  1. @timi163 - I wish there was a button for "applause" for all your recent posts.  Very mature.  You made me proud :).  I am only speaking for myself and everyone is entitled to their opinion but I have personally really enjoyed all the romantic pairings for JIS whether in his movies or TV dramas and for me it's primarily because he IS a good actor and he makes these roles/relationships very believable and real. I like all the actresses that he has starred with and I try not to compare them to each other because they are all very unique and individual.
As to his private life - I will say this again (I have said this before a while back on this thread so please accept my apologies for repeating myself lol) but I really love this about him - that he IS so intensely private about his love life.  As far as I am concerned it gives him that aura of "mystery" which is very appealing.  I have always liked him for his acting but him being so private is like an additional "bonus" for me.  As much as I enjoy reading things about our Insungie  - I am more than happy to respect his privacy.   As his fan all that I demand of him is that he continue to choose (many!) wonderful projects to warm our hearts and to continue to challenge himself as an actor (which he already does!).  And heck, as far as I'm concerned we are also allowed to "drool" and have "heart-stopping" moments when watching him lol :).
As a fellow human being - I  just sincerely hope he will be happy (whether on his own or with someone) and I hope he has some good genuine friends (which I believe he does) to support him during difficult times.

  2. @jadecloud thank you for your posts regarding the DVD - I am going to email them immediately and I hope I will be able to buy it from Australia.
@meryxsi - oh wow... seeing all those pics of Oh Soo made me sigh.  Would you believe I was re-watching bits of TWTWB only last week!

@blim0523 your posts always cheer me up :).  Having finished watching the show I can now freely roam the internet and all sites and seek out all interviews from the show woo hoo.... lol
@everythingnothing - I am holding you to your word that once the show has finished you will post your thoughts on it :).
Speaking for myself I am VERY proud of our Insung for his performance in IOTL.  He didn't disappoint and exceeded my expectations.  I will truly and honestly miss this show and seeing him twice per week....that was such a treat <sigh>... I feel so nostalgic at the moment that it has ended :(
By the way - talking of movies - would you believe that they are hosting a Korean Film Festival in Australia from August 13-Sep 26.  I was so excited to find out about this, I don't know if this is the first time they are doing this or they do it regularly.  They have a selection of movies they consider the best of Korean movie industry from the past 2 years (I think).  I would have loved to see JIS in a cinema here but he's not in any of the movies that will be screening as part of the Festival <darn!>...BUT if JIS hurries up and does a movie this year - there is hope for me to see him on the big screen next year :).  Otherwise I am deliberating what movie I should see as I am not familiar with any other Korean actors etc.  Maybe I should contemplate seeing a movie with one of JIS's "heroes" (provided they will screen that movie in my home town :).
Because I am too lazy to look for this information myself - can I please ask you very nicely to tell me who JIS's favourite Korean actors are? :).

But who could blame Noh for putting our Insungie through this - because no one does "suffering" as well as him.  And from what I have learned about him as an actor I am certain he would have enjoyed this challenge immensely.  I am thrilled (based on the article above) that he has been recognised for his acting efforts.

  5. @everythingnothing I am sooooo happy you didn't abandon us and you're back AND very soon we will hear from you what you thought about the show etc.  I have been popping in and out between episodes so as to avoid previews and spoilers.  I love feasting my eyes on new scenes and love not knowing what is coming script wise (although at the same time it is a bit scary!).
@blim0523 bless you and thank you so much for posting that bit about JIS and GHJ favourite scenes!!  JIS's choices of favourite scenes always intrigue me and I understand how he would pick challenging scenes as his most memorable ones as he is always hanging out for a challenge and tries to improve his acting and bring something new to his role.  BUT I really love GHJ for picking that Okinawa beach scene as her memorable one.  Good on her!  She is right that THAT scene came out beautifully and fans will remember it (well, I should only speak for myself... and I definitely enjoyed it.  Interestingly enough I had a look at the original IOTL trailer and the trailer contains 2 little moments from that beach scenes that didn't make it to the final cut.  Shame, because those little moments would have tied in to the mood of that particular scene).  @blim0523 were there any particular scenes that you enjoyed? Oh yes, the little compilation you did with JY, HS & Oh Young had me in stitches, good job :).
I am soooo sorry IOTL is about to end and that I won't be seeing JIS every week like we are now.... it has been such a treat....
Hi @cassie6002 - so happy you've enjoyed IOTL as well and yes there are many things that JIS does while acting that make us all "swoon" lol

