Hi Five! chingu on both of us loving BBC's P&P I loved everything about it and for the longest time that's the only series I would watch every time I wanted to watch anything romance I liked the 2008 movie but was not really satisfied with it......Kiera Knightley's take on Lizzie was a little too tomboyish for my taste and McFayden was good but nowhere near Colin Firth. Are you a Jane Austen fan?

Like wise, lovely talking to you You have travelled quite a lot. You must have a lot of great experiences. I have been to London for a very short visit and it was lovely....it was a totally different experience for me, culturally as well. I hope you get to tour Asia. If you ever get decide to check out Indian films I would recommend "Pather Panchali" or ' Song of the Little Road' by Satyajit Ray and the Bollywood flick 'Taare Zameen Par'. Have a great Sunday

How cool we both love Christie as well. I have read most of her books....love Poirot, Miss Marple both for different reasons though.....I have seen quite a few of itv series eps but not all. If you haven't then you could try They came to Baghdad......its non poirot/marple but just too good. P&P i think is universally loved.......all my friends love it too and we regularly spazz about Darcy.....its also actually taught as a part of english literature.
Thanks for the compliment about India.....it does have diverse beautiful landscapes in terms of touring. Ireland is also a very beautiful place isnt it.....the pics I have seen are all so breathtaking.....it has a great natural land ans seascape. I hope you do visit India someday.....its gonna be a different cultural experience altogether. And the fact that you know about Bollywood is great in itself.....I am unsure how popular it is internationally. Slumdog was a good film though I wouldn't recommend it as an introduction to Indian movies. I will bid you goodnight now cause here almost 3 in d morning. Talk to you again

Ah yes thanks for the caution.....I will watch it once I am ready. As you said its great to be able to talk about shared interests apart for the kdramas I am actually from India, but you are from UK are you? If you asked that because of my love for period stuff then well its true....there was time I loved to read classic novels of all kinds....I love Austen and then I got introduced to Georgette Heyer....ever since I have an undying love for Regency romances....other than that I am an ardent fan of Agatha Christie.

Oh wow yes. I did see Anna and the king....it was so romantic and the end was bittersweet for me but I loved the movie. Gosh its been so long and I had totally forgotten about it....thanks for reminding me. I also saw a previous version of it....The King and I which starred Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr and I fell in love with Yul Brynner.....later I also saw his westerns I didnt see Death at Pemberley.....I didnt really find the trailer interesting. I saw a very quirky take on P&P recently it was called Lizzie Diaries....its a web series. It was an entirely modern take but kinda fun to see it play out.
About Bu Bu Jing Xin....I never had the urge to see it even though when it came out everyone was raving about it.....the length and the tragic ending was the deciding factor for me but then I saw LJG in a mask....looking dark and sinful here in Scarlet heart and I just had to see it tragic end notwithstanding I am thinking of watching the original after Scarlet heart ends.

I love her too.....I always find something new and delightful in her characters each time I reread her books. I like the Bronte sisters as well and Jane Eyre and Agnes Grey are my favs but I have read Wuthering Heights, Shirley and Villette too. Wuthering Heights drained me so much that I was in a blsck mood for a week after that and I promised myself I wont torture me with seeing it live So I have avoided seeing that one but I did see Jane Eyre and again I loved it. Hands down P&P is my fav adaptation but Jane Eyre was so good....I loved Rochester. Jennifer Ehle was my girl crush....she was like the perfect embodiment of what I had imagined Lizzie would be. And Darcy OMG.....he is the Darcy, I havent watched any other adaptation that can take Colin Firth's place.
