"Pretty Man" Lee Jun Gi turns tough in new movie

On 26th, the Seoul Theater in Jongro district of Seoul was crowded with reporters and fans of Lee Jun Gi. Lee Jun Gi, the "pretty man," broke out into main stream stardom this year and created the "Lee Jun Gi syndrome." The press premiere of the movie "Fly Daddy" in which he is starring in was scheduled at 2pm in Seoul Theater on this day.

"Fly Daddy" is based on Kazuki Kaneshiro's novel "Fly, Daddy, Fly." The story is about a friendship between a not so bright father, Chang Ga Pil, who rises up to take up the revenge for her daughter and a cool and strong high school student, Goh Soon Seok. Lee Jun Gi plays the part of Goh Soon Seok and shows a tough performance.

Because Lee Jun Gi played the 'feminine man' in "The King and Clown," he commented about the hardship of becoming a new character. He commented, "I thought about overturning the image of 'The King and Clown.' But I felt the masculinity of the role would give a sense of incongruity to audience." To avoid any life-long regrets, he put all of his energy concentrating on character analysis.

Such effort of Lee Jun Gi is apparent throughout the movie. So much effort and time was poured into scenes such as boxing, rock-climbing and reading philosophical books by Che Guevara.

Above all, the rock-climbing scene was the most difficult. Lee Jun Gi commented, "This scene was one of the most difficult as I am afraid of heights." In addition, he read philosophical books even before the shooting began to become the strong and avid reader, Soon Seok.

Perhaps, the effort of Lee Jun Gi paid off as the press premiere of "Fly Daddy" ended in success.

Lee Moon Shik, who played Chang Ga Pil, praised Lee Jun Gi's passion by saying, "I have the passion to be the best, but not against Lee Jun Gi. I hope to work with him again."

The new side of Lee Jun Gi can be discovered in the movie "Fly Daddy." The movie starts on the 3rd of next month.

YA, JUNKI! show them you're a MAN!!! lol...i think this movie is good for him, to bring back his masuline side of him, so different from king and the clown [which i find sorta distrubing to see him a a woman, but it was touching]

I am here in Seoul and I have seen Fly Daddy four times already and Jun Ki, Lee Moon Shik and the PD appear at designated cinema halls to greet the fans and spectators. Jun Ki is real handsome and gorgeous in person ! The movie is an enjoyable one, easy to understand the storyline (I was told slight changes from the Japanese version from those who had seen both versions), funny scenes and sometimes sad moments, but overall it surpasses some of the Korean movies that I had seen in the past. I just love the scenes when JK fights and his kicks are awesome, only seen from someone who learns TKD, expertly executed it took my breath away. LMS is equally excellent in his role and he makes you laugh at the appropriate moment and makes you feel sad during the poignant and emotional scenes. I love the movie !

Today and tomorrow they will travel outside of Seoul for more stage greetings !

Jun Ki had 12 stage appearances on 3 Aug, first premiering day and the cinema halls were packed with his fans. Those fans who were unlucky in getting a ticket went there in troops just to see him. Yesterday, he had 6 stage greetings and the weather here is extremely hot right now. Pretty tiring for everyone ! But once we see him, we forgot the heat or our fatigue ! We cheered equally loud for LMS too !
