@oyashirazu about the list, I think rather than listing specific names.How about just saying "this is our birthday gift to you from your LJG soompi fans".I feel it gives more of a unified voice as fans and show that we are of one heart.I know not everyone managed to contribute for good reasons, but I think in the big scheme of things it shouldn't matter. By saying this whether one suggested something or not everyone feels included.I think almost everyone in the thread agrees with what has been said in the list or am I making a false assumption/generalisation?.

I see where you are coming from, well, talking about 2D1N.It wasn't just a simple case of him being offered and him declining it due to scheduling reasons..of course that's part of it but another factor was most people(netizens,fans even those who are neutral towards him like neither fan nor netizens) were of the opinion that he shouldn't join the cast for a number of reasons(good ones) but that's for another day.Refer to netizenbuzz and dramabeans if it helps about this.
JG as the oppa that we know, does take public opinion seriously. I remember in one "video interview I wish I had the direct source, but he said "the public responds favourably and my fans are ok when I do talk shows but are concerned that I would be overwhelmed if I was a permanent member of a variety show since its time consuming".
I know he will most likely not do rom-com any time soon.We love him in all forms, it doesn't matter
.I only meant to say he has done well in accepting the candy show and he will benefit from this good decision.He will stay fresh in people's minds, especially if the upcoming drama promos start very soon, whatever project it might be, after he finishes guesting on the candy show.Since he is receiving so much love as we have seen in recent polls(white day survey, the American survey + this show+Wang So syndrome) he will remain trending and buzz worthy up until his next drama.

Me neither.As long as he is having fun and gaining more connections especially with the TVN higher ups..Good for him.If you all are following news about him on social media,today the TVN PD of the candy show just complimented him.He said LJG has a cold and mysterious public image, but after getting to know him, he has found that he is very friendly and even wish he could have his phone number and a brotherly kind of relationship. He also said LJG is very caring toward the candy show staff.
These kinds of things can only be beneficial for him as an actor, because PDs across the networks talk to each other, and if he continues to leave positive impressions on them, they will recommend him to each other then that means more projects, more popularity and more money and everyone is happy

In addition,LJG has once again proven that he is a smart businessman.This saying that "strike while the iron is hot" is at play here.The more he maximises on his second wave of hallyu fame, the more it increases his visibility and appeal especially with the Korean masses.
I am not saying he is not popular in Korea but I am saying the more they see him on TV with this show,especially with his upcoming drama, the more inclined they will be to tune in, and see what he will deliver when the first drama episodes air.If the plot and acting is stellar with all the actors aside from LJG, then we have a winner.

I can agree about what you are saying about Joseon Gunman's lead actress(NSM).But Haesoo(IU) may I respectfully disagree.First I would argue that's an unfair comparison. Because one was born in the past and transitioning into a new era (Joseon Gunman), and the other was from our present and adapting and reacting to the events of a past era, with knowledge of history in her mind.Secondly, the standard of acting would be different, given one is a senior whose main profession is acting. The other is a junior whose main profession is being a musician, and no it doesn't matter if both of them were acting in historical for the first time.Lastly, I actually thought IU showed some growth in the episodes(9-14) you have mentioned.If you had said from 1-8 then yeah I agree.see my explanation about LJG,IU,and NSM in spoiler for the sake of those who did not watch SHR yet.Lastly, its not only historicals, but it is common knowledge, that Kdrama generally gives most of the multi-dimensional characters, to the main 1st male leads and 2nd female leads, while the 1st female leads are one dimensional.Nevertheless, Good 1st lead actresses rise above poorly written scripts or characters, that would easily border on annoying, and deliver to make their characters interesting, I can think of a few examples, even historical ones but thats for another time.So for Joseon Gunman, NSM simply under-performed. But IU with her skill set and how her character was written, she did well.I cant see another hae soo but her.
Spoilerep.10 when she was in the prison cell and how she acted with LJK(inner confusion, affection. is it love I feel for him?,It hurts me to see him hurt). To the cave scene in ep 11 when lady Oh was sentenced(desperation and grief. when she bawled her eyes out.In ep 11, she also how she acted in the rain scene when lady Oh died and KHN turned away(hopelessness,disbelief).To when she was demoted to water maid in ep 12(resignation.) to her breakup with KHN(assertiveness).I think that is where there was no wooden acting.She acted like how most of us would have acted if we were in that situation.All of this was in her body language, facial expression and monologues and how she modulated her voice to communicate her emotions.And in these situations, we could actually feel and see what she(IU) was feeling while with NSM none of that came through even when she was laughing, crying or whatever..we could not connect with her.
And yeah of course we are biased, if LJK starts sneaking backhugs and kisses like in ep 13 or making marriage proposals and saying lets elope..our eyes would have been shooting hearts and we would be smiling from ear to ear, everything else be damned and we would be saying yes orabeoni wth loads of aegyos to boot. But haesoo was a girl who had just gotten out of a relationship, she was beaten to almost being disabled, she had learnt that she needs to watch her words and manners lest she be killed.So of course she would be subdued and shut down.As for ep 14..lol if LJK was this close to your face like 10 cm away, you would freeze despite your active imagination on what you would do if you met face to face , when a man is that beautiful and he is saying them romantic words with such a sexy voice.At least haesoo was still alive after it all

