  1. Oh! I forgot to say this (as always lol)

The co-writer of this drama is Kim Won Suk who wrote The Queen's Classroom in which Ko Hyung Jung was a leading actress (Ko Hyun Jung is close with Song Hye Kyo) And maybe Insung and Ko Hyun Jung suggested both leading actor and actress of this drama to accept the roles huhuhuhuhuhu my inmagination is leveling up, right? @blim0523 lol oops! I may be an occult shipper kkkkkkk

-Edit- Oh! And Jin Goo who played as Insung's subordinate in A Dirty Carnival...one of the principles of being a shipper is to need to link every little thing together, isn't it? @hclover96 huhuhuhuhuhu

  2. Happy to hear Song Hye Kyo drama comeback confirmation.

Even though I never liked Kim Eun Sook's dramas, she always delivered big successful ones. It will be good for her domestic comeback.

Honestly, I started having interest in this drama just because of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. And I think this new Kim Eun Sook project will be different from her previous dramas, it is a drama genre one.

  3. @timi163 Insung's role in Spring Day was not a supporting role from the beginning(of course, it was after his big success from What Happened in Bali) it was like in What Happened in Bali, both Insung and So Ji Sub were male leads but just Insung was more outstanding in What Happened in Bali and Spring Day (So Ji Sub's breakthrough role was in I'm sorry I love you, I think this is his best and I really like this drama...it made him well known internationally)

I have to admit I really love Ji Jin Hee character in Spring Day (I dislike Insung's character) but Ko Hyun Jung and Insung have chemistry so the drama's fans wanted their characters ending up together in the drama.

What Happened in Bali and Spring Day are the most successful dramas of him but the former was more popular, Koreans always consider What Happend in Bali "his masterpiece" (in terms of popularity) 조인성울음) kkkkkkkkkkkkk

I exclude Piano from the above list because his character was just a supporting role.

In my opinion, his work which I wish it to disappear is Love of South and North, I really dislike this film tbh and I don't get the reason he accepted the role up to now, the script and everything of this film were just...

Timi "Insung will always have good chemistry to whoever he will be paired with." Yes, that's why he always has the rumors with his co-stars including Jun Do Yun and Ko Hyun Jung whom he thought he would not have with because they are his noonas lol (they are about 10 years older than him ) But Insung ssi, Ko Hyun Jung was a Miss Korea runner-up kkkkkkkkkk

And if Insung is the type of person who cares about the rumors he would not have changed his agency after such a big rumor of him and Ko Hyun Jung, right? @badsmuler I still remember many released news on that day, it reignited the rumors around him and Ko Hyun Jung.

  4. @timi163 " a lot of Insung fans like WHIB, I don't. Don't get me wrong, WHIB is a very very good drama, but I don't like endings like it was on this drama."

You broke my heart, I'm one of these fans who like What Happened in Bali *broken heart* lol I'm sure you know I'm just kidding (I knew you don't like the ending of the drama) I really respect other opinions as long as it is based on facts and reasonable.

I think you know why I like WHIB, the ending is one of the reasons surely.

What Happened in Bali is my no.2 after Piano in my favorite dramas of Insung list...Shoot for the Stars is no.3 (although I liked him from this one and his acting was good)

But among all his works, What happened in Bali is most relevant to me, the drama that made him a topstar Jo In Sung, can be selective about his own works.

@Maimee " , the kissing scenes really grossed me out" you are talking about the kissing scene with Joo Jin Mo as you said before? lol

  5. @Maimee "did he just acquire new properties in Itaewon? I know this forum does not dwell much on his personal affairs but my cute self is just curious."  You didn't read my posts on page 605 yet?  Are you talking about that building which some Korean media wrote about?

"his personal affairs"  You can ask, it is not related to his personal affairs at all, just the media these days is just like this.

This is my post on page 605 "I am translating that article which I found absurb along with Kil Yong Woo's article (on February 2nd) of purchasing the building nearby Insung's.

There are many celebrities who purchased the buildings in Itaewon, it became a new booming economic area.

Insung bought the building in 2012 while Gong Hyo Jin in 2013 before they acted together in IOIL So? that's why I found it illogical."

Btw,"I thought his love for white shoes started only during iotl, lol. This was around 2012? " No, It was before IOIL. You don't know he is a fashionista?  It is called Nomcore, you can read my post about it on this thread.

