Normally, I wouldn't be so quick to believe rumors... and even though I don't know either of you, somehow I'm able to believe you both because I'm not getting a "mysterious" vibe from you guys. Thank you so much for that news! It makes me so happy... this is not the first time I've had thoughts that Jaebums return is 100% happening.

Though Kabler, never says what's to come... she's been hinting that we wait until the end of Feb or the beginning of March before we freak out on JYPE. This made me believe it was about Jaebums return. As well as that rumor from that girl whose unnie was a coordi @ Spris and she also said it was 100% confirmed that he was returning.

All 4 of these things are of course rumors... but, the fact that more then 1 source is coming out with their own story leads me to believe that it is true... we will be getting our leadja back! I'm so excited, and I hope it really does happen. His comeback will make kpop history. HOTTESTS, can you imagine the kind of reaction that'll happen when he returns?! 2PM will become even BIGGER... they'll be cash cows and OWNING 2010! I'm looking forward to April (and the end of Feb, to see what's going to happen.. if this will be confirmed, or what! ^^)... let's hang in there, Hottests! Idol is the best painkiller ever. On one day, when the song ‘Tell me’ by Wonder Girls just started to gain its popularity, we were all very exhausted from having to work all night long in the special imaging room. CG (computer graphics) specialists were working so hard to make it in time for the scheduled broadcasting hours. However, just as ‘Tell Me’ was on TV, all of them stopped working for the moment, like they have planned for it, and turned their heads toward the TV. A short period of delightful silence, and they were feeling extreme sympathy for each other. As the song ended the staffs were drawing deep sighs and their eyes went straight back to the monitors. Indeed, idols were much better stimulants and painkillers than the coffee I, the producer of the show, had brought to cheer them up.

The hottest painkiller of the era would be 2PM. They seemed to be very busy singing ‘Heartbeat’ at the Year Ending Awards but not just that, three of their songs ranked #1 in a row in such short period. The ‘beating heart’ choreography of 2PM expresses this very essence of idols, as much as Kara’s ‘butt dance’ does. Full of energy, and passionate heart, that liveliness and charm. ‘The heart that you stepped all over and left is still beating’. As uncles nodded their heads to Kara’s butt dance, Noona’s heart beats like crazy from 2PM’s fist on the heart. The climax is reached when the powerful energy of ‘Beast Idol’ meets the sad touching song and choreography, and the shouting from fans.

However, till when would we be together. This is not a question by me, but a question from the intro of G.O.D’s 4th album. How is the destiny and lifespan of an idol determined? To quote an expression used by Kim Gyu-Hang ten years ago, idols are ‘industrial products’. They are cultural products, who were planned and controlled thoroughly from programs and systems. Products that have passed the expiration date leave the tears from fans, and disband or join the army. 2PM has already lost its leader Jaebum by the public and the press, who violently responded towards the ‘Issue of degrading Korea’. Of course, the individual members will continue to live their lives as talented artists but certainly there is a limit to the planned product named ‘2PM’. And that will be decided by the spectrum of the Idol Business, and by the public demand.

On the other hand, till when will we be able to take comfort from them. In the movie ‘Memories of Matsuko’, after Matsuko, who never gave up on love, became betrayed by everyone, the last thing she rely her life upon (with her enlarged body) was to become a fan of an idol. Sweet words of love and their beautiful figures brought life to her body for a short second. But that was as far as it got to; the idol could not entirely change Matsuko’s whole life. It has been usual that the popular culture is being loved as the comforting business and as the pain-killing business. However, the popular culture that arose from the people actually avoids the people as it becomes more industrialized. It’s very clear that it’s even boring. We are the customers of idols, not the producers of idols. We shortly get pain-killing shots from listening to the singing and dancing of the lively and charming youths, when our daily life is tiring. Also, the idols themselves are closer to the results of cultural industry, as it is hard to call them the proper owner of their dancing and their music. Then, who is the owner of the comfort and pleasure that are being shared. Are the products of popular culture really just narcotics. Isn’t it more true to say that they are resulting in even deeper social neglect than rescuing people’s souls. What is the validity of the liveliness and charm of idols.

Back to 2PM. There was a variable to them that could never be expected from the start. It was the incident where the leader Jaebum quit in an instant, and left to the US. Since idols are still the matter of humans, the members and the fans left behind expressed hard feelings toward the absence of the leader. The next album was prepared with the absence of one member, and they accepted the lack, the longing feelings, and the vacancy as a member of the group. And so, 2PM’s performances became equipped not only with the already existing masculinity and energy, but have been taken even further with sincerity and sad earnest feelings. The industrially produced idols were given a new meaning and position in the context of society. The album was neither produced by the public, nor did they produce it by themselves. However, they became a new form of idol. They stood as the proof of the violence of the public and the press, and expressed the absence on stage. People watch their performance of ‘Heartbeat’, be filled with admiration, and draw deep sighs at the same time. If that boy had been here. Who ever had the right to take the stage away from the boy. 2PM now has a ‘story’. They are not just another idol that sing ‘happy endings’, and smile so beautifully. They now have become an idol that has the pitiful and frustrating story of waiting for someone.

If idols are indeed painkillers, our society now seems to require a lot of them. The parade of idols still continues, and people never seem to be bored even though they are pouring out rapidly in countless numbers. And like that’s not enough, they bring out the idols from the past and share stories about the old times. It may be true that the liveliness and charm idols show us are proportional to those of the society. People hopelessly rely their souls on the planned sparkling youth in TV, as the real world is more somber.

However, at the moment when their sweet comfort full of life returns to the disgusting reality, the crash feels so bitter. Then we realize. The happy ending we’ve been shown is just a deception between the audience and the popular culture. That it has to make us forget about the reality.

