    I love the King's Woman. It was a tragic ending but also very fitting for each character. Second lead was boring as hell and I skipped all his scenes, but main lead was a very complex, damaged man. He is a fascinating figure in history and I love the way BB portrayed it. I think Reba's performance was outstanding and her chemistry with Bin Bin was over the top. In my opinion, Vengo and Reba gave off a more romantic, sweet, I-will-love-you-forever type of vibe. However Reba and Bin Bin were all forbidden passion and lust. I love her with both of them, honestly. The three of them are my favorite Chinese actors.

     

    For those who want to watch a light, modern drama to get over ELOD, I recommend Skate into Love. It's an on-going drama and unlike most Chinese productions, the female lead is strong and independent. The main couple have great chemistry and are very funny together. The second lead is a sweetheart. It's in Youtube with English subs. We get 2 new episodes each day.

    He did not recover his power. He has only 10% of his cultivation. That's why he almost die in his final fight with ML. The author has said he needs to sleep for 500 years to recover his full power. However he doesnt wanna miss more time with Xiao Bai and Gun Gun, so instead he will sleep 3-4 months a year for the next 1000 years.

    I was rewatching the last scene. So cute how BGG said "Mother, Father, you are kissing again. I want a kiss too." Just that alone, we know DH and FJ are frequently affectionate  in front of BGG, and are affectionate to him. 

    Gosh, just imagine how shocked people would be to see a supposedly stone cold DJ full of affection. DH is certainly a all or nothing guy.

     

    I hope TQ will wrote a novel staring BGG. But I guess she needs to think of a proper name for hom first.

    I love that interaction too. That, plus the boat scene. I know we joke DH is jealous of GG but I think he sincerely wanted a excuse to hug his son. I was an only child for six years and I used to love sleeping in the middle of my parents' bed, because it made made feel safe, protected and twice as loved. So when I say GG sitting between his parents in the boat, it was evident they are a very close and affectionate family. DH finally has a family who cherishes him and adores him and whom he loved to the sky and back. It makes me so happy...

    I know why many here are frustrated for the lack of steamy scenes. I personally don't mind it very much. I'm used to C-dramas and we still got a couple of really hot kisses. What I missed were a few more kisses in the lips during the last episodes. DH gave her a lot of forehead kisses, and also there is that sweet kiss in the nose, but I would have liked to see more romantic kisses.

     

    Fans also complained about the last episode. However I really liked the way the filmed the battle scene. How DH and FH came together at the end, and he accepted her as his equal despite her youth and inexperience. It was very sweet and fitting. I am sad that we didn't get an extra episode to enjoy sweet moments with them as a family, and I am pissed the nice demon lord ended up with that richard simmons JH. He deserved better.

     

    Nevertheless the epilogue in the book is even shorter. DH meets GG and FJ is still sleeping. So the drama at least expanded a little on that.

    I always thought DH went to the MR after he woke up. Otherwise there are some inconsistencies in the book. These are quotes from the book. First FH talking to XG and then Ye Qingti  talking about "mortal" FJ.

    I always thought that when her shadow failed to repay FJ debt she went to the mortal realm to repay it there by helping mortal DH with his trial. There are similar examples through the book

    As far as I know, DH went to the mortal realm in the book. He was the Emperor and was crazy in love with FJ, who was his concubine. FJ did everything to make him turn away from her but it didn't work. A the end, she wrote a letter to the Empress confessing her love for her and outing herself as lesbian, she was found out and only then DH gave her as a gift to the general. We don't see it happen but FJ thinks about it in a flashback.

     

    I also heard Reba is leaving her company. A pity, since I really wanted her to do another drama with Vengo. I watched V-Love but there don't end up together, right? Subtitles were missing at crucial points, but as far as I understood it, Vengo's character was in love with Yang Mi's character. However in myasiandrama she is listed to appear in a drama with Vengo and BinBin, I think, although neither of them will be the main lead.

I prefer FJ in ELOD - the FJ here feels like a little sister to me, pretty flat character.  After this, I have to decide whether to watch Candle in the Tomb or re-watch ELOD :lol:

    Does anybody have the link for those scenes? I used to watch them in youtube but they have been deleted it recently

    It is not horror. I hate horror movies. It is an adventures, treasure hunting series. It has 4 seasons. Season 3 is a prequel. Vengo is the grandad of the main female lead in season 1 and 2

    If you guys have VLC player, I can upload the episode subtitles to my dropbox account. They're all in English and pulled from Rukuten Viki. However because these are fan effort translations, sometimes the subtitles are incomplete and from time to time scenes will lack subtitles. And for episode 39, I think that one might be out of sync, but that's possible to fix.

    The episodes where V+R appear together are 1, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37 and 40 :P I believe.

    Right? I think this reflects an underlying issue in the Chinese culture. I lived in China this year for six months and my Chinese friends had a strange relationship with their boyfriends. Most of them didn't think a boyfriend is a friend, so there were many things they didn't share with them. I don't think there is an open, honest communication between most Chinese couples, at least, no the way we understand it in the west.

    I only disliked the narrator ending. I mean we didn't need to know what happened next, especially if there weren't going to do a series about it. Next season is coming out this year. I checked Vengo's upcoming projects in mydramalist and is listed there. Although it says he will only be second lead this time... Not sure why

    I am huge fan of the Mummy and Indiana Jones, so I've watched many movies of this kind. For me, the first 3 episodes where a little bit slow and confusing, but from then on, everything made sense.

     

    Three groups are working together looking for an old tomb, where it is said a huge treasure was buried. A clan leader who is rich and has many followers: he wants the money to feed the people. A clan leader who has only two followers (Vengo): his clan was cursed 2000 years ago; their blood turns golden and they die young, so he needs an especial orb to break a curse; he hopes the orb is in this tomb. And a general: he is greedy and doesn't care how many soldiers die as long as he becomes rich.

     

    They know the tomb is buried deep inside the in the mountain. First, they try climbing down the canyon -- but they find a very poisonous centipede species, so Vengo decides to investigate the local village to find out an antidote/way to fight off the centipedes while the other two search for a different entry.

     

    Of course no everything goes smoothly. After they find another entry to the tomb and a way to fight off the centipedes, they are betrayed by one of the general bosses.