@LoVeCartier Thanks for the translation, my dear...I'm translating many of his Korean articles now and the one you translated above is one of the said articles. thanks a lot.

    @timi163 Thanks for the pics.

Edit- Oh! I forgot to say all what I wanted to say once again...  Maimee, he used that building in Itaewon as his younger brother cafe since 2013.

He said he has been interested in vampire role.

@timi163 His caps in IOIL are his own, he is a fan of baseball. (I'm sure you know about it)

  6. @calalily You can express your opinion, dear...

" I watch movies for entertainment" yes, most people are like this and I love it but I grew up learning about film, e.g., writing (theme, plot), Cinematography, editing (I have started watching Kim Ki Duk's films since high school because he always says something that Koreans don't want to hear through his films.) So I always said everything related to any films or TV series based on theories.

I don't mind whether ratings result is good or not at all, if I think that drama is good enough for me, I will go on to watch it.

And I was not even surprised about IOIL ratings, Noh Hee Kyung's drama never did ratings that well in Korea except More Beautiful than a Flower (also one of the most critically acclamied of her darams, actually, her early works were praised much more than her recent works)

Someone used to say Noh Hee Kyung cannot perform the mainstream dramas unlike Kim Eun Sook and I really agree (it doesn't mean I like Kim Eun Sook's works though)

The reason is because of her pace in writing...I cannot label any of her dramas as "thriller" (Black Swan,Seven of David Fincher,Psycho of Alfred Hitchcock, Funny Games of Michael Haneke or even Oldboy of Park Chan Wook etc., these are psychological thriller films and Alfred Hichcock, Michael Haneke's works are my favorites) you can blend drama, horror, psychology as its elements but thriller genre need to have fast pace to stimulate audience's emotion...all of Noh Hee Kyung's dramas have flat, sluggish pace and this is one of the reasons why most of her dramas didn't do well about ratings. And of course, I prefer it that way, and I cannot label any of one of my most favorite director Yasujiro Ozu's works as thriller either, the camera only moves once in Tokyo Story, one of my most favorite films.

"too much of skinship maybe?" No, this is not the reason for me, dear...His Frozen Flower has much moreeeeeeee skinship and I even watch NC-17 rated films...A muse is one of my favorite  Korean R-rated films, I started liking Kim Go Eun from this one...art is art in my dictionary...

Just like @timi163 said IOIL is not the first Korean drama for having this kind of scene, but my point is that these scenes were taken to overdose in this drama and unnecessary for the theme, plot. A Dirty Carnival has many subplots, this is this film's defect (but it is still a good film) Don't be bothered by my words, just like I said, I don't watch any dramas or films for entertainment.

Edit- TWTWB did quite well in ratings for Noh Hee Hyung's dramas.

  7. @timi163 " seemed like my favorite movie Love , Rosie ( with Sam Claflin)." lol him again...I am jealous, just kidding kkkkkkkkk

The remake of Taiwanese drama is kinda fine in Korea.

Edit- I expect a TV series for his next project after IOIL and then film after that, a role in film that I want him to try is smth like Dr.Terence Fletcher in Whiplash, just a normal character whom we can meet in real life but well written (plus J.K. Simmons made this character so special, I have to admit I even prefer his herformance in this one over Daniel Day Lewis's, my most favorite actor in There Will Be Blood)

But Insung is so obsessed with Vampire role lol

  8. @LoVeCartier‌ You know what...I don't like IOIL much...I always liked Noh Hee Kyung dramas because of the natural and effortlessly conveyed thing in her dramas but I felt opposite in IOIL, everything seems try-hardish even many kissing scenes the director tried hard to put in this drama...there were some scenes that I don't know the reason why the director made such a kissing scene. If the leading roles have the chemistry to each other, no need to use a lot of kissing scenes, especially it was unnecessary for the drama itself.

I was so worried about it before its aring...one of the cast said there would be many kissing scenes.

For example, there are many bed scenes in Frozen Flower but "power and lust" is the theme of the movie.

I am not impressed by the cliched theme of IOIL "love overcomes everything" because in real life it is not, just like I said to @moniw18‌ the world is not a utopia.

