Won't be expecting anymore sweet, cute, lovey dovey OTP scenes from ep 18-20 :( I'll put my predictions in the spoiler tab although they're technically not spoilers...so here we go:

      Reveal hidden contents

From what I've seen and based off the Chinese version, Jung will be the one to take her away from the palace, as he mentioned in this episode. MLSHR will follow history, which means Yeonhwa will become queen and Hae Soo will not have an official title as queen nor consort/concubine. Chae Ryung's sins will surface and she will be punished with death (hitting to death as seen in preview). In the Chinese version, this happened too, and Ruoxi never truly forgave him for so brutally killing her friend. Hae Soo's health is likely to worsen, given her depression after Chae Ryung's death and the new Wang So who becomes cruel and cold blooded. We saw that Jung asked the king for a favour in the previous episode, which was most likely a marriage decree with Hae Soo, which will be used when she can no longer stand living in the palace, If they follow the Chinese version, Wang Wook will help Hae Soo for the last time, provoking Wang So to let her leave and marry Jung. Wang So would not have permitted her leave from his side if not for Wang Wook informing him or their past relationship. Hae Soo will then die in Jung's arms, and Wang So will be left feeling regret and grief when he finds out that she waited for him all that time, in order to see him one last time. If all goes well, they will meet again in the future. She will also see other people from Goryeo, such as Lady Hae, as modern day people.

note: my predictions - based on Chinese version and may not be fact.

I don't want that to happen!!! Not in this way at least. I know that, as a king, So has his responsibilities... but to become cruel is such extreme! I also saw many people complaining that if they follow the c-version, they will not be rooting for otp anymore.

The writers have done a wonderful job in painting So in a much better light than the character on which he was based, so I hope they keep it consistent.

I'm so afraid! these last episodes can sail or sank this drama for me. I don't mind a sad ending, as long as the characters remain true to themselves.

WS: I have become a monster in Soo's eyes
WS: I will not let him get away with this

Is it just me but the way So talked here, it seems like he wasn't behind CH's death (or at least he didn't demand her to be killed in such a brutal form idk)?

I mean, he said that he will not let them ( the people who made him become a monster in Soo's eyes) get away with this? (or am I in denial?)

  3. THANK YOU FOR THE RECAP EVERYONE!!!

God, I'm so scared for tomorrow's episode... that preview with CR being "killed" gave me a bad feeling.....

It's like we're all waiting for So to become evil and I hate it so much because it just doesn't fit his character at all, but since the c-version is like that will the writers decided to follow it at the last moment? They made So completely different from the original 4th prince for a reason, right?

Im.. scared :( don't ruin my So please

I guess I asked about the first part already (though in response to @lyserose), as I felt that it may be a bit of a stretch to take this line as asking him to give up the throne for her.  I didn't take it that way (at all!).  And neither did WS, in how he responded.

On the 2nd point, wasn't she actually helping WS out of a really tight spot, of having to arrest Jeong and have him face the law for breaking curfew?  It worked out best for WS too, and she knew it would.  At least, that's how I took it.  What was wrong in that? I thought it was brilliant.  And I think WS probably did too, as he didn't complain later when she explained it away (though it added to his feeling that she might not be trusting him like he does her, and he openly said that to her later).  Again, sorry if I missed any detail that should make me dislike HS on this.

@zi4r  thank you for your post!!!

Since I agree with the points @jayakris made to your 2 first points, I also wanted to add my own opinion about the third point you made:

#3 The undeveloped relationship in the two years of Mu's reign

I really don't think their relationship was undeveloped in the two years of Mu's reign. After the time skip, we were introduced to both of them being much closer to each other than they were before, they were clearly flirting .  Well, I guess the word I could use here is that he was courting her. Of course, HS hasn't yet fully opened her heart to him at that time (she still denying the poor boy kisses), but I though it was a good sigh, she broke up with Wook in such a bad terms being betrayed by someone she loved and trusted and she still had feelings for him the last time they talked, so I guess it was good that she took her time to get close to So and let herself slowly fall for him, so it wouldn't feel like she was just jumping from one to another without second thoughts.