  6. welcome @pinkhart and @pureheartz to the thread :)  ALWAYS love to see new faces :).
AND to my old trusted buddies here please forgive me for staying away, I hope you are still talking to me :).  I couldn't watch IOTL last week until Friday so in keeping with my old habit I stayed away until I was up to date.    I just did a marathon watch of IOTL episodes 7-10 and OMG, OMG, OMG!  What a JIS-fest!!
Please excuse me for posting here and not IOTL thread - but a lot of things in this post are JIS-drool worthy :)
So many things have happened in those episodes and I am not about to dissect everything (it has all been talked about already, I missed the boat!) but if nobody minds I would like to mention few things.  I thought of @timi163 when she said (don't remember on which thread?) that she finds the show "relaxing to watch" - it is so true in so many ways and there are some elements that are quickly resolved.  For example, when Episode 7 started and it shows JY being dragged away, out of sight, by JB and HS leaves the bus stop thinking he rejected her.  I remember thinking to myself "oh bummer, here we go again, like every other typical drama, they will drag this issue out forever - she will think he abandoned her and he will never tell her what happened, typical and frustrating".  I was delighted that I was proved wrong - they resolved this issue in the first 10-15 minutes of the episode - she called him and he told her the truth and they moved on from there!!  It was SOOOO refreshing!  And also in this episode I got to see 2 of my favourite things in the world combined JIS AND Ice Cream lol :)
I enjoy the frank and honest discussions about relationships and sex in the show - even if at times it feels like we're getting a whiplash by the change of emotions all the time BUT I think that's very realistically portrayed as well.  Anyone who has been in a relationship knows that it's never just all happiness all the time and it's never just gloom, it's a bit of both.  Life is like a roller-coaster.  The supporting cast is fantastic, but I especially love the characters of DM and YJ.
Of course the only thing NOT relaxing to watch is JY's mental decline, I am really, REALLY frightened how Writer Noh plans to resolve it all and leave JY with some dignity (although often dignity is the first thing to go).  However, I am also certain that JIS will very much enjoy this challenge.
I found the beach scenes in episodes 8/9 beautifully filmed and moving and I did go weak at the knees (am I allowed to say that? lol). I also found the scene on the "morning after" very tender and perfectly executed by both JIS and GHJ.  I liked their honest dialogue and the way HS's voice was breaking when she spoke.  JIS was outstanding as usual.  A definite "lump in the throat" moment for me.  The songs by Davichi and by Wheesung "For You" superbly fitted the scenes.
I am just enjoying the show without dissecting it too much because otherwise I will go crazy lol... Of course there are some minor flaws but which show doesn't have them?
@blim0523 you posted the pics of JIS from Episode 10 - may I just say that as much as I love him looking all clean-shaven there was something so very appealing, manly and masculine about him with that stubble!  There is a "delicious" JIS moment in EP10 when he's got the stubble and he's lying on his bed with a little smile and giving "thumbs up" when HS suggests she will turn off the light <sigh>.   @everythingnothing I thought of you because I know that you also like JIS looking all masculine and "primal" :).
AND Before anybody corrects me and tells me that I'm not supposed to like "JY" looking like that because it's meant to represent JY''s spiralling mental decline - I am aware of that BUT I still can't help myself admiring that this man looks good even when disheveled and with a stubble  :)
Finally, thanks for the posts @willennette and @blim0523 as to the "Ice bucket challenge" - I am SOO Proud of JIS for doing it!  It is a HUGE thing in Australia at the moment too and everybody is doing it to raise funds.  Good on him!

  7. @everythingnothing I am dying to know what YOUR thoughts are on JIS's performance in IOTL so far? :).  You are always very insightful.

