  1. Not sure if this perspective has been presented before but I think everyone remember in one of the Swoon clips where HB and SYJ  each prepared a calendar for fans?   In that clip HB chose a couple selfie of them two for the calendar.   He decorated it with lots of "fighting" hand drawings and presented as the main theme for his calendar.  At the bottom right of the calendar he put a "crush landing with umbrella" sticker.

Son Ye-Jin's burst into laughter and said :  This is for me, isn't it?   -- LOL  -- I wonder what's in her mind when she said that?

Of course this could all meant that HB wished CLoY to be successful.  But another way to interpret it could be HB's secret way of telling himself and the fans "fighting" for their relationship (since the photo he chose wasn't his individual selfie but a picture of them together)?

OH my heart!! As a long time fan of them both, of course I'll put on a brave face and say I'll support them no matter what...but deep down my heart will be very torn if thing doesn't go with the direction that I expect.

Just to end this post with this quote by Paulo Coelho in the book The Alchemist:  "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it".  -- Marriage or not, it is indeed Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin's choice and we fans have no business in it whatsoever.........except sending our good wishes, hope and keep our optimism ?   As fans, I say let's all visualize our couple happily ever after in clear detail ..and hey, one day we might actually see the universe conspires to give us what we want (I think there are millions of BinJin shippers all over the world? ) and we wake up and see the duo's happy news all over the place with their wedding announcement!!!!

    Fighting :wub::heart::wub:  Hyun Bin & Son Ye-JIn  :wub::heart::wub: Fighting

    This is one comment -

dkdlstm I think he was asked what he was expecting to see. He answered that he was expecting to see Jung Woo Sung's performance. Then I think the interviewer jokingly asked, 'You're not expecting Son Ye Jin's performance?', he then laughed and replied that of course he's expecring her performance too.

just to add one thing:  ...in one of the HB's interviews in 2009, when asked about who his favorite actor was:  HB's answer was Jung Woo Sung (he said most people in his generation liked Jung Woo Sung).

Is CLOY popular in China like in Korea? As far is know it doesn't have Chinese cooperation or anything..

In this interview, all people speak with Taiwanese Mandarin accent - it is a Taiwanese entertainment show.   I think most people watch the show in Netflex in Taiwan (which sub 1 hour (at 10:00pm) after TVN), though there are also many websites to choose from to watch CLoY....They usually sub K-drama about 8-10 hours after the show time in Korea.  But since CLoY is so popular, I've seen many of them  subbed within 3-4 hours after TVN.

  4. I am hoping that the scrip writer better has some grand ambitious plan brewing in her mind in the physical connection department of our couple, else I think she simply takes pleasure in seeing us rolling on the floor clamoring for kissing scenes.  And really, it is not that we are asking too much at all...the lack of kisses/hugs in the story line at this stage of the plot simply illogical and against human nature to me!!

The lines and shots of ring exchange, bridge confession were beautifully, I will give them that.  They are lucky that they have Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin on board because that is most likely the only reason these scenes still pull off and emote viewers' romantic sentiments/tears.   But that along doesn't offset the awkwardness and embarrassment those scene caused upon the viewers with the prolonged gaze, stiff body language and physical distance of our couple.  On the bridge (also the scene before the actual birthday party outside Seri's home) , SR even dropped JH's hand after holding it briefly.  I am really frustrated and disappointed at the inconsistency of their love for each other and their physical intimacy.   It it continues to be like this in the next episodes,  I sure will start to think something is seriously wrong.

I love love love Cloy and our couple but sorry I am just tooo tooo frustrated...

  5. the last scene - so much distress for me !!  Looking at the preview (without translation)..it seems that JH and the ducklings cannot even go to the hospital  --- with JH staring into the sky and the ducking sitting and crying at the site where SR is shot --- I am guessing because of their status in SK and the hospital/police are bound to investigate the reason for gunshot which will further complicate the situation.....

pff....i cant wait for EP 14.

ps:  I am so pissed that our couple didn't even hug in EP 13.

