Wednesday-Thursday dramas are the most difficult timeslots with lower ratings. Because of practical reasons that it is mid week. Most cable stations put love story dramas in this timeslot. Before WWWSK, JTBC's Something In The Rain was the highest rating Thursday drama (it was Thursday-Friday I think). Then WWWSK aired last June 2018. For now, WWWSK still holds the record for 2nd highest Wednesday-Thursday drama next to Encounter. Third I think is Familiar Wife.
I already said before here how I am having second thoughts on PMY accepting a new drama so soon after WWWSK's success. Not because of jealousy but because of these scenarios on ratings plus story comparison. WWWSK is still very fresh in the minds hence comparison is unavoidable.

It depends on the drama. Park Seo Joon is very wise selecting projects his romcoms always have high ratings.
Some KNetz call HPL as Secretary Kim part 2. Maybe because in some scenes, PMY really looked like Kim Mi So.

I did not hear any rumors about PPC before WWWSK. What I heard were rumors about him and Kim Ji Won but I could not explain how seeing WWWSK teasers made me so excited last year and it was the first ever drama that I watched raw on live stream. And at around Episode 5 or 6, I was already a solid shipper and here posting in this thread.
Good thing the drama was very successful.
But i am wondering what if no mess happened after the finale. What if there was no dating news that came out? We probably had PPC together during Awards Season last year.

PMY was always touchy and sweet with other drama partners. She was also touchy to PSJ during Press Con interviews but became a bit conscious later on.
HPL pilot ratings is 2.7 more than a half lesser than WWWSK's 5.7 but it was a Park Seo Joon drama he has a much bigger fanbase. As to the story, I am hoping HPL plot improves.

I learned there are not so good reactions on Naver. I hope it will improve on Episode 2. I am about to watch now.
Most of the HPL twitter hashtag are Thai fans of Jung Jae Woon. So he is very popular in Thailand.

Dr Prisoner has a very solid plot and normally, RomComs have lower ratings than other genres.

Dr Prisoner is a non cable drama so for sure it will have higher rating than HPL but it does not mean HPL won't be successful based on cable tv standards

Wednesday-Thursday dramas are known to have lowest ratings compared to other days because it is mid week. For TVN, WWWSK was already considered a very successful Wed-Thursday drama with highest of 8%, followed by Familiar wife with highest rating of 6% then Encounter with highest of 10% then Touch Your Heart with 4% peak.
TYH had much hype too remember PD Park even said he expected it to rate higher than WWWSK but ratings decreased from 4% pilot to 3% and it never went back up again till finale. But still a successful cable drama.
Hopefully HPL ratings will perform well on ratings. If only they also count International views

TVN has no year end awards night. They had an award show few years back for their 10th anniversary where they gave out Best Couple Awards for some TVN Drama couples at that time.

Good luck to PMY and HPL team tonight.
It just kinda makes me sad that PMY is now into the new drama without PPC getting any Best Couple Award in major award shows when we all agree that their chemistry are super okay compared to their past partners.
I think I am not biased and blind of their chemistry that deserves award in my opinion.

About PSJ offered a role in Something In the Rain, it was in Dramafever site ( that site already stopped and I wonder if their paid subscribers of dramas were refunded money) but anyway, it was there that it was written that "Did you know Jung Hae In almost did not get the role in Something in the Rain? Because it was offered first to Park Seo Joon. "

The accidental following and unfollowing has happened to many Korean celebrities. Do not put too much meaning in all their actions. You will be happy if it is positive while you will also be very sad if it is negative.
Just go with the flow and just hope and pray that if indeed PPC are dating in secret, they will be able to remain strong together until such time they will both be ready to marry.
For now, as fans, all we can do for them is support their separate projects.

There were solid PMY fans who do not like PSJ and who once said PPC shippers will soon disappear when she will have a new drama.
It seems like they did not realize how deep is the extent of shipping PPC shippers have for this couple.

The ones making MV of PMY and KJW are most likely only promoting the drama. Making noise to promote the pair. We can still ship their characters on screen.
Offscreen is another matter. But as you can see, a lot of people shipping PSH and HB because of Alhambra even if she has confirmed she has bf (I personally like PSH and HB chemistry
) and even SHK who is married there are shippers of her onscreen Encounter character with PBG.
I have read tweets and ig posts from SSC fandom about there are toxic shippers who are unsupportive. Let's try not to be like that. Let us not make PPC fandom be called toxic.

Not just 50, SHK deleted several hundreds that she almost deleted her entire public account like what PSJ did. So, PMY cleaning up her instagram is not a big deal. It is normal for celebrities who want privacy. SeoWon shippers think he deleted KJW for privacy so ChangMin shippers can use that delulu right now also.

I love them both and I knew PMY longer than PSJ but I think in both as ad model and as actor, PSJ is more popular.
Proof:
1. His Hallyu Acting Award. PMY has no Hallyu Award yet.
2. His instagram followings has always been huge even before WWWSK. PMY instagram followers only increased so fast after WWWSK.
3. Watch EFact August 2018. Media compared him to almost the same status as Lee Min Ho before.
4. Forbes Most Powerful Celebrities of 2018 list. Him in top 22.5. Go to Korea. You will see PSJ photos everywhere.
6. Magazine covers. PSJ solo magazine cover of Japan magazine during WWWSK promo and he has more magazine covers. PMY has more magazine features than cover.
7. Size of fan meeting attendees. PSJ held FMs at larger venues.
His success is her success and if you are a shipper, this is non issue.
Of course, different outlook for individual fans only and those who do not believe they are secretly dating.

I think Namoo likes to take advantage of PMY being called RomCom Queen. Strike while the iron is hot. She could have chosen a non webtoon- webnovel adaptation though. Maybe she will be called adaptation queen after this one.

Running Man casts/hosts are A Listers themselves so they do not need more A Listers with high talent fees as guests.
also, many A Listers in Korea seem to have a strategy of not being always seen and they seem to be too careful of their image. For example, most of them are not active in social media, among those you mentioned only SHK has public SNS and her posts are rare. I seldom hear from JJH but when she appears in public, it always become a headline.
Jo In Sung has appeared in Running Man before since he is bestfriends with Lee Kwang Soo and Song Joong Ki who used to be in Running Man.
PMY should try co hosting variety shows as she is good as MC. Hopefully she will try it this year after HPL.

Yup but during KBS Awards QF7D was not given proper recognition unlike FFMW.
Genre and story for the drama is also very crucial for its success not only the cast. I am kinda nervous for PMY doing another webtoon (webnovel) straight after WWWSK and her amazing chemistry with PSJ. But lets trust that Namoo has considered this. I think HPL storyline can capture the young audience as well as the old.

After Saja, PSJ will for sure do a drama and he is known to be very friendly to co stars too. Just ready your hearts for more to come. This is just the tip of the icing so to speak.
