I am still upset over the open ending. I agree they should give us 2 special epi ... no 3.. 2 to tie up all the loose ends and 1 ep time for their advertising revenue, isnt this the reason they are dragging it. If I have that 2 special epi, I give my full attention to their 1 ep time of advertisements.
It was fun time for me here and reading all the comments, ranting, cursing and analysis of the drama and the characters compensate for the crap that we get for the last few ep. Really like it that some of of you give your version of the happy ending
. Thank you all and hope to find you guys in another interesting thread. I really admired some of you who can write so well and such deep analysis of the characters and it would be nice that someone can write a fiction of our OTP, maybe our own version of the ending of PA or maybe a modern adaptation of PA -

Advisor Alliance is a historical drama. It is about advisor Si Ma Yi during the reign of Cao Cao. Good drama.
I have watched Love me if you dare, its so so to me. I am in the middle of Memory Lost and if you like romance you can try 情定三生 dont know the english title though!

This is really good, so much romance and Mark Chao is so amazing. He happen to be the best friend of LGX and both characters are so cool, put this 2 guys together as YH (Yue Hua in Three Lives...) and YWY ... the 2 most cool and romantic guys ever in Cdrama land
NIF and Advisor Alliance is also great - no romance but it helps you to think and learnt alot of Chinese phrases and idioms from ancient time. 2 great strategist at work!

3. So, where will she go? Once CQ leaves she will have no where to go. She'll end up being the most wanted criminal of Wei and Yanbei. If she "betrays" Yanbei, how is she going to protect Yanbei and its citizens? Wei and Yanbei all will want to kill her and by then YX can't protect her from his underlings even if he wants to.
In such difficult position, I think they should just jump into the lake together pretend they both die, they belong neither to Wei or Yanbei, adopt all the orphans from the wars, create a new country, live happily together without always thinking of others and do all the lovey dovey (bedroom sparring!) things couple do, . This is what i call a happy ending!
I suppose XE already knows where her heart lies when she told ZY that her belief is on the top of Yanbei mountain, I want to believe that there is where she had the conversation with YWY and he is the one that share her belief. She wanted to save the whole world and now she recognise that she can't but maybe she feels that at least she can save only 1 person i.e. YX, therefore she did not want to leave. From the preview, after this Wu told her about her past, he told her to decide which way she wants to go because she is caught between YWY and YX. It would take the lake incident to make up her mind where she wants to go.
Everyone is looking forward to the Lake scene, not to be the wet blanket, if this does not materialised, wonder what is going to happen to all the people here. this is a prerecorded drama, so if they have filmed its going to be there and they cannot do any other changes to it, unless Hunan TV decided to put their scissors to work... just curious what you guys will do or think when this happen! You can shoot me for raising this up....

Its good to see them together but the atmosphere is a little awkward. They do not have much eye contact and I suppose XE feels very ashamed and do not have that kind of self-confidence anymore in front of YWY as she realised now that what YWY has been warning her all this time is coming true. YWY maybe still hurt from the last time that XE never try to understand his feelings and probably frustrated that XE although not happy in YX camp yet she still doesn't want to leave. I wonder what is stopping XE from leaving, obviously all the general want to get rid of her and YX is in a dilemma, although he may know the truth about what is happening, YX will not antagonise his general therefore he prefer to do nothing at all. What hope there is in Hong Chun, what is there to protect ... I see nothing yet XE is still hesitating ...."stupid" girl!

I feel everyone is all stressed and irritated with how the story is heading. Alot of unanswered questions, a lot of unnecessary scene and because the ending in 1 week time, we wonder if the missing plot will be filled or are they going to move it to PA2. Probably because of the plagiarized issues, they cut alot of scenes. The most frustrating issue for me is there are only 32 min to 39min each epi with 6min at the beginning wasted replaying scene from last epi, minus the unnecessary plot, you end up with only about less than 20min of meaningful storyline. I hope it is not going to be disappointing for the remaining epi.
@40somethingahjumma I agree with you. What is so difficult in putting Chu'er away, What is his brother YS doing and why didn't they get the 7th prince to put a stop to her stupidity, if YS cannot handle her, of course I always find WSY useless so I don't expect him to do anything This is war and one wonder how is it possible that no general questioned if a stupid bit** are able to lead a battalion ...
CQ by not telling the xiuli army the truth about YX abandoning them is probably to keep the moral up. She herself have already given up on YX since she said to ZY if she dies it would be in the hands of YX and no one else. I wonder why CQ always claim that it is her Yan Bei since there was no indication that she or her mom is from Yan Bei

Yesterday epi with YWY/XE was so sad, the moment YWY told her he needed her too and given the non-response from XE, he walked away helplessly and so disheartened. Its even more heartbreaking to see YWY expression and it almost make me cry when they played the background theme song as he was walking away... although it was YX theme song, but to me it was very appropriate at that moment and feel his pain. it makes me want to go up and give him a good hug! Poor fellow!
XE already have doubts and it was so obvious when XC asked her about if she believes in YX and she hesitated. She is obligated to go to YX to stop him from turning vicious (she raise the wolf herself as YWY warned her before!) which he already is by abandoning his own people and sacrifice them to the Wei army. Its better for her to go, have a closure with YX and return to YWY without this YX burden on her shoulder and have a happy future with iceman. In one way, she is being considerate to YWY, even if she wants to stay, she cannot be worrying about another man, isn't it! XE probably want to redeem herself too because she feels she has encourage YX to become what he is now!