However, 2PM became to embrace the sickening reality into their team without any intension. It has become fundamentally impossible for them to suggest a neat happy ending. Nevertheless, for that reason, 2PM represents the small hope that the popular culture may suggest to us. There are too many happy endings in TV, but too little exist outside the TV. But it is possible that the great tragedy, which reflects the true misfortune in life, can give us even bigger pleasure as the ultimate solution for forgetting the reality. The satisfaction of facing up to reality, the merciless pleasure, the same catharsis as listening to sad music when feeling down. The current popular culture or culture industry is in need of such great tragedy. And that is why 2PM, suffering from unintentional lack, is grateful. As the energy to restore the group and the absence of a person leave the people, who enjoy idols, with unforgettable discomfort and make them feel pity. And that discomfort and frustration will cause them to feel and think of the reality.

Hi! I don't usually post here (which is obvious cuz it's just my 2nd post to date) but now I really feel the urge to do so..

Woah..the rumors... I've been following (aka lurking) this thread for some time now, and have noticed a lot of happy-sounding rumors. But the latest 2 are just, whew~ @xdaisiesx and @ homiann13, please, let it be true. I'm sensing a very positive vibe from the 2 of view, just like Kabler. keke Now, I'm starting to wonder what ever am I gonna do when Jay's back (will I cry? shout? brawl? or just go speechless--), sigh~ that would really be one awesome day!!! The reunion of 7 membered 2pm, and of Hottests as well--? O_O kekeke

I just have to agree with some points in the article, about 2pm being our hope in the midst of idols being regarded just as "commercial products" where idols almost always represent cute and cuddly images, which makes us all warm and giddy inside.

2pm is indeed one unique group, from their debut, they have showed an image that set them apart from other idol bandwagons. The term beast-idols just suits them, for their "beastliness", "imperfections", "dorkiness"...made them somehow more real to us fans, which somehow make us a bit connected to them at some point. They are idols that fans can be reached. not just simply adored for their awesomeness because they don't seem to care too much of their image or of how perfectly perfect and they will look to people... like 7 normal, growing boys who just happened to be so talented and hot. keke

Sadly, another thing that made them different was the plight that they have to experience bcuz of the whole incident. How unfortunate and sad it may seem to be, it actually made them more human to us. The transparency of their emotions (thru fancams, interviews...) let us fans know that they are also hurting...and also waiting. Their every song, everytime they sing HB or TOW...or everytime we see an empty space in AAA or an unsung part of IHY, seems like they are always reminding us of what had happened. They never ignored or made fans forget that their leader is gone. It is really an unusual feeling, when first part you spazz, and last part you say... gosh, I miss him. The truth always hits us again and again, like a conspiracy boomerang... Like what the article said,

sad but true...We usually regarded idols as painkillers, but this time, we opted to kill the pain by actually recognizing that the pain does exist, without letting it be drowned by the deceiving entertainment world.

However,also included is the reality of a possible return eh? That after all that the boys and Hottests have gone through... a happier situation may await. What has happened has bruised all of us..especially the boys. But it has indeed helped us mature in some way, in the way we look at them, and in the way we treat each other. Haha...sometimes, I used to look back at how things turned out this way...it was indeed epic. (but Jay's comeback would make it legendary..)

After all, in the real world, not everything is perfect... but things will indeed be better.. I hope. <3

my brother works for JYPE New York Branch. He just heard from the R&D department staff from JYPE Korea that their original plan is to have Jaebeom come back either in September this year 2010 or January next year 2011. However, due to Korean fans' heated response to the plan (Korean fans know a lot of insider information) JYPE is in the process of deciding whether they should bring Jaebeom back for the next album slated for an April release. The concept would be something like American 90s pop, with rather brighter mood instead of going for charismatic and dark concepts. JYP already finished composing three songs, one of which is already decided to be included in the mini-album. There is also a high chance that the original version of the tracks in 1:59PM album with Jay's voice will be included in this album, and instead of a mini-album, they will release a Vol 1.5 album with 4 or 5 new songs and the rest are 1:59PM's songs with Jay's voice. It all depends on the final decision regarding whether to bring Jaebeom back next month or not.

Moreover, there is one important insider info: it seems that if Jaebeom does come back, JYPE will possibly form a project group consisting of 2PM and a trainee. They are thinking of a stage name called "Mystery" for that trainee.

So for those of you who are hopeful, a lot of exciting things are waiting ahead.

But there's also a possibility that they will NOT bring Jaebeom back.

it's true I also share your sentiments. Particularly because this time, that one infamous person also said that Jay will be back so I'm skeptical.

Anyway I will just wait and see.

I hope the next album will present something more lively because after watching so many depressed Heartbeat performances, I'm kinda tired of this dark concept that has been going with 2PM since their Time for Change album. I want to see something like 10/10 or Only You again, when they danced and sang joyfully.

When xdaisiesx3 gave us the news, I though: well, 2PM will come back with 7 members. That's amazing !!! that's what all of us are waiting for. But about 2 second later, I just thought: 7, but what if there is no Jay??? what if there would be another member, a NEW one??? I was scared when I thought about that

When I read the tip from silence457, I realize that my scary thinking could be true..... I said this not because I want to let u guys feel upset or something, I just want to share my thought coz I was really really scared .... I dont want that thing comes true..... NEVER.....

But I think the probability for Jay to come back is much more than the probability that 2PM would get a new member. Because every member are waiting 4 Jay,

because ppl are almost forgive him, or understand the situation clearly

because of all the efforts of K-HOTTEST as well as I-HOTTEST .....