I think HS might have built that for WE and SD. Although WE was probably older than HS I'm pretty sure both of them were younger than Go Ha Jin so she might have seen them as children (not her own). I think since Jung is there maybe we can expect that(?). Although I still don't understand the look on his face. Any ideas?

Also I've read people speculating that HS is praying for her child but out of curiosity is it okay for a woman to get pregnant without marriage in Goryoe? Would everyone accept that?

Probably yes, it would be a problem I guess, but HS case is different... she's the king's woman. So I guess no one would talk or think anything. At this point, the people in the palace probably already know  he can't officially marry her, but they're still in a relationship.

As if SHR hadn't taken over quite enough of my time and thoughts already (HA!), I've started to put together a collection of the filmed scenes we know of that didn't make it in either the SBS or the International version of the drama--scenes that were either deleted completely, or were cut short.

I think, while we're waiting and praying for the confirmation of an All-Inclusive Director's cut, browsing through a preview of some of the deleted scenes we might expect could be quite interesting for more than a few of our fellow MLSHR-addicts here on Soompi, right?

Anyway, the result of my labors became quite a long document, and image-heavy, so I've created a PDF and uploaded it here:

MLSHR: Compilation of deleted or cut scenes

    Pics + Description: https://issuu.com/adnana7/docs/deleted

    Photo Album only: http://issuu.com/adnana7/docs/deleted.pptx

I hope everyone will have no problems accessing and viewing this content.

    Very important! If:

    1) you recognize any of the stills as NOT belonging to deleted scenes after all (i.e. you can place them in either version SBS/Int. of the drama); or

    2) you know (with or without proof stills) of further deleted scenes/dialogues/etc.

please let me know, so that I can update the existing compilation/document.

I'd really appreciate the help of the Soompi community in developing this small side-project, for the benefit of the Soompi community. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this!

Seeing this just make me even sad that this drama wasn't longer.  A better edit could have helped, but still, there are so many things to tell and only 20 hours to do it, I can't even blame the edit team, they must have had a hard time trying to choose which scene is better/relevant to the story tbh. 25/30 episode would be the ideal!!!

But this is one more reason why we NEED the Uncut version of MLSHR.

So, to gather more people to answer the survey translate this to your own language and send it to Drama related facebook pages (plus the survey link). It would definitely be a great help

Actually, I was going to mention that too. We were always up by over 1000 pages, and perhaps the conclusion of the other drama caused some sort of uptick in their activity. That said, that's a huge difference chingudeul. The distinction of most active thread with the most number of replies/responses in 2016 is no longer ours.

I don't know about you, but we've invested so much in the drama, despite ALL of it's flaws and all the setbacks it's experienced. Let's conclude our time here by setting a record of our own. Here are the ALL-TIME Soompi standings as far as total number of replies/responses:

    1. Faith - 90,78

    2. Nice Guy - 46,976

    3. You're the Best Lee Soon Shin - 44,714

    4. Goon/Princess Hours - 39,986

    5. Heirs - 35,316

    6. The Gu Family Book - 35,081

    7. Master's Sun - 33,198

    8. Empress Ki - 28,824

We're currently at 28,621 and Moonlight is at 30,399. Before episode 16 last week, we were ahead by over 1000. We will clearly beat Empress Ki. We were previously generating about 1000 reply posts on a weekly basis. Can we capture our prior enthusiasm and perhaps take the 6th place or higher? I BELIEVE WE CAN. What do you think? Are you in? :phew:

Sigh me in!!! The are still four episode to go and  there will be a lot of discussion after it ends as well. So I guess we have chances!

As of Sept 21, these were the rankings on Youku:

    1) Uncontrollably Fond - 3.4 billion

    2) Pinocchio - 1.5 billion

    3) Heirs - 1.4 billion

    4) Moon Lovers - 1.0 billion

We're currently in 2nd place behind Uncontrollably Fond, but I don't have the numbers yet to give you. Will share later once I can find it.

Ohhhh Thank you so much!!! :D

So we only need to beat UF, uh? Do you think it is possible? 3,4 billion seems so far away

The first spot is Baekhyun?

