Joo Jinmo 주진모

Unfortunately, I can't open the video from Flowers in Fog filming in France that @QuercusL posted, but I've seen several videos from French channels I can't find now, but I remember some things from it:
- they interviewed a local man while the crew was filming in a village street, he said: I know Chinese are shooting here, so I came to see some Kung Fu, but unfortunately it's a different genre, so there's no Kung Fu.. :D- about Joo Jin Mo he said: I think this is the bad guy.. ;))I don't blame him, JJM does look fierce at times, I'm not sure I'd survive a stare like this one (BTW, he had great chemistry with Li Sheng too, in particular in the beginning when they were supposed to be enemies):

1t0a.jpg

-  the castle owner was paid 20 000 euro for landing her property, she said she'll use the money for some restorative works
-  local souvenir and other goods shop owners were very happy with a Chinese crew filming in their village, because they thought it would attract more (Chinese) tourists to this part of France (which is generally overlooked)
- the Music academy JJM's character was running was hosted in the local town hall.
:)>-

@meelis : you know, we should call you now JJM's lucky charm, everytime you're away something happens :)) (the fact thiggy)

Did you see that S-line? how can he not be the calientiest man in Korea, i've read better nicknames for him, in a spanish blog it was 'Dios de la Muerte' =)) or "Bishie de la muerte" (in a french blog) eitherway Joo Jin Mo is always associated with the Death 'Muerte' :)) i understand them, like the pic that @meelis posted he's dangerous for the global warming, his lazer eyes alone can melt the Antarctica (ok i'm loosing it hahaha), when i started watching EK, i was always like that...

Shocked.png

I've seen almost all k-actors in action, i even took a long break of dramas (before watching Empress Ki), and just watched k-movies and i can tell you that he's the ONLY ONE with that intensity (all generations included), it's effortlessly intense at least for me.

Hahaha, @sarah.lina, IKR, so be prepared for my next trip, it will be from 10 to 14 September... :D
I couldn't agree more with you about his intensity and I also like very much what Kwak Kyung Taek said about his energy, they have many great actors in Korea, but JJM has this really electrifying presence which makes him stand out from the crowd.  :x
Plus, he makes each character his own, thus making it impossible to imagine another actor in his roles (I have a favorite game to try to substitute the actors in a movie with other actors and imagine how it would be). Now, can you think of someone (because I can't) who would be a better king in AFF, or Jin Ha, or Wang Yoo, or his character in Love etc, or even the guy in 200 lbs beauty (when I watched it for the first time I didn't like the character, thought it was bland and anybody could play it, but when I recently re-watched the movie I gave myself an account that I could easily hate the character if JJM didn't manage to make him lovable). OMG, I forgot, can you imagine the bed scenes in Happy End without that calientiest body :D

@meelis : So we will hear a casting offer within 14 Days ;)

About 200 Pounds Beauty, Joo Jin Mo made his character likable, because Kim Ah Joong was the one to root for, even when she refused her father i wanted to slap her, and the scene where he's bashing the fan for taking pictures awww first time i wanted to slap JJM :)).

I don't know if anyone has noticed but Joo Jin Mo played in lots of Women-oriented movies, i remember Won Bin refusing the drama "That winter the wind blows" because Kim Tae Hee's character [it was offered to kim tae hee at first but she somehow didn't do it and song hye gyo was choosen] had too much scenes, it made me like JJM even more, like in a MBC interview when he said because the title of the Drama is Empress Ki he should let Ha Ji Won speak, so gentleman of him.
8->

@yoonhanna24: if ever Joo Jin Mo finally accept Running Man they will make him appearing at the end doing the final mission like Jung Woo Sung (they let big stars play all along like Ha Ji Won, Choi Ji Woo, Kim Sun Ah, Moon Geun Young only because they are actresses) , but it could be hilarious to see Kwang Soo and Joo Jin Mo together curious about their dynamics knowing how they love to joke around.

@sarah.lina, I actually wanted to slap JJM in 200 Pounds Beauty twice, the first time was in the bathroom, when he talked to Amy and Hanna overheard their conversation, he hurt her so badly with his words, I hated him. The second was in the same scene you mentioned, that guy was adorable. I think that with the poor script he had for his character, JJM still managed to make him likable as you said, not a jerk.(well, it's a pleasant change, I usually want to slap him because of the noble idiocy / sacrifice of his other characters :D)

It's crazy 8-}. I'm feeling right now like a Wong Kar Wai character in his segment called The Hand from the Eros omnibus movie. It's a beautiful, hypnotic and melancholic gem of a short movie about love and lust symbolized by a (woman's) hand. I recommend it to anyone who likes this type of cinema...

