jaykidding
I'm definitely more of an English person; I've always excelled more in English than in Math. I'm Chinese, btw.
Guest Pylades Drunk
Chinese. Both, actually. My family is coked up on math genes; my dad wrote two textbooks on nonlinear something something something, and developed his own theory. No surprise. Mandatory before receiving a PhD in mathematics. Math is a powerful subject, really. Psychology is applied biology, biology is applied chemistry, chemistry is applied physics, and physics, well, applied math. Math rules the entire field of science as we know it. And math, as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, is a whole 'nother scenario in itself. It consists of man's knowledge and of man's ability to pursue the facts. We'll explore and explore and explore, but we'll never have everything that surrounds this thing we call 'math' figured out. It tries to be simple, really. In its complexity, it offers structure, validity, one answer. But, oh ho ho ho. And English. Oh my gaw. Without literature, I doubt man could find salvation in this ruined rubble of humanity's cat-and-mouse game. To think, without philosophy? The atrocity! To not speak of it! English, with its paradox of grammar, juxtaposition of 'trash' and 'refinement' is what makes man worthy of freedom. I cannot imagine living without Hugo's words or Serling's contradictions; and no matter how much Shakespeare just seems to ramble for the sake of rambling, one does take awe at the man's skill in Portia's "The Quality of Mercy". I can pass the course at the end of the year But when I comes down to it, I'm about clueless =__= I'm more of an English person. I don't really like all the essays and indepth thinking I have to do though But I do decently well in English class *knock on wood* Truthfully, I suck all all my courses HAHA. Guest x soo freshh
I'm Viet, and I think I'm equally good at Math and English. Sometimes, I have those days where I might be better in English than I am in Math, or the other way around, if that makes any sense.
Guest icookii
I'm Viet :] Welll, I always believe that I'm good at math, until English, I somehow get good scores and I like writing essays somehow. Maybe because english wasn't my first language and I wasn't very confident about it when I was little because I'm not very enthusiastic about it now... Guest hearte
ethnicity? filipino english or math? for me it's both, depending on what we're doing. for english, i love creative writing, for math, i love easy stuff that i actually get, and i'm good at. but i personally dislike analyzing things, and doing study on books i hate! > and for math, doing functions and graphing and hard things that i have no idea why we're learning because we'll never use it in the real world unless we grow up to be great mathematicians or something u__u;! haha, that's the end of my rant.
