People who meet me for the first time,

who haven't talked to me yet {so they don't know my obsession with kpop}

usually think I'm Chinese or Japanese. Korean never ever came up

when people first try and guess where I'm from.

.. except Koreans, they always know that I'm Korean, like strangers that are Korean too.

O_O

I've been mistaken for Japanese in Japan (I know every-day-life Japanese)

Halfer or Korean in the Philippines (I can ONLY read korean, but I am illiterate. My korean friend taught me haha.)

Chinese/Mixed in Hong Kong (my mom is the chinese looking one...)

In Canada, all of them.

I'm filo-chinese.

No one guesses that I'm Filipina the first time. Unless I open my mouth and talk =| or I hang out with someone they know who's Filipina.

And the way my name is spelt doesn't help either haha.

I agree with julz16. My skin color is light olive.

My eyes are a bit slanted up but its not noticable unless you see my profile.

And it is true, other Filipinos can't tell that I am one, but sometimes other Asians get my ethnicity right xD

hahaha, yup ALWAYS & EVERY TIME.. really seriously.. there were only 2 people in my whole life, who guessed right from the start or even at all, where I actually come from or my parents since I was already born and raised up here (germany)..

but people always think I'm Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Viet and so on, but never guess right.. so yeah, what's left?

............ *DING DING DING DING* ............ CORRECT, I'm a Flip (Filipino)..

but yeah I don't really look like a "typcial" Filipina, so I can't blame people.. so I just find it amusing and sometimes an honor to be istaken as for ex. as a Korean.. but yeah my great grandmother was Chinese and so I got the looks, or at least the eyes xD

last semester, some Indians in my classes thought I was Indian (as in South Asia).

Nope, African-American/Native American.

It was pretty funny/weird because that's the first time someone ever confused me for another ethnicity.

Yup. People usually think I’m 100% Dutch, but I’m not. I’m only half Dutch and I’m half Serbian. ^^ I do think they doubt my ethnicity when they see my surname, though '.' Ohwell. xD
