  1. @timi163 Miss you so much, dear *hug* I want him to star in a drama that both well written and mainstream at the same time...I like most of Noh Hee Kyung's dramas (except It's OK it's Love and Padam Padam) I wanted him to act in Noh Hee Kyung drama just for sharping his acting skills but Noh Hee Kyung's two dramas in a row was just enough and sure, he won't act for the same writer work as a leading man in three consecutive ones.

But I'm anticipated in Noh Hee Kyung next drama because of Ko Hyun Jung, she is a great actress and my most favorite.

  2. @kate8 Jo Jae Hyun is one of my favorites, I am a fan of Kim Ki Duk so I have ever watched most of Jo Jae Hyun works including his latest one "Punch". I mostly paid attention to Jo Jae Hyun and Jo Min Soo in Piano, not Go Soo or Insung lol

I would select Insung, Jisung and Jo Jae Hyun from the rest of these contenders...But I am more impressed by Jo Jae Hyun's performance in Jeong Do Jeon which he got Baeksang Awards' best actor last year (it is hard to get the same award two consecutive years)

So agree with Sandglass, anyway...that drama is such a good one.

Noh Hee Kyung already got the recognition she deserves, daer...most of her early works got so much praises and awards although they didn't do well at ratings.

More Beatiful than a Flower which she penned won best drama award at Baeksang in 2004 (in stead of What Happened in Bali which is iconic) But her recent works including TWTWB and IOIL have some noticeable flaws in spite of remaining her best thing "complex characters" in the scripts that elevated the acting skills...this woman made three people win the daesang and made a bad actress like Kim Min Hee become a good one after acting in her work so she is a good writer definitely but her overall scripts were not that good recently.

@timi163 All contenders are good in their own way, dear...that's why I said it was hard to choose the only one out of them.

    - Lee Sung Min in Misaeng...seems like the easiest character to act but it is difficult to make this character stand out without skillful acting.

    - Jo Jae Hyun in Punch...no words to describe this man, any actors who used to act in Kim Ki Duk's directed films can handle every role tbh.

    - Between Insung and Ji Sung, put bias aside, I can't choose tbh...Ji Sung's acting style is not my type but his role is the most difficult to portray while Insung's interpretation and acting have more depth (this is strongest point in his acting like Choi Min Sik and Ko Hyun Jung) It is based on what factor you consider more.

You know what, Insung's scene in IOIL that I like the most is the one that Jang Jae Yeol crashed the car with the baseball bat, his acting in this scene is so complicated and not everyone can act like that.

As I used to say when I judge any performances, acting techniques is one of my counting factors.

    * Misaeng is the best drama out of 2014's and early 2015's to me.

    * I would choose D.O. in IOIL over Im Si Wan in Misaeng...Im Si Wan is agood actor but his best was in The Attorney with Song Kang Ho.

    * Insung was the only actor out of the best actor nominees that didn't participate in the ceremony, I am happy though, I am tire of seeing his name in realtime search ranking in this such situation lol

  3. @moniw18 Miss you so much *hug*

I get it, dear...Korean Awards system is a mess lol

"Daesang" (or "Grand Prize") is the way Koreans call the biggest award in any awards ceremonies...something is similar to Palme d'Or of Cannes, but the daesang is not only for the specific thing...acting of the actors, the drama itself, the variety shows, MCs and the directors, all can be awarded. This year's TV daesang went to the director of the variety show Three Meals a Day.

You know Choi Min Sik is my favorite but I have never been impressed by his acting in Roaring Currents and this year's Baeksang Awards, he got the daesang in film category...(just like Scorsese too late received Oscar's best director from The Departed which is not his best work) plus Roaring Currents is the higest grossing Korean movie of all time in Korea.

Baeksang Arts Award is the most prestigious TV award in Korea (their film category is inferior to Grand Bell and Blue Dragon Awards) which is hard to predict the result lol some years they really focused on the quality while some years didn't that much...

So the daesang which Insung received is the biggest award at Apan Awards.

  4. Anyone in this year's roster deserves the best actor award but I am just more impressed with Insung and Ji Sung.

Insung didn't join the Baeksang Awards because he didn't get any awards same as he didn't join last year's SBS Drama Awards because he didn't get even the best actor award.