@luluwannagohome what a GREAT article about our JIS, thank you so much for that, it pleases me to no end that he received such positive feedback from his peers!  I'm proud of him for working hard.
@blim0523 - I laughed so hard at so many of your comments, you are so cute  (I just read all the posts I missed!) - and yes, I had a similar thought when JY rescued that poor woman from the river.  AND I did think JIS looked very cute holding a baby, I know he was only acting but I think most of us went "awwww" lol :)
I am also in love with Uncle Jo - what a good hearted character :).
Now - every drama or a TV series has a "defining moment" (and for each viewer it will be a different scene etc) - and even though so far we have definitely been given lots of cute and memorable scenes - I have just discovered MY favourite "moment" so far in IOTL - the scene in Episode 6 - where HS is tending to JY's wounds in the bathroom (above on this page there is a beautiful pic capture by @Meryxsi).  Until the series progresses this is my heart-stopping moment - such a simple gesture of HS touching his face and JY holding her hand and both of them looking into each other's eyes with a degree of sadness, no dialogue, no music and yet so powerful.  Such a poignant scene.  AND I must say it was the first time I felt a stronger than before connection between the two characters.  Just as actors often say they felt "totally in character" I felt totally in "the moment" while watching that scene.  <sigh> so beautiful :)

  8. @sunshine4ever thank you SO SO MUCH for your wonderful post sharing your history and the history of this thread.  It is priceless.  You have covered a lot of things I have often wondered about.  I have nothing but admiration for people like you who have invested so much of their time and lives into this thread.  It is wonderful to see not only your name but the name of @willenette and many others appear on this thread throughout many years.  Thank you also for the wonderful video of Oh Soo compilation (do you know what the background instrumental music is? I'm crazy about it!!!) and for sharing the WHIB video with us as well.  I know how special WHIB and TWTWB will always be to many JIS fans. I took great pleasure in watching all the video compilations.
@blim0523 and @willenettte, as usual you guys are my heroes for always being here and for all your wonderful posts. Having a peek at this thread always feels like "coming home" :).  I've also quietly enjoyed seeing some activity from some new faces and from our lovely regulars :), I find it so comforting :).
Mind you, I have not allowed myself to visit this thread or the IOTL thread (it was SOOO HARD lol) until I've seen Episode 3 and 4 of IOTL (which I have completed last night) because I was adamant I did not want to see any spoilers or previews and I wanted to see the episodes with a fresh mind.  It was fantastic. We were given so many JIS "treats" like little jig dancing and winking and even new facial expressions.  AND I really like the camera shot of JIS in Episode 3, sitting in his big yellow armchair and wearing Harry Potter glasses while typing his new novel.  Very classy.
The role of JY is definitely unlike any other role that JIS has played before.  I totally understand now why he agreed to do IOTL.  The show is fresh and modern and aims to break a lot of taboos.  I am surprised though that they have incorporated so many English words into the script (or is this normal?).
And after seeing the very end of Episode 4 (incidentally, I already suspected this about KW's "existence") and despite this show being a rom-com, I think writer Noh is planning some "heavy duty" emotional acting for JIS as JY's condition unravels with time.  I am already getting a box of tissues ready (just in case lol) and waiting with abated breath for the next episodes.

  9. @Meryxsi - thank you so much for that MV Vid.  It's terrific.  I actually really like that song "Best Luck" by Chen and have been listening to it a lot.  I have to say that Korean dramas seem to have fantastic OST - TWTWB and IOTL are so different and yet the choice of music is perfectly suited to each show.
@willennette - I especially like Number 5 in the list of "5 Reasons IOTL is one of the best dramas currently airing" - I love that both JY and HS are professionals, they are both feisty and stubborn (but both seem to have a good heart) and I really loved the scene at the end of Episode 2 where JY throws a glass of wine back in HS's face :).  That scene was very satisfying and funny :).  I like that they are portraying them as "equals".  I am looking forward to many more interesting moments like that between them.

  10. @timi163 - THANK YOU for explaining about the translation error in the original article about the kissing scenes and JIS's nose :).  Your explanation finally makes sense of GHJ's comments!
And @willenette dear I never said that JIS has a big nose, I said he "DOESN'T" have a big nose lol :).  The only reason I did my post in the first place was after reading the article with the heading "Kissing big-nose people is difficult - says Gong Hyo Jin" and that she also said "his nose is so big....." so I immediately thought "no way"!  Now, that @timi163 explained the difference in translation it makes sense that poor GHJ only said "he has a high bridge/nose" which sounds SO much better and less mean lol :).   I always thought he has an excellent and unique nose and that's why I couldn't help myself and had to comment on it lol, I'm glad to see everyone agrees :)  And I have to say that even if from time to time something is strangely or incorrectly translated - I am still VERY grateful to all the wonderful girls and boys who do the English translations for us :) We would be lost without you :).

