At the moment, I think they swap for the timebeing only so that JY can stay in Korea to look for LR, ES goes to Corea to help the King cover the absence of JY to not create rumor and alert to LR.
But if ES develops his feeling for the Media girl and JY develops his love for Nari then the writer nim really has so much thing to settle for all characters to have a decent happy ending lol. Wow, I really can’t take my eyes off this drama to see how the writer solves and wrap up everything!!!

So in the following part, I can't quite tell if that's JY or ES, because it seems like based on the clumsy running by JY/ES actor it could be ES there (look at right corner with guy in black suit; usually JY dresses differently from the other guards)?? Omg yes!!!!! That means the swap of JY and JES. JY stays and corporates with JTE and SJ (?maybe), ES leaves with LG and takes the role of Unbreakable Sword for real .
I must say it takes me so much bravery and brain to keep watching this drama as I go against many of my K-drama friends (they gave up) and I have to rewatch again and again to think about the plot. That’s how I love this drama - making me curious and can never give up till I understand .
To be honest, I like how natural JTE is, I like her natural look (so authentic), I like LG (although I am not a fan of LMH), this role is really for LMH acting, being slow, calm, elegant, not expressive, all those should be how a King looks like and act upon. I like all characters and stories involving them, each one plays important key to the whole story. And my fav of course are JY and JES, always.
I feel like I have signed up for a module that is so tough and interesting at the same time. Many students may drop but many stay too. I must go to class every Fri, Sat, do so much homework (rewatch and analyze) and have group assignment, group discussion (@soompi) in order to pass the module with flying colors. Let’s wish that our module will have all student score A+ with happy ending. That’s more meaningful than the rating to me.

I am not a fan of the lead couple and have never watched any of their dramas.I started The King quite reluctantly due to CB but suprisingly, I have to rewatch all the episodes to pay attention to every single detail to think and connect all of them together. The scriptwriter is awesome. She makes us always think and analyze. I also like the cinematography, the autumn is so beautiful, Busan is so charming in Corea color. And my fav are Yeong and Maximus.
Can’t wait to Friday!

Cos the PD nim just happened to make SR house too big lol. I also try to find fact to convince myself abt the lack of their intimacy in SK. Then I came across the scene when JH taught SR to knock at her car to protect wild animals (and her too) during winter (I love that they love animals so much lol) then SR naturally repeated his action...then she suddenly realized. After that she asked JH to not do anything anymore to make her missing him too much when he left SK. JH’s face expression when he promised said it all to me why he tried to hold himself back so hard in SK

They are taking photos to be photoshoped into their Swiss house. You can see some photo frames by the window when SL taking the flower vase to the balcony. I love how they pay attention into such details. There is a photo SR posted on her IG of this scene, there was no photo frames by the window when they filmed in Switzerland earlier.
By photoshoping new photo frames, also publishing the stills that SR looks pregnant, the PD and writers are really trying to provide us materials to believe that they are happily married and having children and live happily ever after for sure, I think

She keeps coming back to the same theme, which is SAUDADE and waiting with hope and longing, as fleshed out via the separation of RJH-SR, SR-Ahjummas, SR-ducklings, Ducklings-Seoul. In the end, I believe writer-nim is really trying to connect it to the separation between North and South Korea, and the longing that both have for each other, and the earnest desire to be reunited.
I really hope to read more about the writer's thots about CLOY and all the themes used. Gonna hunt for it, and hope to find it. Anyone who has any articles or interviews, even in Korean, do post the links here!!
Yes, exactly. Thank you for write down exactly the weird feelings that I always have while watching CLoY but can’t describe. I laugh and love everything of CLoY but can’t help feeling sad at the same time. The SAUDADE is so real, the separation and longing to meet eachother again are so real. In real life, many separated people of the Korean lived & died, & never can find or see their bro, sis, children, mom, dad... again as it has been almost 70 years! I still can’t imagine :(.
I am very happy reading somewhere that NK defectors said they can sometimes contact their relative still living in NK through China connection, so at least there is still some hope there....
Very sad fate for the Korean people, I feel.-

If i didnt remember wrongly, when SR crashed landing on JH, he has been serving army for 7 years since his brother died. He needs three more years to complete the national service?
