I finally took that quiz and I came out to be DS. I was so happy. She is what drew me to R88 with the family. And then, of course, I got all wrapped up in Taek and DS thought I was fighting against shipping those two so I could really enjoy the show. This forum of course let me realize it was a lost cause and I might as well sink with the ship only to realize we came out on top!
I am still trying to catch up with the last 40 pages or so and I am AMAZED at how you guys find new things. I thought it was amazing with the first 300 pages when we were watching the show. I am seriously stunned at how much DEPTH there is in this show and how PERCEPTIVE AND INTELLIGENT all of you are. It is also very nice to have different perspective, including a MALE perspective.

CONGRATULATIONS! Wow, way to come from behind. I do think it says great things about the entire cast and crew that the top two ships were from this show (and continued to duke it out to the end with SunTaek on top).

That is funny that they had picked out PBG and H first. I always thought it was weird when people started saying RJY was the lead because I had read so many articles saying PBG was cast as the lead. I know the first few episodes really lacked Taek in person, but as all of you mentioned he, through his room and friends, was there from the beginning.
Are we still waiting for voting on the videos?I always wonder why life is like this: something happens so everyone is rushing to get things done, and then the wait begins so you wonder why you needed to drink so much coffee and stay up.

I saw that this thread has gone to the second page of the shipper thread and that is a NO NO. So I am writing to make it pop back up.
No, really I wanted to say I am enjoying all your posts and wonder how you guys do it. When I start watching this show, I get all wrapped up and ADDICTED that I can't stop with one episode. Then, I get behind at home and work. My hubby thinks I am sick because I am not acting like myself. ... All that to say, I can't join you in rewatching.
R88 is not like other shows, especially variety, where I am done in 20 minutes. I envy you guys and admire from far.
I do hope some or many of you are working on the fanvideo for the shipping contest. I loved all your entries thus far and know how talented you are. FIGHTING.

Who said this drama was a melo? It's a freaking comedy! Loved the ending. CH's lines were too funny, trying the viewers... You wanted a happy ending with weddings and hearts but isn't that boring for this show? Or something like that. Blackout. Volcano erupted so go to emergency stairwell. HAHA HAHA nurse and doctor song had the funniest expressions. cute and funny.

Just saw the news about the Blood OTP getting married. It made me think wouldn't it be grand if we had news that our couple was dating? They are too young to get married. But date...now that could work.
On another tangential note, I hate that JEstina commercial with PBG and KYA. NO chemistry. Just odd. Unlike our couple who sparkled in different ways from the beginning to end.

Reading the text preview reassures me that this is really about the OTP. What is left to be tackled in this relationship than a long deployment? After all they dealt with secrets, lies, inability to talk about the job, life threatening confrontations, mines, shootouts, kidnapping, cars running over you, phone calls saying you have to leave for emergency... Did I miss anything?
Rest assured MY and SJ will store up happy memories of when they are together to savor for when they are apart until they are together again. No bad ending.

I sneaked in half the show. I really liked it. I am glad that even if they are back in Korea, they are still working through what it means to be dating a special forces leader's job, and an overworked surgeon. I think that is the common theme of this show, and their work gives them the natural conflicts such that you don't need cancer, noble idiocy, the usual trope of kdrama.
Of course, you still have to turn off your brain at times because seriously who codes and then just gets up to interrogate someone.
I also liked the family reunion bit as a result of what SJ did, and MY understanding if SJ ideals as a soldier. It shows a soldier's work may be used for good rather than just to kill and maim. I am pretty much a pacifist but it is a good reminder of what might can be used for good. All the action and political shenanigans aside, this show really is about the main couple working through their issues.

I haven't had a chance to watch the last couple episodes but thanks to all of you I have been following it!
I did catch the YouTube clip of the end and our couples double date, and in that order. I went from shock. I couldn't believe that episode 13 will be where SJ us bullet-riddled. Gak - the make up job made him look on the eve of death. Freaked me out. My only solace was that the first ambulance was not carrying DY. Thank goodness the patient was not wearing the white shirt. I bet SJ saved Day from being shot.
Thankfully the next clip to show up was the couple date. SO DOGGONE CUTE. The double entendre.. the only move he knows is that on his phone... SO FUNNY. I never knew KES could write like this. What a complete DY Is by taking and saving photos of the license plates of taxis that he had put MJ in after their dates because those he felt he could keep after he had to destroy all the photos of her after they broke up. Swoon.
I also found it hilarious that he admitted he didn't know what a normal date was so he would always ask her to go out drinking with him. Doofus.
I also loved that the main couple what so in sync about what was cheesy or not from the STP that they reacted the same without prompting from each other. May and SJ are really made from the same cloth in terms of humor. Love them.

While I have been reading for a while, your collective WTF has made me come in to say I agree that was one messed up finale.
But one thing that I didn't see in the live recap (thank you for all you who do it) is that at the end, according to Korean articles at least, SeJoo said to Choi team leader that he used "Instant Dungeon" as master. Under master's authority, only the master can make an InDun and SeJoo thought JW W as the new master may have used it and thus is alive in the game. Thus, at the end when you see the shadow of YJW, it is not that he has become a NPC but that as "master", he is in there protecting users from "monsters" of the game.

I haven't had a chance to finish watching it since my connection crapped after 15 minutes or something, but I think the game words right before the reset said something about the "bug" characters that may explain marco etc. At least, knet don't seem to be so mad about that part that generally how can it end with JW and SH like this. Many repeating your words that SJJ should be the bug that need to be rest etc.
I hesitated starting this show due to SJJ but then got hooked by HB and PSH's acting, despite neverending shooting and crying. This final teaches me though, even in the able hands of this director and actors, I should never watch SJJ's shows. I don't care how great the concept, all the other issues (e.g. her inability to have internal logic in her own fantasy, character development, inability or refusal to EDIT out irrelevant, frivolous things that don't matter to her story center, and inability to end a story properly etc.) make it a non-starter for future shows. Now I am going to rant a bit - why does she ask in her interview for audience to pay attention to mental side of YJW's story and development and that the ex-wives are "important" to that when I still have really no idea what in the world happened with his two ex-wives to know what impact it had on his psychology . The one narration while he was sick about how much he appreciated HJ taking care of him sincerely impacted him after what he went through - that seems all I need to know considering his ex-wives issues never came through. I have to stop now or I can rant for too long.
My condolences to all who had to suffer through the finale. Thank you, however, as a reader for making the thread enjoyable to read - and at times really humorous to be able to survive to the end.
In case someone associated with drama reads this, thanks for all your hard work because you did your best and you let me see the greatness in HB's acting, PSH's development as actress and acting, and their chemistry that really surprised me. Signing out for ... hopefully not years....