  11. WOW!  How absolutely cool to see everyone visiting the thread for our Jo In Sung's birthday!!!  Everyone has done such beautiful posts!!  And I especially love what you've done @Meryxsi and @Blim0523 and @sunshine4ever!  IF JIS were to see it - he would feel extra chuffed :).

I will be the Australian contingent lol and will say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to In Sung from Down Under :)  Wishing you all the happiness, health, love and success!!

  12. @marikolah said:  "I think i'm going to have to join you guys more often here. I'm pretty sure I have become captivated by this beautiful man."
Yes please @Marikolah - with comments like these we will always welcome you with open arms :).  And thanks for that lovely pic - I can't take my eyes off it :) .. (I know that's very shallow of me lol).
@willennette - well said about JIS's nose and fangirls lol... you made me laugh girl :).  Personally, I never thought he has a big nose - it's proportional to his face and besides I think he has a very uniquely shaped nose which I believe gives him the added advantage of having a very distinctly different right and left profile (which I have seen utilised by different Directors in close ups & photoshoots etc).  I wouldn't usually comment about JIS's features like that but GHJ started it lol...

  13. Thanks @willenette for the posts and the review.  Hmmm, okay, so IOTL didn't get a great review BUT honestly there are so many movies and TV shows that are very precious to me (which were criticised) that I'm just going to ignore that review and wait until I see the show myself and then I will make up my own mind.  Plus I can already anticipate that regardless of how writer Noh will handle some of the mental health problems in the show - she will also be criticised for it (and the actors will also cop it for how they portray people with these problems).  For some viewers nothing will ever be good enough.
As far as I am concerned if IOTL can make me laugh or make me forget about my day to day problems I will consider it a success :)
It's early days yet.... fingers crossed.

  14. @everythingnothing - thank you SO much for going to all this trouble for me with how to say JIS's name!!  I am very touched by your efforts as I almost gave up that anybody will steer me in the right direction lol.  I shall listen to that pronunciation until it's second nature :).
@blim0523 said: - "I don't know if I'm weird but I don't only find JIS handsome but beautiful as well. OMG those eyes"
@blim0523, you are definitely NOT weird OR alone in thinking that.  Of course we love JIS most for his acting abilities and how he makes us enjoy the characters he portrays but I don't think there's any shame or crime in us enjoying the fact that he is indeed "beautiful" :).  I think it would only be a problem if we didn't see past his looks.  Afterall, he has worked so hard to be taken seriously as an actor.
You are very spot on @willenette in observing that we would never refer to a woman as "handsome".... interesting isn't it.
@Insungbaby - thank you for these amazing gifs from IOTL - especially for those of us who venture very little outside of this thread  :)

  15. @Jocelyn Chow sweetie - if you go to the IOTL thread there are pictures and comments from the conference which took place on 15 July :).  It looks very exciting and you will enjoy seeing all the photos and previews :)
On a different topic - @everythingnothing - I really shouldn't be allowed to post things when I am VERY tired and I'm just about to go to sleep lol because I am so embarrassed now by my "gushing" post about JIS looking great in black... Honestly, I cringed when I read it again now lol.  I sounded like a 14 year old teenage girl, eeekkk.  Or maybe I was just excited to see him wearing all black because I have already been thinking about him in his future "Ice Blade" role - I can see him already in it  - dressed in black, dark, mysterious and brooding....  But I am really getting way ahead of myself lol... let's enjoy his role in IOTL for now, the more I read about it the more I can barely contain my excitement :).

  16. OMG!!!  @LoVe Cartier! Yes, yes, yes!  Just before going to sleep (it's 1.30am here!) I thought I have a quick peek at my favourite thread as I've been away too long and you made me hyperventilate with your post of JIS in black!!!  (How on earth will I fall asleep now lol)...  I agree 100% I LOVE him in black and that first pic is amazing.... <sigh>...  He's been dressing down lately and dressing very masculine (I totally love it!)
I will post more tomorrow as I'm ridden with guilt for not visiting here for few days and there are so many new goodies here and I miss you all girls (and boys ) :)
Good night...if I'm late for work in the morning because I couldn't fall asleep I will blame it all on you @LoVe Cartier :)

