Jaejoong was one of the first celebrities to raise awareness about COVID-19 and he's been continuously donating for this purpose. He donated to help to send masks for Wuhan Coronavirus in late January. 

He also donated to the Korean Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to aid coronavirus prevention in late February.  According to the association, Jaejoong did not want the news to be revealed to the public; however, the charity wanted those in need who receive his kind donation to know of his warm heart as someone who regularly donates to them.
On April 15, it was revealed that Jaejoong is participating, alongside other Japanese public figures, on a welfare project initiated by the Japanese nonprofit organization 'JAPAN HEART' as a team member of the project cooperation, which aims to quickly supply a large number of surgical masks to medical institutions with large-scale financial support, in order to prevent the collapse of the medical field.

Jaejoong's comment: "Each day, my chest aches, watching healthcare professionals at stake facing the risks to save people fighting with COVID-19. Even now that our freedom is limited, there are still things we can do to prevent the healthcare system collapse. I want to support medical professionals through this project. I also pray that the World will be going back to where it used to be. Thank you for your cooperation."
Following this news, many Jaejoong fans from Japan, Korea and around the World, rushed to join this project to help prevent the collapse of the medical field and to support the Artist's good intentions. Some fans posted their contributions on SNS:

From the beginning of the spread, Jaejoong was trying to act, to make a change and he donated to associations from China, Korea and now Japan.
On April 1st, Jaejoong has shared a shocking post on SNS about him getting infected with COVID-19, highlighting that it was due to his carelessness and negligence of the government's safety instructions, he continued "I am apologetic towards those who may have also been infected with the virus because of me. I've become like this because of my stupid decision, to live thinking it will never be me. I am being hospitalized. I am wrapped up with feelings of gratitude and apology while reflecting on my past. There are so many things I want to say... I want to see so many people... "
From this initial post, it was already clear that Jaejoong had a message to make his fans at least, realize the danger of the virus and make them respect the safety instructions before it's too late. When Jaejoong made this post, he was in Japan where citizens were still being careless about the whole situation at that time. 
Jaejoong later apologized for shocking his fans and admitted that his infection was not true. He insisted that he never took this situation as a joke -(all his previous actions in regard of the virus can prove it)- moreover, he had close people to him testing positive to COVID-19 and fans were well-aware before this post that his father is sick and was hospitalized in midst of the spread;
Jaejoong mentioned in his explanation about his father: "My father was in the hospital not too long ago because of lung cancer surgery. When I saw medical staff and patients at the hospital, I got angry, and I hoped the people who thought of the virus as someone else's problem would consider it their own problem as well. So unlike those who are working hard trying to get us out of the coronavirus, I think we need to be alert to the fact that there are many people who are enjoying their leisure time without wearing any protective clothing or masks. I thought there needed to be more awareness when I heard that..."
Nowadays specialists such as the Surgeon General of the United States are voicing: “We want everyone to act as if they have COVID-19! That is what can protect us.”


Korean media and tabloids took this whole incident as an April's fool day joke without trying to clarify the real intentions or purposes behind Jaejoong's shocking post, which resulted in a storm of negative criticisms from netizens towards the artist while ignoring all of his previous contributions and multiple SNS posts aiming to fight against the Coronavirus.

Following this incident, medias started spreading more fake news about the artist, such as him facing punishments (Officials already cleared that Jaejoong is subject of no punishments), and that  his Japanese activities and  Korean variety show "Travel Buddies" are getting cancelled. In fact his Korean show aired on TV and on YouTube as scheduled:

 
His Japanese shows were never canceled; It was JaeJoong's own decision to postpone 3 of his  Japanese shows. Meanwhile, he appeared on Fuji TV's 『TUNE』on April 9 (it was a recorded show from March) and he will appear on Fuji TV's『ONE TWO NEXT』on April 17; this show will air his performances from「Tokyo Girls Music Festival 」Jaejoong has been a headliner at TGMF for two consecutive years as he's been very active in Japan. The show will deliver his live performances of 2018 and 2019 and his special interviews. He is also scheduled to appear on NHK Premium's 『Tamaki Koji Show』on May 3rd, as planned since last month. And he will feature on  Japanese magazine《TVLIFE Premium》 Vol.3, to be released on April, 23rd.

Recently, Kim Jaejoong's DC Gallery and his Korean fandom started to inform media about the real intentions behind the artist's controversial SNS post, they emphasized: “The execution and timing of his writing on April 1st were not correct, but rather than trying to portray his true intentions as a joke, we would like everyone to understand what Kim Jaejoong really wanted to convey through his message and join in together to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19".

In late January, he's contributed to delivering masks. "With this initiative, I want to help our front liners, the medical professionals. I always hope for the world to go back to everything it ought to be. Thank you so much for your cooperation," he added.

