Yoon Eun-hye flies to Singapore in style

Korean accessories brand Samatha Thavasa released photos of its model, actress Yoon Eun-hye, ahead of her departure to Singapore Wednesday.

Yoon flew to Singapore for an event with hair color and haircare brand L'Oreal Professional Paris, for which she is also a contract model.

In the photo, actress Yoon carries the Samatha Thavasa handbag she currently advertises in its spring-summer campaign, named the "Rebecca" bag.

Yoon also wears a horizontal black-and-white stripe top with acid-wash skinny jeans. She accessorized with white-rimmed circular sunglasses and a matching red lipstick and manicure.

Yoon, who began her career as a K-pop singer in 1999, has transitioned to acting, starring in popular TV dramas such as "Coffee Prince."

She recently concluded filming scenes for the upcoming film "Love After Love," in which she will star opposite actor Park Si-hoo, who makes a return to acting after a two-year hiatus.

“Love After Love” made an appearance at the 11th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair on May 14.

It seems the Shenzhen investor has a booth in the Shenzhen Film and Television Industry Society pavilion and they introduced the movie to the media in a press conference.

We met up with Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye, who was in Singapore recently to attend fashion week. Here’s what the star is like in person

 

 

 

If there’s one thing Korean artiste agencies are known for, it has got to be the amount of micromanagement that goes into every celebrity event.

So of course a “try our luck” request for a photo with Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye was politely – but flatly – rejected by her management.

It came complete with regretful frowns and bows as we were ushered out of the hotel room.

But barely before we could take 10 steps down the corridor, we were hurriedly called back in by her management. “She feels bad,” they said, and we got our photo, a hug even.

This is why Eun Hye is an A-lister, a colleague turned around to say.

While Eun Hye bears a lot of resemblance to the typical female Korean star – the perfectly poised, multi-talented girl who looks well under her actual age – you won’t find the usual well-rehearsed answers or occasional displays of boredom that some celebrities can be prone to.

Case in point: In a press conference for the L’Oreal Professionnel brand ambassador’s visit, local host Pornsak had engaged in rather lively, though at times sarcastic, banter with Eun Hye.

Even as she glossed through a “sensitive” question about fellow personality Kim Jong Kook – teased for his supposed affection of her on a now-defunct reality television show from about a decade ago – the actress showed no sign of displeasure.

But what impressed us most was her reaction to Pornsak when he reached over to tug at the hem of her dress after she had commented on it being a little too short for the stage. We could hear the entire room gasp – that’s one thing you should not do to a Korean star.

Eun Hye showed slight discomfort, but stood at her spot and remained calm, even reaching out to shake his hand before leaving the stage.

We got to see more of Eun Hye’s personality during our interview.

The self-professed beauty junkie sat right beside us and spoke at length about her personal beauty tips, listing down points and pausing every few sentences to make sure the translator got what she said.

They’re surprisingly quick and easy to do, and her skin serves as perfect evidence of how effective her tips are. It was poreless, plump and had a translucent quality to it; you could tell that it was not a look achieved with makeup.

And for the rest of the session, well, you already know.

It’s not the most flattering picture – the bunch of us look incredibly short and well, less V-shaped, beside Eun Hye and her five-inch heels – and the agreement was to keep it offline, but it goes to show that not all Korean celebrities and their agencies are as nasty as they seem to be.

Eun Hye, you’re an A-lister all right.

Earlier this week, L’Oréal Professionnel invited their first Asian spokesperson, Yoon Eun Hye, to an appearance at the fashion hair show which took place in conjunction with the Singapore Fashion Week.

At the press conference, the top Hallyu star shared her delight at being Asia’s first brand spokesperson for L’Oréal Professionnel and added that it was an honour to be appointed with this title for her favourite brand.

Clad in a feminine and classy dress to match with her rich hair color, Yoon Eun Hye revealed that she did V-shape hair coloring and layering in order to bring out a natural and sophisticated V-Look style, one of the hottest hairdos that can make one’s face look slimmer.

On her interest in fashion and beauty, Yoon Eun Hye keeps up with the latest trends by frequently looking up on the internet and fashion magazines to see what’s in trend. Besides going to the salons, the fashion guru also emphasizes on the importance of home remedies for hair care.

Adding on to the V-Look style, we also had the opportunity to meet celebrity stylist Cha Hong at the press conference, who shared some tips and tricks on looking fabulous with this in-salon haircut and color service that will be introduced at all L’Oréal Professionnel partner salons starting from June this year.

The highly sought-after hair stylist revealed that the V-Look style is particularly created for Asian consumers, which involves a layering of hair color that frames around the face, making one’s face look more youthful and slimmer.

At the press conference, Yoon Eun Hye also addressed her current works, saying that she recently concluded filming for the movie ‘After Love‘, a Chinese-Korean collaboration film scheduled for release in the later half of this year, which will mark her comeback to the big screen.

Besides hoping to film more movies this year, the actress disclosed that she would also like to participate and meet the audience through beauty-related survival programs or variety shows.

When asked about her possible appearance on SBS popular variety show ‘Running Man‘ as well as whether she would like to be in the same team as Kim Jong Kook, she seemed a little flustered but did not completely avoid the question, responding that “Running Man PDs will definitely set us in the same team no matter what”.

The actress was embroiled in a love line with Kim Jong Kook since the X-Man days in 2005 which became a hot topic that is still often being teased to this day. The Twitter campaign launched by SBS in early February this year to gather 10,000 retweets for Yoon Eun Hye to guest star on ‘Running Man’ has already accrued over 33,000 retweets, making fans eagerly hoping for a possible reunion of this couple.

Finally, the Hallyu star wrapped up the press conference as she talked about the definition of ‘true beauty’, saying that inner beauty is the most important key to being a true beauty, as one’s attractiveness should not be solely characterized by their physical appearance. Definitely some wise words from the beauty icon, we’d say.