@meelis : @minnie0103 said that it was a gift from a fan (the cartier bracelet) and Joo Jin Mo asked her to put it herself, her hands were shaking ;))

(well, it's a pleasant change, I usually want to slap him because of the noble idiocy / sacrifice of his other characters ) => THIS, i think i prefer virtually slapping him when he's mean than when he's letting himself suffer for the greater cause, even more after finishing Punch today. That's what attracted me so much in 'A Frozen Flower' they have shown the two sides in it, Gongmin being overly in love of Jo In Sung's character, but after being stepped down, he gone completely crazy and started killin' everything near his lover... he won me over when he brought that horse when that betrayer spent his time learning the kama-sutra with his lover's wife after that, i was cheering alongside him (even if the death of his companions saddened me). But i had no affection for JIS's character... maybe i had the Gongmin syndrome...

Eros? i should try ddl it :D

Ok to finish this post a little rant about 'Punch' KILL THAT WITCH, KILL THAT WITCH!!!

and his CAMERA!!!!!

@sara.lina again the image under spoiler is invisible :( I thought the same about Shin Min Ah's character in Punch so would love to see how did you illustrate you thoughts :)

@sarah.lina, I can't see the pic in the spoiler either. :) LOL at the witch (But I didn't really hate her, I knew all along that she loved him and will forgive him eventually, plus I think he HAD to go through all the pain, it was his way to atonement and (self)-forgiveness).
But in AFF, I felt the same, I only sympathized with the king (that was the power of JJM's mesmerizing acting, I only had eyes for him) and wouldn't mind if he killed them all for betraying his love and trust. >:) (I read an AFF review years ago, in which the author said she was scared HL and the queen would be hurt when the king was searching the library and she was screaming "Don't find them, don't find them!".. Well, I would scream the same thing for the exactly opposite reasons, I just didn't want the king to be heartbroken, I didn't care at all about the queen and HL...)
Off topic:About Eros, if you can find and ddl only Wong Kar Wai's segment named The Hand, that would be enough, the other two segments by Michelangelo Antonioni and Steven Soderbergh are dispensable. Well, Soderbergh's is watchable, mainly if you you're a Robert Downey Jr. fan, but Antonioni, sorry, he was a great master but his last piece in Eros is meaningless and nothing more than a soft porn, or maybe it has deeper meaning but I didn't get it (I know he was already over 90 y/o back then and paralyzed after a stroke, but I don't think it was an excuse, the Japanese director Kaneto Shindo was 99 y/o and on a wheelchair when he made his last movie, Postcard, and still it was a great and touching one with a very humanistic message). OK, I stop, because I talk too much for an off topic...  :D

@yoonhanna24, I know you're a Running man fan, I watched a random video from it, because I didn't actually know what it was about. So now I'm almost 100% sure that JJM wouldn't agree to join it. But, well, maybe time will prove me wrong.  :)

Haha, one of the first things I read here in Soompi when I visited it for the first time some years ago was about Korean A-listers, several characteristics were listed, one of which was exactly: They don't participate in variety shows.  :)
I think more or less this has become a rule, with some exceptions, of course (if I remember it correctly, @sarah.lina said Jo In Sung already was on RM?).

@ElinaG & @meelis : you can't see the picture?... me neither :)) *sorry*

Ok, because i've just finished watching 'Punch', i will do my little rant, so for those who still didn't watched the drama, don't open the spoiler tags ;)

1. KILL THAT WITCH!!!!

Punch-Sung_Si-Kyung.jpg
and his camera... ewww you thought it was Jang Yu-Bin (Shin Min Ah)? No... this man, i can't even express myself how much i killed him in my own movie, not only i have FF all his scenes but even the ones where he's with Lee Han-Sae (Joo Jin Mo)!, you understand the extent, basically he's a pervert that went looking at a karaoké for his next model, then he's forcing his love on her and is mocking everytime Lee Han-Sae!!! YOU JUST DON'T TOUCH MY HAN-SAE-OPPA!!

2. NOBLE IDIOCY AT ITS PEAK

Punch-Shin_Min-A.jpg
What an amazing chemistry she had with Joo Jin Mo in the first half of the drama, but i wasn't prepared to that level of noble idiocy even after being spoiled by some of you... If i have to sum up Jang Yu-Bin (Shin Min Ah) life and Lee Han-Sae (Joo Jin Mo) life, it would have been like that.
Jang Yu-Bin: Lost her old brother when she was young, she had two solutions, killing herself or try to live on.
Lee Han-Sae: Killed his opponent in a Box Match, he had two solutions, killing himself or try to live on.