@tashalynn You can watch God of War on Viki. I personally don't recommend it... it's not very good but if you have nothing better to do and you want to see LGX surrounded by his own harem, it might be your thing.

But I just wanted to say that seeing LGX/YWY with a bundled up child on his back reminds me of his Zhao Zilong in God of War in one of the handful of decent things about that drama, in which he rescues Liu Bei's infant son Ah Dou in the Battle of Changban.
I must agree with @aptfangirl I have learnt so many new words from our dear @40somethingahjumma and really like her insights and by just commenting on a drama, there are really some good advice there (hehe, 不是在拍马屁哦！）,
Even I am in China and in this environment for so many years, I also learnt a lot of new words/slangs from Cdrama , of which I only started not so long ago with In the Name of the People. I was never into Cdrama all these years until recently and they do put alot into production of dramas, you hardly find any drama that is 20 ep. For historical drama, the no of horses and extras they put in is unbelieveable more like a movie than a drama.
Well understand from local friends, better not hate Hunan TV because this company is rich and they make a lot of actors and actress popular overnight with their production and their exclusive broadcast of certain dramas, so you just have to tolerate them for their tactics of dragging the time to generate more advertising income.
Well, looking forward to seeing more of YWY/XE tonight.

I find it so funny and enjoyable to read the comments today. YWY confession and also about his teeth and "beer belly".
It is so touching that he would said that he would not be able to accept it if anything happen to XE and he can't help or protect her ... this is the another meaning I get from the confession ... it is so romantic and I knock some sense into XE if she is still oblivious about his feeling ... good gracious XE .. give the man a break already ......
I find it so funny when a good looking guy with great acting catches the eyes of all the female viewers ... they start to scritinize him and can even spot a speck of dandruff 10 miles away (maybe not a good eg but you get my drift!)
.. why suddenly his teeth ... as long as he did not get Jack Sparrow's set of teeth, I am not bothered ..! As for his beer belly, think if is the costume and the belt which give the impression he has a tummy. He is actually quite thin for his height .. does not bother me also .. it was a fun observation from some and I couldn't help feeling comical about it!
All this reading really helps my Monday blues!

On YY and CQ, I do not think there is romantic feeling on the part of CQ(XE), camaraderie definitely! After 48ep, I be danged if someone dare to say this 2 do not have feelings for each other. Although XE did not want to admit it because she was angry, hurt and upset and felt betrayed by what crippled grandfather said ... also she was so blinded by what happened to YX family she refuse to see the trouble that YWY was going thru to save his best friend and wanted to let her see the situation objectively but with such atrocity towards YX and Yan Bei, I cannot blame her. If she is indifferent, she would not be angry about the whole situation. YWY although did not say it openly, all his actions shows that XE is his most beloved... all the emotions can be seen on his face ... I love LGX for being such a good actor on his part as YWY.

I feel the same too, LGX acting is truly amazing. YWY is a man of few words and LGX can portrayed it so well with his every body language and his expressive eyes. He is so natural that I sometime forgot I am watching a drama. He has a lot of fan now in China and honestly I never notice him before this and couldn't place him as the man who advertise for a Men's wear when I saw the advertisement a few months back. I have never commented so much or so into Cdrama until now (also thanks to Hu Ge!). Thanks or no thanks that KDrama land is a bit disappointing at the moment.
As for ZLY, her portrayal of Shan Shan (the Boss and I) always gives me the impression that she is a very fragile and delicate girl and will not look good in a tough role of a female general but in PA, she totally change my opinion of her. Her acting is really good and the chemistry she has with LGX ...I am speechless!
The ending is coming soon and a lot of comments from friends who read the book there are still a lot of revelations needed, I hope a lot of the scene will not be moved to PA2. ZLY will not be in it and LGX has already showed disinterest to participate without ZLY, I am already feeling down without ZLY and LGX, I am not really keen either. No offence to anyone, but if they are going to put some other persons in these roles, they better not have a sequel ..
my feeling for these 2 lovebirds are too deep to accept anybody else to play these roles .... -

