest order in the members, Rain introduced himself first, saying "I think I've been on the radio in two years. If I get out of here now, I could see Yeouido before me (Yeouido constituted the base of his activities when he was in society)

2. Rain : When I rose to the rank of private first class, I felt literally on top of the world, but I should have joined the military a little earlier. The sooner I began, the sooner I could finish it. But now that I have served in the military, a load is off my mind.

Rain : I found a netizen posted a malicious comment saying "Rain's farts stink really bad." to an Internet article on today's event of an honorary ambassador for Defense Agency for Public Information Services. It is emphatically not true, and I always wash myself clean. I flatter myself that I have no equal in keeping myself clean.

4. Rain : Getting a salary increase here occurs with great rarity, so I can barely make ends meet with my current salary of a little more than ₩ 80,000 a month.

5. Rain : The more comments the better, it doesn't matter if it is good or bad.

(When MC said, "Rain is really very human when I get to know him."), I'm still feeding only on dew, so I rarely go to the restroom and I have to take opening medicine. I think the joke is so corny.

6. Rain : When I performed last time (March 26th), my clothes fit so tight that I was about to pop right out of them even though the clothes originally fit me just right. Boy, was I embarrassed! So I'm trying to refrain from eating larger-than-usual portions.

7. Rain : Since you (MC) forced me to eat a lot a couple of days ago, I was admitted to hospital because of acute indigestion. You shouldn't have forced me to eat too much. (MC said "I just wanted to chat over something to eat.)

Rain : I guessed that my leg and lower back had hurt probably because I had poor circulation whenever I had performed, but when I went for a check-up with leg pains, the leg turned out to be in an abnormal curvature. I don't think it's that serious, but I’d probably need professional help someday, relaxing as much as possible.

11. Rain : Can you give me the song "I Do" before I go to sleep? (when 'Park Hyo Shin' sang "I Do") Well if you're willing, I think I can get a good night's sleep. I could be very thankful for that.

12. Rain : I was getting too many parcels from my fans when I was in an unit attached to the 5th Division before and it was so hard to arrange those things, so when I asked them not to do that, they hardly send presents to me now. And then contrary to other members, I feel left out. I said it just for fun. My fans tend to be obedient. (They tend to lap up everything I tell them)

13. Rain : I always clean up our barrack. In my recruit, a squad ranked higher than me, who is 9 years younger than I, threw a mop to me, telling me to wash it with a smile. Then I picked up the mop on the ground and washed it diligently. It was a day I'll never forget. (when a member said, "I want to see him doing that here as well.", a roar of laughter went up.) If that's what you think, I'll just sit on a sofa, not cleaning.

14. Rain : I'm about to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my debut, but I think I look the same as I did 10 years ago.

15. A member : "Rain is tall and has a very nice build. As I found Rain has black-like hips when I had a bath with him. His hips are so hot that I bet he wouldn't even bleed from the hips if I cut them.

16. Rain : My hips are the most attractive parts in my body, and my eyes are the second attractive parts. ( They burst into a laugh by his action)

During the press conference, one reporter humorously asked the world star about double-eyelid surgery. anjjo, this drama deserved a higher ratings. I loved the sleek filming, the action, the sexiness & at the same time cuteness of RAIN … pretty much everything about it just dripped with amazingness. But my favourite drama till date among RAIN’s dramas would have to be Ijuksa… The entire drama still takes my breath away even when I think about it now despite the sad ending. Well, for me, Korean productions have been able to set themselves apart because of quality and calibre.

Hi anjjo, like you, I was also wondering the part where he said that he might consider a plastic surgery when he gets older but can't see it anywhere. But, you know how translation works sometimes - it comes with different meanings from each other sources. About his leg ailment, I think this has been with him for quite a long time now even before he was enlisted. I remember he keeps on complaining about his leg pain every time he dances once in a while. Not only the leg but he's also complaining on some joint pains, right? Ye, WB's case before was his leg injury, which worsened while he was serving & he was forced to shorten his service because he needed a surgery already. Ye, exempt for military service -include those who suffer from medical problems but military has really to examine this. Usually when receiving reviews, a set amount of time period is given for medical treatment. 6 months, or sometimes 4 months, is decided as the treatment period. The progress is checked and the decision is made…With the results from the last review, enlistment or exemption will be decided. There are celebrities currently serving who have minor medical problem & they're not on "active-duty" instead they're assigned as "Public Service Personnel" & some are assigned at the PR Dept. Being a "PSP soldier is a fixed hourly job that doesn’t involve a lot of physical stress.Usually, those who are assigned here are those not strong enough condition to handle the physical stresses of active duty. People with medical issues are either exempt completely or they are instead ordered to serve their military terms as a public service worker (Civil service) So, the mandatory social service is given to men in Korea in place of military service for some reasons. Being a Public Service Personnel you could only work regular working hours and you’re allowed to spend your free time on your own. I read that the K-government plans to raise the threshold for Korean men to be granted exemption from the mandatory two-year military conscription as living conditions and healthcare in barracks have notably improved.

Rain Appointed Honorary Ambassador of Military

Rain has been appointed this year′s military ambassador.

The singer, who currently serves as a PR agent for the Defense Media Agency (DEMA), attended the ceremony held at the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) on April 10 to receive his appointment plaque from the director of the MMA.

Director Kim asked Rain, as the newly-appointed ambassador, to "let the youth know that they should be proud and honored to be serving their military duties."

The ambassador role was previously taken up by Lee Dong Gun and Seo Ji Seok. "I will probably play a small role, but I′ll work hard to let people know about the changed conscription administration and have those who served their duties be more looked up to and honored in society," said Rain.

Rain began his promotions as the ambassador at the ceremony with a speech for the draftees who were there for their physical examinations and talked about his own experiences in the military.

Rain will be promoting the military by modeling for MMA and attending the military cultural festival during his year of service.

The singer enlisted in October 2011 and was transferred to DEMA mid-March.

Rain: It's a great honor, and I'll work hard as a honorary ambassador for MMA.

Rain ; I've been here for the first time in nearly 12 years. When I first went to

this place, it all felt very alien to me, but now I've been serving in the military, therefore it looks familiar.

Q : What advice would you give to your soldier mates who have broken up with their girlfriends since they joined the military?

Rain : Frankly, out of sight seems to be out of mind. They've had a hard time after breaking up with their girlfriends, so it would be better for the people (who are about to join the army) to enter the armed services when they have no girl friends.

Q ; What advice did the people around you give to you before your military service?

Rain ; Unlike the past, current soldiers are not rigorously controlled and the military service encourages much more flexible than before. If you have any doubts, make sure for yourself.
