  4. Kim Hee Sun Has A Seemingly Perfect Family In "Bitter Sweet Hell" MBC’s upcoming drama “Bitter Sweet Hell” has released stills of Kim Hee Sun! “Bitter Sweet Hell” is a new black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts Young Won’s career and family at risk, she teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family. The drama is a collaboration between writer Nam Ji Yeon of “So I Married the Anti-Fan” and producing director Lee Dong Hyun, who helmed “Doctor Lawyer” and “She Knows Everything.” Having played various characters throughout her 32-year career, Kim Hee Sun is a well-established actress known for her versatility. After tackling roles ranging from romantic comedies to melodramas and even actions films, Kim Hee Sun will be making her first venture into the black comedy genre through her role in “Bitter Sweet Hell.” In the upcoming drama, Kim Hee Sun will star as Noh Young Won, Korea’s most famous family counselor, who is loved by the general public. Noh Young Won appears to have everything—a successful career, a doctor husband, wealthy in-laws, and a handsome son who is a model student—which makes her the envy of the public. However, Noh Young Won struggles to maintain her seemingly perfect family, which has its own share of petty problems just like any other family. The newly released stills depict successful doctor Noh Young Won receiving a Doctor of the Year award and also doing her best as a dedicated wife and mother at home. At the award ceremony, NohYoung Won delivers her acceptance speech with an emotional expression while holding a trophy and a bouquet of flowers in her arms. In the next photo, she is seen personally picking out her husband’s work outfit with a sweet smile on her face, while in another, she is captured sitting on the bed and chatting with her son, who has just woken up. On why she chose to star in the drama, Kim Hee Sun shared, “When I first received the script, I laughed so hard that I cried while reading it. I chose this drama because the plot was so unique and unlike anything I had ever seen before.” She continued, “There have been many dramas about conflicts between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, but I think this may be the first time I’ve seen a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law team up. It was fascinating to see how these two very different women come together to protect their familiy and how they come to understand each other in the process. I felt even more confident about taking on the role knowing that I would be working together with actress Lee Hye Young.” Describing her character, Kim Hee Sun explained, “Noh Young Won is a very independent and rational woman. She has put in a tremendous amount of effort to perfectly maintain both her career and her family. She prioritizes her family above all else, and she is a wise person who strives to be a peacemaker and ensure her family’s happiness. However, as she learns about the hidden sides of her family that she thought she knew, she experiences tremendous shock, betrayal, anger, and confusion with each new day. Because of that, I paid even more attention to controlling the intensity of my emotions [in my acting].” The production team of “Bitter Sweet Hell” commented, “Kim Hee Sun is bringing Noh Young Won to life with her incredible immersion, character understanding, and tireless analysis.” They added, “Please look forward to Kim Hee Sun’s performance.” “Bitter Sweet Hell” will premiere on May 24 at 9:50 p.m. KST. https://www.soompi.com/article/1658302wpp/kim-hee-sun-has-a-seemingly-perfect-family-in-bitter-sweet-hell
  5. Ji Sung Is A Narcotics Detective Who Becomes Forcibly Addicted To Drugs In "Connection" DRAMA PREVIEW SBS’s upcoming drama “Connection” has unveiled its main posters! “Connection” is a new crime thriller starring Ji Sung as Jang Jae Kyung, a well-respected detective who is the ace of the narcotics unit. Jeon Mi Do will star as Oh Yoon Jin, an opinionated and outspoken reporter who works at a newspaper. Although Jang Jae Kyung is a trusted detective who cares deeply about his principles, his world is turned upside down when he is kidnapped and forcibly addicted to a mysterious new drug against his will. In the first of the two newly released posters, Jang Jae Kyung stares intently at some yellow pills scattered across a table at the police station. From far away, Jang Jae Kyung looks every bit the sharp detective ace that he is known to be, looking wary and composed as he inspects the drugs in front of him. However, a close-up poster reveals the troubling truth: rather than calmly examining the drugs, Jang Jae Kyung is unable to tear his eyes away from the pills in front of him. The detective also looks nervous and unstable, as if he is barely restraining himself from reaching out for the temptation that lies within arm’s reach. The caption on both posters reads, “The narcotics team ace that has become addicted to narcotics.” The “Connection” production team commented, “Ji Sung is a meticulous actor who never does anything by halves. Even during the main poster shoot, he displayed just how meticulous he was and proved why he’s such a trusted actor.” “Connection” will premiere on May 24 at 10 p.m. KST. 7. Kim Hee Sun And Lee Hye Young Are On Different Pages In New Poster For "Bitter Sweet Hell" DRAMA PREVIEW MBC’s upcoming drama “Bitter Sweet Hell” has released a new poster! “Bitter Sweet Hell” is a new black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. The newly released poster captures Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang standing against the backdrop of a snowy mountain with very different facial expressions. Noh Young Won is captured with an intense gaze and serious expression. On the other hand, Hong Sa Gang is laughing while looking up in the sky. The Korean title of “Bitter Sweet Hell” is a pun that can be interpreted in two distinct ways: the Korean word “woori” can mean a “cage” or “pen” for raising animals, but it can also mean “our,” which would make the meaning of the drama’s title “our home.” Commenting on the title of the drama, the production team shared, “We wanted to show a fresh take on the traditional concept of family.” They added, “Amidst the unpredictable chaos and plot twists of our story, we wanted to give viewers a precious chance to reconsider the true meaning of family.” “Bitter Sweet Hell” will premiere on May 24 at 9:50 p.m. KST. https://www.soompi.com/article/1658288wpp/kim-hee-sun-and-lee-hye-young-are-on-different-pages-in-new-poster-for-bitter-sweet-hell
