    The question is....what purpose does she want all that divine power for? LOL she'd probably sell her soul to the highest bidder in exchange for divine power at that rate O_O

    Serious question casting all negative press and emotions aside, why did you begin the drama?

    a ) because of the cast
    b ) because you were a novel reader
    c ) because of the production company
    d ) because there was nothing else to watch

    As much as we like to complain here about how butchered the story became, many of us have stuck with it until the end. Is it a sense of morbid curiosity or a far-fetched hope that in the last 10min, the story will become decent? Or is it even simpler and that you just like the pretty guys in LGX, SD and YQ's actor?

    There is a problem when a part of the audience can't connect to a heroine. ZLY did say in an interview that she wasn't asking people to like CQ but to understand her.

    From the previews I could see...it implied he believed she was there of her own free will (unless the Viet translation was totally butchered). 

    MF suggests they help her leave (I think?) but he declines saying something about she needing to leave of her own volition.

    In a weird sense, I get the feeling he knows exactly what CQ is thinking and is simply waiting for her awakening to her situation. He's been her master, her teacher and her protector - he's seen her at her most vulnerable as well as at her strongest. No one, and I mean no one understands her like he does - I don't even think she understands herself (at least in my mind).

    tbh, I haven't been following PA very closely just because I'm waiting for every episode to air before I binge watch, but -

    Who loves her more aside, who is willing to lay down their life and give up everything in order for her to be happy?

    Isn't that what we fans generally hope to see amongst couples? Someone who is willing to do everything in their power (including giving up their life) to ensure the happiness and healthiness of their partner (preferably both people but unrequited is fine)

    I just don't see YX being willing to give up his revenge and actually want to work towards complete removal of slavery, peacefully. Even after seeing all this disaster and bloodshed, he's still hellbent on claiming Chang'an and Yanbei. 

    Note: I haven't read the novel so below are my own personal observations:

    • Yes, CQ is his voice of reason and in the face of such atrocities that happened to his family I can see why he would want revenge. In saying that, how he justifies his actions for the lives of hundreds/thousands of the citizens is beyond me. The armies may have invaded his home, but they were following orders or face treason. Remember, these are the little people who have parents living in 'huts' with wives and children who they may have not seen in years (refer to that scene of the Xiu li commander talking to the soldier)
    • Some say that the fact that YWY doesn't fight for his love shows a weak side of him. I would actually refute that by saying, CQ already holds hostility towards him - much greater towards the beginning of the story than now. If he had pursued his love through brute force, that would turn the hostility to hate. In his own way, YWY has ensured that CQ can feel nothing for him but gratitude and to me, that's a better starting point than a want for revenge for a relationship.
    • YWY, I believe, could and would give up all his titles and prestige if it meant that it would keep CQ safe and it it meant that they would be allowed to be together in peace. I personally don't see YX doing that.
    • To me, YX's 'removal of slavery' is more a facade to convince CQ to join his rebellion than anything else. On the outside, he may actually believe in the cause, but deep down, I don't think it ever really crossed his mind. All his actions to date seem to simply scream revenge. 

    For those of you following the drama closely, has he done anything to work towards eradication of slavery? Or is his mindset, let me take over then I'll work on it?

    Any more OTP scenes u think that could possibly fill in the extra 40mins.? Imma flip some tables if it's more Er Xi & Cao Guang~~ 

    hmmmm depends on if we're talking about deviating from the novel or not...

    HAHAHA on another note, my sister finished the series today and said the ending was too anti-climatic. She was like "WHERE'S THE WEDDING!!! you can't just show such a beautiful dress with no wedding?!?!?!"-----I didn't have the heart to tell her that in the novel, the dress gets ruined *coughcough*

    TLT2...he clashed with production so that was inevitable (or at least that's what I've read)...with TG2...I'm not sure if he was even contracted for season 2...but filming would have clashed with TLT I think - which is why he didn't come back for it? It was a clash with something~ at least he had an actual reason to not come back sideeyesmaingirl

    LOL Gu Man Roulette would be interesting, can you imagine pairing ZLY and YY as HYC and ZMS? or even those two as XN and WW....OMFG ZLY AS WW O_O that would be totally awesome considering she's a pro with fight scenes, especially costume fight scenes!!!! ....but she has such a baby face T_T