For some who said he always participates every award event...lol...you are completely wrong...he has participated the awards ceremony where gave him significant awards...such as...

    - 40th Baeksang Awards along with Ha Ji Won.

    - Korean Film Awards with his first best actor award related movie which he was really proud of.

    - 2013 SBS Drama Awards where gave him that Special Award (which was announced just before Lee Bo Young's daesang despite the doubt of the award after the event ended)

While...he was absent at 2013 Apan Award that he didn't get the best actor award and 2014 SBS Drama Awards that he didn't get even the best actor award.

These are not that something wrong...big stars are always like this, not only Insung.

  5. @timi163 @blim0523 @moniw18 I like his curly hair lol I like Harry Styles's looks lol

They change their hair to fit the characters. Jang Jae Yeol is free spirited, that's why the hair stylist did soft wave perm for his character. I don't mind at all if he is shaved bald in his next projects lol as long as it suits any characters he takes on.

@Maimee doesn't announce the confirmation yet, dear...you are so cute.

  6. Miss you all. Happy to see you again @luluwannagohome

Sorry for the late reply all my lovely girls.

First of all, thank @moniw18 for being able to remeber my past grumble lol

I really want him to focus on his acting career, dear...take part in many projects as much as he can before his 40s because it is the only way to improve his acting skills better and better, you know what, I see something special in him, something that I rarely see in Asian actors.

Taking on any CFs takes less time and easier than dramas or movies (meaning being less pooped with satisfying proceeds lol)

As Timi used to say that being a presenter for many CFs can manifest the fame of any stars but not all the cases as I used to say as well, some actors  limit their appearances in CFs because of the worrying about an impact on their "actors" image or their roles in dramas, movies.

Insung was called "CF King" before but I'm glad he accepts less CFs now because he has grown as an actor.

Koreans have no problem with accepting many CFs as long as those actors still do acting jobs (especially, famous actors) and not too much product placements in their works. For instance, Won Bin, one of the most famous actors in Korea who doesn't accept any acting works for 5 years and getting bashed, one of the reasons why I want Insung to accept more ones.

    * I would like to share some fun trivia about Insung...being a presenter for electric appliances in Korea ( rice cooker, kimchi refrigerator etc.) shows how famous that star is, meaning an upper status, their household names...in presenter selection process of one electric appliance (I don't want to specify) they listed some very famous stars including Insung but he was one of the candidates whose name was crossed off in the end because of having "too celeb" image lol

  7. @blim0523 "I couldn't agree with you more" What do you mean by this?

You would be happy if Song Hye Kyo joins this film but I'm sure you know how hard would it be to bring the recent on-screen couple  into one frame again...even Ha Ji Won who is one of his most famous partners (12 years up to now)

Oh! Maybe it will be Kim Min Hee because of her connection with the dirtector Han Jae Rim (in Very Ordinary Couple)...I'm sure you know I'm just kidding, my dear.

  8. http://news.donga.com/Main/3/all/20150514/71237653/1

According to his agency, he positively intends to accept this role.

    * The Director is the one who directed "The Face Reader" and the producer of "Very Ordinary Couple"

    * I will translate thoroughly when he announces the confirmation.

    Quoting my post.

@blim0523 What do you mean? Insung got an offer from the director Han Jae Rim only this "The King" project not that adaptation of "Trace" manhwa (which the news said it has the same director...some source said Insung got an offer from "Trace" project lol, it is not true.)

Ha Ji Won's new TV drama is going to be aired which the male lead is Lee Jin Wook.

@Wanderer17 Thanks for the full translation.

  9. OMO! I didn't want to post it as quote...I'm getting crazy with this new Soompi tbh *sighhhhhhhhhhhh*

@moniw18 I'm neither right nor wrong about that because I have never read that recap's comments. I just think maybe it was not him who was referred to because he is not the only person who kissed SHK in TWTWB and Kim Young Hoon got bashed by some people which I don't agree at all ( you know I really hate an insult and it was just a work for any actors)

Btw, "He has really grown as an actor, I like both him and Matt Damon" I think so too, dear and I don't get people who claimed he is silly, this guy is one of the smartest people if you look at his directed films (I like all his three films)

I like Chris Hemworth too, I like his personality.

Anyway, Insung like Leonardo Dicaprio...no surprise...their acting style are similar.