@40somethingahjumma I totally agree with you that everyone is out for vengeance whether there is a justified reason or not. They all blamed XE. On another side XE maybe be doubting wheather she made the right decision to follow YX, from the moment he mentioned that there is a plan to start a big fire on the day of his revolt along a busy street to the moment YX claim he never forgive or allow the Xiu Li army to return to Yan Bei, this is all against her principle. She never meant to hurt any civilians but she may be naive in this aspect bec like someone say there is no bystander in war. She seem to come to the realization when YWY reminded her there will not by any less sufferings or lost lives from 3 years ago and when the actual war starts btw Yan Bei and Wei, there will be even more lives going to be lost unnecessarily. XE may have second thoughts about YWY because she always believe that YWY is the emperor's lackey and never thought he is loyal not to the emperor but to the country and people of Wei. XE will still go to Yan Bei because she needs to know about her past and the only one can tell her is Wu. Whether she will be totally loyal to YX is yet to be seen, but knowing XE character, she might try to change him.
Me too, the only sunshine I see is when YWY come onto the scene. Its about time, he leaves his grandfather for whatever reasons because he is giving him too much unseen/seen pressure by always reminding him about this duties and the gap btw XE because she is a slave. YWY is probably going to love XE more now that he sees all her scars, YWY expression shows how shock and probably sad and heartbroken that his beloved must have suffered a great deal, a small woman like her has such horrendous scar on her back... ..
I love to watch the fighting scene, finally YWY can be a little bit happy now and playful seeing XE again not to mention getting a accidental kiss as bonus!

Yes, quite enjoy the scene too and they even add a very happy melody as soon as YWY block the knife from XE. I also agree that YWY knew it was XE at the door otherwise he won't be asking for a massage ... after 48ep, we know alot about this very cold yet shy YWY and his preference .. except for XE, don't think he allow any female to touch his bear skin ....

See everyone is obsessed in knowing where the bell went, I notice something in ep 35 where XE was being challenged by YWH about bring sword to the palace and YWY came to the rescue .. check out if the thing hanging on the sword case of YWY it is is the bell also while the flight XE-YWY trying to get back each other sword ,,, I may be wrong and my eyesight may be playing tricks ... someone with good eyes check it out please

Now I am tempted to read the book, I am itching to know how and why she left YWY. So please tell me how do I get my hand on this! thanks! Its so fun watching and imaging all sort of things with YWY-XE. I think they do feel for each other but the circumstances do not permit them to show their feelings ... YWY grandfather, his obligation as the chief of "CIA", XE wanted to find out about her mother, her slave status etc etc.
When they went to the secret room only for official spy, I keep imaging OO7 and all the gadget that OO7 uses ... the thing that would be interesting would be a turbo-powered horse that XE probably need to use for her next assignment ...hahaha so funny, Ian Fleming probably would flip if he watches this .......

Anyways, what is everyone going to watch this weekend while waiting for new episodes? I skimmed through Pretty Li Hui Zhen, aka the Chinese version of She was Pretty, but couldn't get into it. I need a drama with a strong female character.
If you need something funny and don't mind its a old drama, try divorce lawyer. The female lead is good and the male lead is so comical sometimes and they make a great pair. Another one you can try is Lu Zhen, the Female Prime Minister with ZYL also the female lead but you may get confuse with her present character in this drama. I got the same confusion when I watch LGX is Zhaozilong (赵子龙), had to stop before I mixed YWY and ZZL up ...

It's pretty clear that Xing Er caught YWY's eye from the beginning, not in a romantic sense but rather her uncanny agility during a human-hunting episode. He has been gradually attracted to her while spending more time together and taking a closer look at her (as I expected). The way the drama portrays Xing Er as a special, super intelligent, mysterious yet very beautiful woman, who wouldn't fall in love with her but all these divine qualities are tarnished by just one thing; her slave class, and it's supposed to be one of the main themes in the drama.
As almost Chinese ancient/fantasy dramas, every character is struggling for something, no matter how high or low class they are, rich or poor, gods or men. Some for power, some for survival, some for revenge, and some for love. I think the drama might run its big screen portion through the battle of city states, the assassination and evil tricks employed to get the win so I expected lesser romantic scenes from main leads (I hope I was wrong in this point lol.). I read the drama synopsis somewhere that Xing Er will leave YWY and join force with YX and finally fall in love with him. However, I think she was attracted to YWY much earlier than expected, she just didn't know herself since her heart was so clouded by hate and revenge on YWY. I remember the scene when Xing Er knelt down asking for a chance to attend the maid-chamber contest, when YWY walked out to talk to her and this should be the first time that Xing Er saw YWY at such a close range, I can see that she was amazed by his appearance, her wide eyes were helplessly fixed at him momentarily, then a few seconds she just looked down to avoid his gaze. (lol maybe it's my own imagination) so up until episodes 8, I really think that she already feels something for YWY, she just needs a kind of temporary separation to knock her in some sense that how he had sacrificed for her and how she misses him so much hahaha.
I'm looking forward to seeing Xing Er smile lovingly to YWY when she finally knows her heart. Now all I see is her serious expression and scowl on her face .....

XE is starting to doubt herself about the revenge thing as YWY did tell her that what you see may not be what it is and she recollect how YWY cut her arm to punish her but actually to kill the spider and let the poison out. She's getting more brave infront of him and becoming a little bit playful with him (see this more on ep 9). Just love to see them together and if you know Chinese, you will like all the phrase YWY use on her to "belittle" her .... YWY cold on the outside and warm in the inside!