Yes! It's going to be impossible to beat him as number one thanks to his popularity as an EXO member.

And while I believe he did a great job as Wang Eun in SRH, it's a bit unfair to put him in the actor's category.. ( Not even IU was listed there and she has more works as an actress that him)

We're closing in on 2 billion views on Youku!

Wow, for me that is impressive! :o   But I wonder how much is the views from other dramas on Youku, are they close to it? Does someone know?

The only thing I know is that MLFAS viewership was around 14 billion views (but it was on another site, not this one if I'm not mistaken).

Oh I totally get it!  Consider me "old school" but LJG has always done well in what he does despite some of his works being flops and I love that he makes an effort to be on screen once a year so that his fans can see him.  I'm in my 30's too so I don't see how he's past his prime as he's aged so well and has gotten only better both acting and looks.  I also get upset when people say the same thing about my favorite music group (Beast).  Just because these new guys come out doesn't make them stale ... It's also always bothered me how seemingly unpopular they are compared to their newer counterparts.  LJG has a little over a million followers and has been in the business over a decade now but you see these newbie boy bands that debut a year ago with 2-3 million followers and I don't get it.  Where is the loyalty in the kpop fandom?!  They just keep hopping from one entertainer to the next.  That's not to say I don't like Park Bo Gum and the popularity of Reply 1988 members but my heart still belongs to LJG/Beast as my first loves in acting/music.

I couldn`t agree more! Popularity in entertainment is such a brief thing today, one moment you`re on the top and then a new thing appears and you`re done. Tbh, this actually just prove how good LJG is, he`s been 10 years on the market and is still popular and relevant to the entertainment business,  Isn`t easy to keep a consistent career when new actors keep popping up every day, but he did.

Which makes this "he passed his prime" even funnier is that thanks to his performance in SRH, he's everywhere. He was topping the searches in China (was it china?), got more than 600.000 followers on IG as fast as a bullet, he's on top 10 on that popularity poll, top 5 in another two tops ( Good data and  drama actor Brand Reputation for October)... he's definitely not doing badly as a veteran actor.

  12. The two versions don't bother me at all.  Tbh, I actually like that we get to see new scenes in the SBS version. Ofc, It would be better to have just one well-edited version, but is just that I don't see it as a big problem really... it's just some few scenes cut/added after all.  However, I REALLY want an uncut version of this drama because it's clear that they filmed a lot more that what is being shown in the drama.

On a side note: I understand why everyone is mad at SBS, I am, too (  just one episode this week isn't enough!!!), but please remember... It isn't just about choose which one to air, the baseball game NEEDS to be aired live and they do have a duty to show it ( you need to buy the rights to show a game on TV), the drama can wait because it is filmed production after all...

Not trying to defend SBS or anything... but I do understand their line of thinking in this one.

Ah the SBS ep was worth the wait. I can die happily now. ...not! We need an all-inclusive, complete edition with all the scenes they've filmed!!!

Same here! Now I want the complete edition even more! :D How things are going about this?

    Thanks for the recaps everyone!

But now it seems like what I was fearing about So change in a spite of 3 episodes will happen :(, but better waiting for the episode because till now every time we thought So was gonna do something "bad" , turned out the previews were just misleading and it was the situation who called for it. So I'll try not to judge him before know what is happening.

Still, I can't help but get extremely worried over him. I already accepted OTP will not have a happy ending, but to also see So's character become extremely bad is something I definitely won't be happy about...

  14. I'm in the same boat as everyone about Jung's character. In the beginning, I could excuse his actions because he was naive and young, but now he's plain annoying ( what was all that deal about being mean with MH and calling So a murderer?), but... don't you think this is exactly what the writers intended to? There's no way they made him do all these things and thought "Ha! Everyone will love him for sure!!!" I think Jung is supposed to be disliked... maybe to make the time HS needs to leave the castle even more painful because she'll not be leaving with a character we love, but with one we hate.

Also, now I'm back to my "please don't ruin Wang So's characterization" praying circle, which consist of only me lol (I'm seriously concerned over this)