  10. I coudn't even edit my last post *sigh* Anyone here can advice me?

    Correction - (lol)

    Miss you all.

I can't handle new Soompi lol

@moniw18 I'm so obsessed with Ben Affleck's next year Batman v Superman stuff, dear.

@timi163 Of course, not that adaptation of "Trace" manhwa but he actually got an offer from the same director Han Jae Rim (The Face Reader) He may take on a drama and film consecutively, good for him.

  11. @moniw18 I just recalled. That person was talking about Insung or the guy who played as Song Hye Kyo's fiance in TWTWB? Not only Insung who kissed SHK in that drama.

"That Winter, The Wind Blows" Viewers Hate for Kim Young Hoon after Kissing Song Hye Kyo

@Maimee Hope you will like his next project and his female lead as well.

  12. @Maimee Miss you, dear. No,It is not Moon Chae Won. Just wait and see.

@moniw18 "You know the feeling when you are watching a scene and you are no longer "in the moment" but become aware they are merely acting.  Sorry if this doesn't make sense lol..." I get it, dear and we used to discuss about it in both this thread and PM more than once...I have my theory and vice versa.

Acting wise of Insung aside, I do prefer That Winter The Wind Blows over It's OK It's Love in terms of storyline, theme. If the first one could have ended with the dark tone as Noh Hee Kyung planned it at first, I would list TWTWB as my no.3 instead of Shoot For the Star.

"I know you will think I am an incredibly shallow person" I won't and never, dear.

"Is there a romantic drama of substance that you (or anybody else here) can recommend that has a happy/satisfying ending?" I will be listing it for you.

""...I still shudder at the memory of that nobody-actor kissing Song Hye Kyo in That Winter. LOL"..." Ignore it...I never paid attention to any untrue comments but I'm just curious why that person dragged him into that recap's comments section? He/she is Song Hye Kyo fan or a person who doesn't like Insung? If that person really doesn't know Insung, no need to take it seriously...as Maimee said there are many people don't even know famous stars, you know what, I used to hear someone saying she doesn't know Leonardo Dicaprio.

Talking about this year's Baeksang Awards, I'm satisfied with both best drama and best actor nominees, I can't choose but I think Insung or Ji Sung will win.

As I expected, It's OK it's love was not nominated, it has some flaws (like That Winter The Wind Blows) plus this kind of drama is not something new in Korean entertainment industry as Timi used to say.

Lastly, Maimee and Moniw, my lovely girls, sorry for the late reply. I'm really into Batman V Superman's stuff recently when I have some free time...I can smell political and religious things from that film lol so I will continue barely visiting this thread lol

  13. @moniw18 miss you so much...really *hug*

" Now I have 3 Korean dramas under my belt lol...(I bet you are laughing). I don't think you would have watched it as you have a very particular taste...."

You From Another Star is one of the three so the rest? I will never laugh at others' choices, I respect it. I recommend I'm Sorry I Love You, let's try it...it was filmed in your country.

I watch all genres of movies and TV series, dear...independent to blockbuster ones, I just like the ones that I think are good enough for me. Batman The Dark Knight is my favorite. Just as I used to tell you I like Michael Haneke, I prefer the darker tone of any films or TV series.

Anyway, seems like Insung made a decision on his next project by now (With his female lead that Timi likes), just wait for the time to announce it.

Btw, my favorite dramas of him are 1.Piano 2.What Happened in Bali 3. Shoot for the Stars 4. That Winter The Wind Blows. What about yours?

@timi163 miss you dear, this thread is more chaotic when has you lol

@willenette that ratio news once again? lol Thanks for all the posted news as always. I'm too lazy.

  14. @SusanC So agree.

@hanna3188 @spuffniche Don't worry about it. It will be good for her domestic comeback, Kim Eun Suk's dramas were more successful than Noh Hee Kyung's ones because of her writing style. Song Joong Ki had the chemistry with Moon Chae Won who offers the same atmosphere as Song Hye Kyo does.

Edit- Song Joong Ki is one of the talented actors, don't worry about it.

@hergurlc I don't like Kim Eun Sook's previous works either but she always performed mainstream dramas, that's why I wanted her to accept this role and it is a drama genre this time plus there are two writers for this drama.