That Winter The Wind Blows is not my most favorite of his but I prefer it over IOIL, if you look at it carefully it is psychological drama.

    * His drama work that I like the most is Piano (not his acting, but I know you like his acting in this one) the love that father gives to his children really touches me, such a pure love.

    * The only thing that impressed me in IOIL is the complicated character Noh Hee Kyung wrote esp. Jang Jae Yeol character.

The only thing I don't like about TWTWB is the ending...I really expected the dark one.

  9. @blim0523 "I love the way you love Insung..." seems like we are talking about Rihanna song lol

"very balance, honest and prudent" same goes for all my friends and the ones I love.

I hope he still remember all what he has said in the past (but maybe he doesn't...oops! I'm sure you know what I mean, it is because I follow all his interviews, maybe he changes his answer now kkkkkkkkk)

The answer when he replied to Chinese media in Shanghai last year.

" How do you define a "good actor"?

JIS: A good actor, should be a good person, so I want to be a good person.
  10. @blim0523 the way you complimented him was interesting lol

I think you know my personality quite well, you are better than me at complimenting for sure lol

You will never hear me calling him smth like "god" or "oppa is so handsome" from my mouth...

More specifically, I really hate when people overpraise their biases but look down on others.

Everybody is aging and if you ask me Insung was more handsome when he was younger (I meant, in person) , of course, everybody is like this.

And he was more prudent before tbh...

I don't want to see him acting like full glass of water but I don't want to see him being extremely humble either...you've got to balance it well.

If you are his fans and used to read Ahn Hyuk Mo's books, you will know he got the thought of being humble in acting from whom...smth like" Acting is not done alone. When you match your act with other actors, that is when you receive compliments.

You cannot act great alone. It is not like swimming, where you can win first place by yourself, but like an harmony, with the staffs and other actors." words that Ahn Hyuk Mo usually taught his students including Insung, Shin Min Ah, Jun Ji Hyun, Jang Hyuk, Kim Sun Ah, Song Joong Ki etc. which is Insung's motto but I never get used to it.

So I am waiting for lulu's translation and I miss her ^^

  11. Yes, this was his first time of official visit in Thailand but actually, this was the fourth time he went to Thailand, the first time when he went for shooting Nonstop before he became well known in Thailand because of The Classic. (yes, that special umbrella scene)

There are many his Thai long-time fans started liking him from The Classic, I know many people who started liking him from this movie (but I started liking him from Shoot for the Star)

Oh! And most of his Thai long-time fans call him "darling" ,not "oppa Jo"

  12. @blim0523‌ hahahahaha

@hclover96 " I don't think she left early.  She came late, but she stayed and watched the broadcast of the last episode with the rest of the cast and crew.  KTW, who plays Moo Chul in TWTWB, was on a show and he was saying that when they were all watching the last episode together, he heard crying.  He thought it was JIS and SHK.  It turned out to be JIS and Kim Bum hugging and sobbing together." So funny, tbh lol that's why this guy really suit a melodrama genre, the media even called him "Melo king" lol

You know what? I always heard some people saying he overacted in that train platform scene, you know what I mean kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Don't kick my richard simmons out of this thread because of my profile photo anyway, please...kkkkkkk

  13. I like when he was with Han Hyo Joo...his stare, so comfortable around her.image-D890_54E43ABE.jpg

Ha Ji Won is one of his co-stars that I like. He said that she is really nice actress when was asked in Infinite Challenge who was the most warmhearted actress.

    image-B0DF_54E43BBB.jpg

But I want Lee Da Hee for him as a partner in new drama...she is a good actress and also beautiful, more specifically, I expect something fresh...Lee Da Hee only played as a leading roles in one weekday morning and one primetime drama.

    image-11A0_54E43DFD.jpg

  14. @blim0523 Some people even said he would marry Song Ji Hyo lol (yes, of course he had dating rumors with Song Ji Hyo)

@willenette Oh! Thanks for the translation...so I just will translate Kil Yong Woo article only...

The translated article you posted above was not the full article anyway...

I have no words for the media today, tbh...Insung bought the building in 2012 while Gong Hyo Jin in 2013 before they acted together in IOIL So? that's why I found it illogical.  There are many celebrities who invested in Itaewon.

The media even revealed Insung and Gong Hyo Jin financial information *sigh*