On April 1, Jaejoong posted a disturbing statement on Instagram about being diagnosed with COVID-19, explaining that it was because of his inattentiveness and ignorance of the state's security directives
"I'm apologizing to those who might have been diagnosed with the infection because of me. I've been like this because of my dumb decision to remain believing it's never going to be me," Jaejoong wrote.
"I'm being treated. I'm filled with emotions of remorse and regret while dwelling on my mistakes. There's so much I want to express ... I want to see so many people," he added.
After drawing flak on the web, he apologized for alarming his fans and revealed that his illness was not real through a lengthy post. He claimed that he never treated this circumstance as a prank (all his previous behavior on the infection can verify it). However, he had close people examining COVID-19 positively, and his fans were well informed before this article that his father was ill and was admitted in the course of the spread.

(Los Angeles) Angels Otani exhibited his own autographed bat at a charity auction that 16 celebrities participated in the "Yahoo! Auction" through the world NPO "Japan Heart". It was sold successfully for 1,905,000 yen. 

The second highest price was JPY 801,000 for a signed jacket by Korean solo singer #ジェジュン. The funds raised will support healthcare professionals in masks, protective clothing, rubbing alcohol and more.

#TvLife 5/15 Issue #ジェジュン also reveled an unexpected friendship JJ: Talking abt Netflix I watched ‘Naked Director’ bcs it’s a drama starring #山田孝之 Yamada Takayuki. It was really interesting, not from erotic point of view.

 

It was a work of art.

I happened to meet Yamada -san at a restaurant. Since then we got along & often drink together. He’s such a nice person. Recently he contacted me to tell that he’s working for the season 2.
 

#TvLife 5/15 Issue #ジェジュン #RayofLight Asked abt his interest in anime JJ: I belong to the generation of ‘Dragon Ball’, ‘Slam Dunk’, & ‘Sailor Moon’

 

So I don’t know much about recent animes. But I watched all the episodes of ‘鬼滅の刃:Demon Slayer’ which was on a recommendation list of Netflix. So I started to watch then I found it very interesting. Being busy I only watched the first 3 episodes but I was determined to watch it till the end. So I did . As for ‘One Piece’ I watched halfway so I made a record this time!

 

TV LIFE 5/15 Issue #ジェジュン Brava Brava Brava I wanted a dance for ppl in all ages, from kids to elderly, so choreographer & I were thinking till the previous day of MV filming. It took time to come up with a good idea. While sitting down I just stretched my arms & moved.

‘Isn’t this nice? ‘ This is how a Bike Dance was born. Would be a lot of fun if I could dance together with fans at live. As for Metronome Dance just imagining fans to collaborate each other in the same line is also a lot of fun. When I see it from the stage I’m sure to laugh 

 

#TVLife 5/15 Issue #ジェジュン Asked abt the recent state of his privacy JJ: I’m into Japanese history. I’m studying something like why fish culture has developed greatly here. I sometimes watch YouTube videos abt Japanese history made by a Korean living in Japan.

It’s really a fun to learn abt history & cultures of the country I’m interested in. 

#TVLIFE Premium #ジェジュン JJ: Along with the release of Brava3/Ray of Light ad. truck run around the city & PV was shown on the big visions in Shibuya & Dotombori. So I went to Shibuya to see it myself from the car. It was really touching. I was also glad that fans took  pictures of such scenes and posted them on their social media. As I hardly had a chance to meet my fans I felt great love of my fans through SNS.

#TVLIFE Premium #ジェジュン About #Matt JJ: As he says he’s like an alien. He seems to have strong preference abt anything but actually he can get along with everyone, pure like a little boy. On my birthday I was given a hand mirror with his face! When I got it I was like

“What is THIS ?!! “

 

I hear it’s a limited item of a few in the world. I always keep it in my bag to use.

 

#TVLIFE #ジェジュン If we could ask your pet cats abt JJ what would they say? JJ: Ha-ha, I wonder what they would say...

 

I guess they would say bad things a lot. When leaving I remove my cats’ hairs from my clothing using a sticky roller(koro koro), Coco comes to me & leaves her hairs on purpose. Nene, when I close the door to leave, always knocks something over & Coco hides herself to prevent me from going out. They don’t want me to go. I guess they’ll miss me. As I love to tease them they’re maybe saying “Cut it out !“ 

I hear there’s a translation machine for animal languages. I would like to buy one. 

 

#TVLIFE Premium #ジェジュン When he appeared in FNS music program he didn’t have his right hand in a cast. Fans were worried abt his swollen hand. JJ: Not swollen but my hand’s bone seems to become misshapen. I think I’ll have to have an operation someday. It still hurts but I felt free when I removed the cast

 

 

As expected it was quite inconvenient when I used the toilet, washed my hands, & took a shower. Being an absolutely right-handed person I had a trouble eating. But now I can use my left hand for chopsticks. I was surprised when I removed the cast. The injured part of the back of my hand had some hairs. They say hair grows in a weak part of one’s body. So I guess my body tried hard to protect my hand.

 

#TVLIFE Premium #ジェジュン often checks Japanese TV programs. JJ: I watch all kinds including news programs, even the live broadcast of parliamentary proceedings. Then I understand what’s actually discussed whereas news tells only a part of the matter.

I like to watch sumo (wrestling) tournament.Seeing my friend in a TV program I think “Wow he’s a celeb! “ or “He shows off today or shows his true colors.” Talking about true colors my friend said “You acted just the way you are when you appeared in a program of bar hopping.

I cannot show off when I get drunk
