EMI was bought by Universal Records. :) When YEH went to China she told the reporter that EMI was bought by Universal and when reporter asked her if she plans on continuing her music career in Japan, she said no....but she signed with them for her Japanese activities. Universal focuses on music while EMI focuses on music and actors. So who knows maybe she has future projects there lined up.

Here's another good deed from YEH... Lee Kwang Hee designer for top 1% of the richest koreans, is planting mango trees in Africa because 10~20,000 won in Africa can plant a mango tree. So, she established a mango planting project in Africa near high schools, places for homeless, orphanage and etc...

Now she's opening a bazarre at her boutique store and she will not only serve mango juice, but she will sell items donated by Cha bum geun (soccer legend who loves YEH), Cha doori (His son, soccer player), Son Ye Jin, Yoon Eun Hye, Lee Min Jung and etc...

Lee Kwang Hee said she chose mango tress because she saw people in Africa eat them and they bear fruit twice a year for 100 years. So.she thought it would be great source of food for many orphans in Africa..

So she's collecting donations from people, and also holding a bazarre at her boutique store to sell items to raise money...

YEH's younger brother is friends of Cha bum Geun's son Cha doori the soccer player's younger brother. LOL this is like the YEH's friends network since Son Ye Jin is also YEH's close friend.

Just incase some people dont know who Cha bum Geun and Cha doori are and wonder how they know YEH, here's the story:

http://yooneunhye.net/blog/korean-soccer-legend-cha-bum-geun-praises-yoon-eun-hye/

cr: CDBLOOM@YEH,NET

On June 22, Korean football/soccer legend Cha Bum Geun surprised netizens when he revealed his acquaintance with Yoon Eun Hye. He then revealed an episode with Yoon Eun Hye to the fans in his Q&A section on social network, me2day.net.

Cha Bum Geun is the greatest Korean football/soccer legend, as he was the first Korean to play overseas and dominate the German league when the league was considered the best in the world. He also served previously as the manager of the Korean World Cup team. His son, Cha Du Ri is also one of the most popular players on the current World Cup team.

Cha Bum Geun, who manages in the Korean Football League, currently works as the popular analyst for the 2010 World Cup. He was recently asked by many fans regarding his ability to talk and relate to the younger generation. He stated that he is able to talk and relate to young people because he enjoys interacting with his children’s friends.

One of Sae Jjie’s friend is Yoon Eun Hye’s younger brother. His name is Bahn Seok and he virtually lived at our house. One day, we were watching a loud awards ceremony when my wife gave me a number and asked me to make a call. But my cell phone wouldn’t work so I asked what this was all about. Ban Seok who was next to me said his sister has to win an award and they were also voting by ARS. My entire family sat there trying to make the phone call, but we weren’t able to get the vote through.

Later when Du Ri was getting married, we got a letter from Yoon Eun Hye. She thanked us for being so kind to her brother. She even gave us lots of congratulatory money.

I was told that she’s only two years older than my youngest child, but isn’t she very considerate and proper?

My wife was very moved and touched by the letter. She still has that letter kept in the family housekeeping account book. And she praises Yoon Eun Hye, whenever she sees or hears about her.

[ Sae Jjie and Du Ri are Cha Bum Geun's sons. ARS is just an automated phone voting system. Congratulatory money is given at weddings to help with the expenses of starting a new family, since Korea's housing costs are very high. ]

I always like watching/seeing YEH interaction with other people or in this case her colleagues (actors/actresses/singer). No matter how old the other person is (be older or younger than her) she always act as the one who's taking care of them. Most of her co-actor/actress always praise her attitude. I bet she will be a good mother in the future biggrin.gif

BTW, while browsing I came across an interesting article. It might be an old one and not talking about YEH in particular but about life after K-pop/being an idol in general, but nevertheless it still interesting. This article can describe the difficulty of an (ex) idol like YEH in making the transition into an actor/soloist

In life after K-pop, Son seeks new niche

Aug 12,2010

The Korean pop scene has long been dominated by “idol groups,” those ever-present bands that churn out bubblegum music and consist of members in their teens or early 20s.

But these idols have to grow up at some point. As they age, members of K-pop groups must prepare for life on their own. It’s a daunting task fraught with emotional hurdles and professional challenges, as these former teen stars often find themselves performing in front of much smaller crowds and struggling to gain a following.

Only a few, Lee Hyo-ri and Yoon Eun-hye among them, have succeeded in surviving after the K-pop light fades. Lee once led the four-member girl group Fin.K.L., while Yoon was a member of the girl group Babyvox. Both have managed to handle the transition extraordinarily well, with Lee enhancing her singing career and Yoon carving a niche in the world of acting.

Among the nation’s many former idols, Son Ho-young is one of the few who continues to pursue a singing career, as most try their hand at acting or professional dancing.

Leaving behind his glamorous days, the 31-year-old - who recently wrapped up a concert at a small hall - is striving to shed his idol image and earn recognition as a genuine musician.

With his bashful smile, Son was once bombarded with letters and presents from fans when he performed with g.o.d., also known as Groove Over Dose, a five-member K-pop group. But the band went downhill when member Yoon Kye-sang left in 2004, and g.o.d. broke up in 2005.

Son, who debuted as a vocalist in the group at 19, is now 31. He recently sat down with the JoongAng Ilbo to talk about his transition to life after K-pop.

Q. You used to have concerts in huge stadiums with tens of thousands of seats, but now you perform in small venues with room for just a couple hundred fans. How have you handled the transition?

A. In those days, I probably wouldn’t even think of having concerts in such a small venue, but I’ve realized that I can have fun in that type of atmosphere as opposed to a huge stadium. You can even see the faces of fans who are seated in the back of the venue. But you also have to be well-prepared for the concert, because you can’t cover up your mistakes.

Q. Is it profitable to perform in small venues?

A. It’s not lucrative at all. After a single concert, you can maybe earn about 1 million won ($833). It’s hard to make a living. To be honest, if I sing a couple of songs at a nightclub I can earn 20 times more than in a small concert hall. But I prefer to sing in the concert halls while interacting with my fans.

Q. Many former idols struggle to maintain stardom after their groups disband.

A. I know I still have a long way to go. But I have tried hard. In order to shed my image as a pretty-face idol, I had to go back to basics. I learned how to breathe when singing and get into a rhythm for eight hours a day. I even went to swimming classes to learn how to hold my breath for a long time. I never did that when I was a member of g.o.d. The members of TVXQ shouldn’t think their popularity will last forever. If they carry that mentality with them when they go solo, the public will give them the cold shoulder.

Q. Idols are literally everywhere when you turn on TV. What’s your strategy to survive?

A. I believe the only way that I can compete with them is to prove that I can sing. After I decided to go solo, I did the musical “All Shook Up” 100 times, and I also held about 20 concerts at small halls. I also took lessons to learn how to play the piano and acoustic guitar. Other singers usually have concerts for two hours, but mine are around two and a half hours because I don’t want to disappoint my fans.
