I'm Chinese, but when I was younger, people thought I was either Vietnamese or Chinese.

Now, it's either Korean, Japanese, or Chinese and less of Vietnamese..

Yes, i've been mistaken for being italian and being an

asian american. but somebody came close in guessing my

ethnicity, but he said i was 100% German, which isn`t true

cause i`m british-german. HAHA. ;D

People have asked me if I'm Korean, but usually they can tell I'm Chinese. Or they're just more inclined to guess Chinese since that's the most common Asian race in New York City.

happens all the time. i'm Lao/Thai/Chinese (but you can say im Lao with those mix) but i ALWAYS get mistaken as Filipina, Cambodian, full chinese, Korean, and Puerto Rician. im kinda used to it but the whole Korean part was SO random.

people never think i'm black.

i mean sure im mixed with a shtload of stuff, but they never assume that it's blk im mixed with.

they assume its rican, or honduran or dominican, or this other ethnicity...guyanese or something.

i get korean & vietnamese a lot.

just b/c my college has a lot of them.

and recently, i encountered a caucasian student in the elevator.

here's how the convo went....

him: are you chinese?

me: no.

him: mandarin?

me: *this guy's stupid* no.

him: cantonese?

me: *ok, this guy's really stupid* no, mandarin and cantonese are chinese languages.

him: oh. korean?

me: *YAY elevator door opens*

idk if he was being serious or really stupid, but it's a good thing i left before he could make an even bigger fool out of himself.

*sigh*

Man.. when I was younger, I used to get these all the time:

- Chinese

- Japanese

- Half White/Half Chinese

- [White] Mexican

And I've also had those people who've said, "I have no idea what you are. But I KNOW you're not asian, black, russian, etc etc etc."

But i'm filipino! Funny thing is, I live in the bay area... home of the filipinos -_-;

I'm Korean but everybody just assumes all Asians are Japanese.

It's soooo annoying. >.>!!

When they say I'm not Japanese, then they go Chinese, and then go way down the list of Asian ethnicities until they reach Korean. -_-

Oh yeees a lot . . .

People thinks that I come from West Indies but I come from Guinea(Africa) and Polska and they don't belive me just because it's an uncommon "mixage" -_________-