Agree.He looks so beautiful this way.Ive said it many times and I will say it again.No part of Jun Ki's face is meant to be hidden.That is why his face was created so beautifully.I think someone needs to hashtag stylist-nim..no more bangs covering forehead.He can rock the bangs because well he is JG but why downplay his beauty when he can look this gorgeous without them.
Ah and how does he rock every colour of sweaters/jumpers/cardigan..green looks so beautiful on him.He also looked so pretty when he wore the yellow one at Hong Kong FM

88.(maybe).When I was watching the zaobao singapore interview.He was saying how curious he is about being a "bad boy, since he is the "good boy type", who is conscientious about what people say about him.Then something crossed my mind.I am amazed at how he has managed to maintain a good balance, between having a positive public image, and maintained an air of mystery around his private life, for such a long time(10+ years).I mean he is human and allowed to make mistakes, and what he does in private is none of our business. But its like everywhere he goes, both in Korea and International, he commands respect not only as an actor but as a person.It is very rare to find people talking negative things about LJG (netizens, staff, co-workers, journalists(although they say he had a brief "star sickness episode" at the early stages of his career but who wouldnt when you suddenly become famous haha).
This is a very difficult thing to do when you are a celebrity or public figure especially a very successful one like LJG. Respect!!How many idols, actors and celebrities, some who debuted later than lee joon gi both in Korea or even across the world have fallen prey to scandals, controversies became subjects of tabloid gossip.Of course some of it is baseless, but still for our love LJG to rise above it all, when he is such an open and transparent person, is still all kinds of awesome.

"Candy in my ear" has to me revealed another aspect of LJG's personality that I suspected he had but needed confirmation.He is very neat and tidy.From the way his trophies are arranged in his cabinet, to the way the floor in his house is nice and shiny, to the way he packs his luggage.Lol, even his dogs look well taken care of.Some would say don't exaggerate it's just for TV's sake but my gut feeling tells me otherwise.I love me a neat guy anyday anytime.This clearly shows he is husband material. Should he decide to get married, He can be trusted to look after the home efficiently and effectively if wifey is away.

Anyone remember this scene from his voice.arggh my heart broke with him.You can hear his sadness, desperation and longing for his mother's love.uri poor Wang So.I think it was ep 3 of moonlovers if not mistaken.I can't rewatch just yet.my heart still aches just thinking of scarlet heart ryeo.
NB:I must make mention that I have a new found respect for Lee Joon Gi's voice.I grew up listening to radio plays.lol lest you think I am an ahjumma hahaha,I am not.Just that in my country of origin, TV was not and is still not accessible to everyone coz of poverty so radio is the way to go for entertainment.Back to Joon Gi, you can still feel his raw emotions in just his voice alone.Even if scarlet heart ryeo was a play on radio or I was blind and couldn't see what the actors are doing.Still Joon Gi's performance as Wang So was really detailed and nuanced.He really poured his soul into the character.

Continuing Lee Joon Gi love list.
75. Ok I'm gonna sound pervertish here but ahem #sorrynotsorry.But really it's coming from me not as a fan girl(for a minute) but as a drama critic.He really is a "romantist"(whatever that means that's what he always say)too although he always credit Kang Ha Neul with that which I agree with but I do have a feeling that he is excellent at showcasing romance in drama.
Il explain; his kiss scenes in pretty much all his dramas but especially his post military ones,in my opinion, have a certain authentic ness or realness that is rarely found in other kiss scenes in dramas.They are usually not too aggressive or intense.Instead they are gentle and filled with so much emotion they can burn your screen.Especially in scholar who walks the night and moon lovers I could play the kiss scene over and over and over again because there is just that special feeling to them that I can't put in words.
Ah and when he is making love confessions instead of them sounding cheesy or just like an actor reciting a script or trying to look cool.His sound so passionate.so full of longing. so meaningful. so loving.moonlovers and arang and the magistrate best demonstrate this.

@oyashirazu well done Unnie for compiling the list.wow it must have taken you a while to dig up everything since this thread has moved very quickly.I suggest if a kind hearted soul is willing to translate the list to Korean.Please do before giving him.I feel it would be much better if we express our love for him in the language he understands the best and send him the English version too.Our oppa make effort to communicate to us in the global language.we should also repay him back by reaching out to him in his language.Thats my opinion though.No need to translate word for word just summarise one liners in the Korea version and full revised text in English.

You are absolutely right.Thats why I give her props for even managing to compile that list.And indeed no need for discussion of other actors when the thread is all about our precious LJG.Its just the topic at hand couldnt be written about, without mentioning others.
I am sorry admin.Sometimes I have diarrhoea of the fingers..type type type before even finishing gathering my thoughts.
Anyway back to positive things..No more distractions.2017 is shaping up nicely for our LJG.Variety, polls,FM.I am so happy for him.Thats how it should be. I'm now impatiently waiting for his drama to come out already for more of his awesomeness.