Just like what we predicted ? Shaman’s prediction ....

I feel that we can sort of tell even without shaman's prediction as in EP 12 I notice there are a few deliberate shots focusing on MB's face .... with him full of emotions seeing SR/JH and the 5 ducklings reunions and during their gatherings.   I am thinking he may have a little plan of his own.  He is the one who knows lots of secrets of NK army and officials and I think he will somehow use his intelligence to help get JH/SR and the duckings out of the harm of CCK.   It shall be very sad for his family if he dies, but I doubt MB is able to live with the guilt if anything bad happens to JH.

Son Ye Jin is Korean Box Office Queen 2009 - 2019.

It's amazing that DYJ has surpassed Jun Ji Hyun, Ha Ji Won & even Kim Hye Soo senior, who she always looks up to in term of acting to become the highest grossing Korean actress for period 2009 - 2019.

I read it somewhere that says

Among all the beautiful actresses, Son Ye-Jin is the one with the best acting skill.

Among all the actresses who act well, Son Ye-Jin is the most beautiful one.

  8. some quick notes:

I think in the interview with HB, there was this aura of shyness and femininity in SYJ's body language and facial expression that I do not see in the interview with KNG (even though there were some touching-on-the-arm from SYJ to KNG).    As for their kissing scenes in BTS, I sense slight tension between HB and SYJ's but not so much at all between KNG and SYJ.

    Just my observation here.

And I totally agree with @usadango  that there is NO way they are holding hand under the table.  HB and SYJ are professional actors and sorry to say this but I don't find the idea amusing at all. -_-

Can I ask what roles did he turn down that were suppose to be with SYJ?

It was not mentioned in their Negotiation live interview.   Also in Esquire interview,  HB said that he would normally only focus on the script of the project when being offered a role.  "First of all, I will only pay attention to the script. Is there anything I want to express here? Is there anything in here that I am curious about? Is this the kind of story that people want to hear? Is there anything that is worth listening to? Can I perform the role? These are the questions I ask. It is only after I have found my answer that I find out about the surrounding circumstances"    I don't think he deliberately turn down any projects because of SYJ.

Just finished rewatching this episode. A very slow one. I basically FFed all NK’s ahjummas, SD’s wasteful meeting, mom and uncle’s antics, etc. I don’t understand why they put all those unnecessary scenes and prolong the episode up to 1:26. The one that kept me on the edge was the last 10 mins.

I agree!  I had to fast forward those scene the first time round...really I just wasn't in the mood for them and felt that those scenes somehow broke up the fluidity of the plot.  I only watched them on re-watch.

I just want to add that Hyun Bin's emotional interpretation of the last scene was simply brilliant!!!!  I bet he thought through and through on how to demonstrate the mix of fear, distress, helplessness, relief, and heart-wrenching sentiments JH must have felt when he thought that he almost lost Seri.  His expression was SOOOOO powerful and SOOOO beautiful!

Hyun Bin really is the best!

  11. How can one resist a cutie like Son Ye-Jin?

I am a straight married woman and just seeing her smile melts my heart....

Just imagine how mundane ordinary days will be like when you are surrounded by that happy girl?

It seems that she has endless positive energy to offer to all those around her.

Let's hope that Hyun Bin feels it too!

Hyunbin "It is happier to think about the future than the past"

For the future, Hyunbin is living in the present.