  17. @blim0523 THANK YOU and Bless YOU my girl for providing this link:- "for the others who haven't read the english trans of the dialogue of teaser 2 here is the link, happy reading  www.adorkaholic.tumblr.com/post/91271506018/its-okay-its-love-trailer"
OMG - I believe I suffered a minor heart attack once I read the dialogue lol.....   I didn't think it was possible to become even MORE intrigued about the characters but I surely am lol...
We all know what a good and believable  actor JIS is but (and it's just an observation at this stage as I have never seen GHJ in any movies etc.), but I think you're right that she's also a good actress just by observing her body language in the posters from IOTL.  She seems to wholeheartedly give herself into Jae-yeol's embrace and it comes across very cute and believable.  I wonder how I will feel once I start watching the show :).
BTW - because I only came on board this year with JIS - I am getting a headache from having to adjust so quickly to all of JIS's female co-stars lol... First it was Hong Lim & Queen, then it was Oh Soo & Oh Young, then I watched some things with So-Jung & Jae-Min and now it will be Hae-Soo & Jae-Yeol... gosh, there's only so much I can handle in 6 months lol...
@timi163 - I almost burst into tears like a 5 year old kid when I tried to play the video you uploaded (screen shot looks so tempting lol) but when I try to play it - all I get is "The Uploader has not made this video available in your country".... THAT DOES IT arghhhh - I'm moving countries!
@kate8 - Oh my gosh, where are MY manners?!  I hope you are still around so that I can say thank you for sharing your thoughts and views on JIS's movies few weeks back :).

  18. Thanks @blim0523 and @everythingnothing.  Of course I was looking forward to IOTL before but now you have all made me feel even better about the collaboration of Noh and Kim.  I didn't know that apart from TWTWB they also collaborated on other projects together.  This can only mean that they work together really well and that can only mean good news for us viewers.  And yes it's very true that JIS seems to have good instincts when he picks his roles now.  I guess we will find out soon enough how it all turns out :).
I feel really lucky that I posted a question (about writer Noh and Director Kim), then went to sleep and work and when I got back from work - voila, all these answers were waiting for me plus a bonus - some very cool new posters from IOTL woo hoo!  :).

Yep, the new posters from the series are amazing!  Thanks girls.  They really are teasing us, very cruel lol...  I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas - 13 "sleeps" for IOTL to start  :).  I think that if @Blim0523 and I cannot access IOTL on any of the streaming channels - we will jointly cry!
And it was lovely of you @blim0523 to do the early birthday poster for JIS.  From what I understand he is always grateful for his fans and if he saw it (you never know, maybe he has :) he would love it.
@willennette - please keep the info on Korean culture coming - I'm always glued to my computer when reading it - AND please send those doting Korean guys over here - because there are a lot of men here who should learn from them about manners lol.

  19. Wow... so many new fantastic posts here about JIS and IOTL... thank you all :).  I'm glad GHJ finally made it to Japan after all the accident trauma although I think it will take a while for her to recouperate properly.
Thanks @willennette for the extra info on "blood types" and about PDAs in Korea.  It was so interesting to read about it.  How do I say this delicately without insulting my own culture lol...? but I actually REALLY like that Koreans are so conservative and not over the top [although I agree with you @blim0523 that referring to dating as "scandal" is a bit much!].
Ahh... @blim0523 as to the same "feeding scene" in both TWTWB and IOTL... yes, I confess I am a tiny bit scared about the same Writer/Director combination making a TV series together again (although admittedly it is in a different genre).  I wonder how they will write for and direct JIS again only having completed a project with him a year ago.   I hope they are not sticking to the same "formula".  For those more familiar with writer Noh I am sure you will consider my apprehensions totally unfounded lol  [please feel free to allay my fears] :).  For example Yoo Ha wrote and directed JIS in both Dirty Carnival and Frozen Flower and JIS's performance in these two movies could not be more varied (and not just due to the different type of characters he played).
And on a personal note (sorry for over-sharing!) but I am not a big fan of "feeding" scenes in general lol (although it was kind of cute when Oh Soo was feeding Oh Young chocolates).   Someone preparing a meal for another person, that's another story altogether, yes please lol,  For example, I liked the scene in Dirty Carnival when Byung-doo was cooking for Hyun-joo when she was ill.  Even though it wasn't meant as a romantic scene I found it very touching.