But when JYB found out about LHS "killing" her brother, she kept calling him murderer and rubbing salt in the wound, LHS lost his soul after killing her brother, he did his best to "pay his debt" but keeping telling him that he killed her brother, like this, like that ect... is the worst for someone who is still traumatized about this event. I understand her pov, but in my opinion LHS's character is the most fragile one, he didn't mean to kill him nor he did cheat, he just played his match, her brother didn't wanted to surrender but he accepted to fight in that match, the box is a dangerous sport so he's aware of the consequences.

3. AWESOME CHARACTERS

Punch-Joo_Jin-Mo.jpgPunch-Jo_Hye-Ryun.jpgPunch-So_Yi-Hyeon.jpgPunch-Kim_Mi-Suk.jpgPunch-Jung_Si-Woo.jpg

Joo Jin Mo (Lee Han-Sae) had one hell of a chemistry with Kim Mi Sook, playing his mother not only that actress is charismatic (love her) but her character is the epitome of awesomeness.
Ju Ae-Ri (Jo Hye Ryun) & Frog (Jung Si Woo): they were always there supporting Lee Han-Sae. (ps: should add the breast cancer girl, loved her too)

Now i'm going to talk about the typical bi**** played by So E Hyun, i couldn't bring myself to hate her, i cannot understand why, it's not like she was angel, it's far from that, she was a brat, but she's the one that gave honor and dignity to Lee Han-Sae when he was actively being stepped down by the witch and the noble-idiocy-girl and it does help that Joo Jin Mo had an awesome chemistry with her!!!! love their bickering lol and she gave us some fanservices scenes too, pulling up his t-shirt to show his abs to everyone or making him running all over the appart just with his underwear, PRAISE THAT GIRL ;))

It will not change the fact that i loved Lee Han-Sae to the same extent as i loved Wang Yoo (i did virtually slapped them the same number of times too :)) )

@sara.lina  :(( can't see the pictures :(( but all you said about Punch, I think the same. And I can add 3 points. This could be my favorite drama if not:1. The Witch. this stony face not behaving at all, just stock on the screen. How could they let it be such a weak leading actor :(2. Jang Yu Bin in the second helf of the drama behaved as a richard simmons. I could punch HER!3. The saleswoman, don't remember her name. She was so lovely character, I loved her from the first moment up to the wedding. How could she merry this guy?!?!?! I was 100% sure she is going to choose the bald guy, he was much more likable.

@ElinaG : just load the page with an another bowser that's what i do when i can't see the picture. And yes! If not for the first two points, i could recommend 'Punch' much more than his other dramas to someone who wants to know a little about Joo Jin Mo... WHAT AN ACTING!! was it really in 2003? his acting was better here than in Bichunmoo! Well, i think he has some though moments understanding the character like in 'A Better Tomorrow' his acting in the first half wasn't on par from his previous movie 'A Frozen Flower'.

Oh yes the bald guy, i love him but i didn't hate the other either, so i just let it go i was that pissed with SMA's character and what she did to JJM's charac.... His last match, i think that was one of most painful scene that i've watched of him. awwwww.

I'm watching Sad Temptation... OMG! Joo Jin Mo is playing a gay Don Juan =)) =)) he's clearly seducing Kim Gap Soo's character with his body, i can't hahaha but his acting is so good here too, and this man is seriously rocking the 90s look!!!!! WOW!!! how can in more than 14 years he doesn't change a bit?? Particularly the shower scene, they have shown nothing (i should gif it) but the editing  and the plan was done so well... that i think it was the most sexy shower scene i've seen in my kdrama life (and like i said they have shown pratically nothing of him).

HA! @sarah.lina, I was re-watching Sad Temptation too, well, parts of it, I still haven't watched the whole, because they talk too much and unfortunately I don't understand, it's annoying.. ;)) I agree about the shower scene, it's the best of the best, I believe exactly because it isn't explicit like most shower scenes in other dramas, we only see parts of his torso between the curtains and the rest is left to the imagination. :D
I agree that Kim Mi Sook was great as Han Sae's mother, I like this actress, she has a kind of positive aura around her. But it must have been awkward between her and JJM in the beginning of Punch, since they were before that rivals in love (well, sort of) in Sad Temptation. ;))