    By: Esquire Korea 2019.08.21

    with OMEGA

    (Translation here by: Elsie Lee)

Q: Do you ever want to go back to the past?
    A: No, I don't.
Q: You are so decisive about that.
A: I think I am the type that prefer the future to the past. Rather than going back to the past, I prefer to go to the future.
Q: Which part of the future do you want to go?
A: I just want to be able to go to the end of this drama right now.
Q: At the end of Crash Landing of Love?
A: Yeah. If only I could just see the time when the drama is just over .... (Laugh)
Q: Why? Because you want to know what the reaction is?
A: I'm curious. I'm curious about everyone’s reaction. I'm also curious about how my acting would be. Even if you can go back to the past and change something you don't like, there's no guarantee that it's going to work.
Q: When I asked if you wanted to go back to the past, I thought perhaps, there could be regrets which make you think you want to do differently. Or alternatively, it could be that at that time, there was happiness that caused you to want to go back. But for Hyunbin, even though you could think of regrets in the past, you still don't think you want to go back.
A: I see. Yes, I think so. I did my best at that moment. Of course, there were times when I was happy. It’s the same now, there are times when I am happy. But I think the future will be happier.
    Q: The future is happier?
    A: I hope so.

KimSooHanMoon - - Thank you SSOOOOOO much for posting this!!!    I have been looking for this particular translation of the Esquire Magazine issue for the longest time and I have finally found yours.

What a great piece depicting Hyun Bin's sincerity toward his profession and him as a person.  Again, he awes and amazes me  with his consistency throughout the years.

What a great man he is and has become.

In this interview, he elaborated how he was inspired by Son Ye-Jin's performance in the movie Negotiation.    I think Hyun Bin truly appreciated that particular experience he had as he himself is that kind of person who constantly searching for that "novelty" --- those subtle elements that helps/enable him to deliver new experiences to his fans.  He was on the receiving end of that impact from Son Ye-Jin while filming together and he found that thrilling and charming.    Well, I watched the movie Negotiation about half a year ago and till today, I still remember  the WOW factor lingered in my mind after watching his performance that day.   He was very different, it enables me to see the other Hyun Bin that I (as an audience) was not familiar with...and the delivery was indeed so very thrilling and charming to me...I couldn't find other words better suited the experience I had.

Something I am quite dumbfounded though is when asked about which part of the future does him want to go...Hyun Bin's answer was  "at the end of crash landing of love" -- and the reason he gave was that he was curious about everyone's reaction and how his acting would be.   I really don't understand this part.  They started filming  CLOY in August 2019 I believe in Switzerland? and the Esquire interview was done in mid-late September.  I really wonder why he would say that...while in CLOY's BTS or the interviews he gave,  it seems that he clearly enjoys himself while filming.  Can anyone please try to explain the possible reasons as to why he would said that ?  Thanks!

  13. I was literally shaking while watching EP 9, no kidding...and I couldn't  pin down exactly why.   Perhaps too excited, too fluttered, too worried, and too sad....all at the same time?   Excited about what would happen next, fluttered by the overflowing emotion of JH toward SR,  too worried that the episode would end too quick and too sad that our couple were about to separate....CLOY is so hard to handle and always makes me crave for more....

  14.  I am waiting restlessly and impatiently for Sunday to come.... I've become a complete lost case for CLOY!  Anyways..... I saw this  wonderful clip done by Sonal Sinha on Youtube and felt that I have o share with fans of SR and JH here on Soompi.   The lyrics are like Jung-hyuk's unspoken thoughts of what Seri has become for him ¬¬

She is a window and she is an arrow
She is a line in the sand
She is the ocean, that breathless commotion
That carries you far from dry land
She is the sunlight, that wicked blue moonlight,
The star to my wandering bark
She is the melody to my sad symphony
She is the way through the dark
She'll tip you over and she'll drag you under
And she'll sing that love is a fire
She is a mystery, my heart's wounded history
And she is the hardest goodbye
She is a lesson that I learned the hard way
    She's a long distance call
She is a casualty of my uncertainty
    She's a brick wall
She's an obsession and she's an addiction
That I thought I had beat
    She's a confession and she's a temptation
That walks by on the street
She is my skin holding my blood in
    And covering my bones
She is my meaning, the crutch I've been leaning on
    She is my own
She is a lifetime of strangers and friends
I know someday she'll stay by my side
