I also don't know. But they (in the YT comments) talk about a model if I m not mistaken. I can't read Chinese to search some info in weibo and nobody talked much abt him in PA thread (hahaa...we are like gossip girls :D )

add. I pm you the link to the comments

    Sorry guys ott

  2. So Shawn gonna be in Bazaar with Liying?

tbh when PA airing from all the male casts I like Shawn the most (Shawn the actor, not Yan Xun). From BTS I like the way he smiled, joked, and touched Liying (put your mind out of gutters girls ). He was so warm like a ge ge or best buddies, and I secretly shipped them. Until I read some comments in YT that he had already had  a gf, there my secret ship sunk :bawling:

Hope smday they can be reunited in a drama again as OTP .

I think Hunan outbid them. Rumor is that they bought it for 800 million, no competing with that. But I think the production company asked for some requirements of them so I don't think they will ruined it like PA. It is the first time they sell to Hunan and they usually refuse to sell to them so I trust they asked for a lot.

As for Our Glamorous time, have you seen the by a I posted o  the thread? They look really good and have good chemistry. I am really anticipating it.

The PH is famous for their quality drama. So if they indeed sell Menglan to Hunan I have hope that they will make Hunan agree not to do things that can ruin their hard work.

I am really anticipating Our Glamorous Time  for now more than Menglan bcs already like the OTP and hv read the book. Unfortunately the translation available in several website look like from one person who now had stopped updating for a year. So I got stuck on ch. 18 when things start getting interesting (the first kiss :D and no-confession situation) ----- I was left hanging and this drama will be my closure... An interesting drama by ZLY and a handsome man, I m sold :D

Me too, think that maybe it will air before summer. Bcs period drama (with long eps like PA) need abt 6 months for post production (dubbing, editing, CGI, etc). So normally a modern drama need less time. Hopefully at the beginning of 2018 it will air already. And we'll have Menglan for the second half of the year

@minoku2209 yup, I hope her new dramas will be her next breakthru and make her not only  the most sought after actress in China but also more well known internationally. Most likely Menglan bcs I ever read international fans more interested in Chinese period dramas than the modern ones. I think its true, for modern drama so far only ZLY's modern drama that I like as much as KDrama. For most other modern chinese dramas, I still like KDrama more (like Another Oh Hae Young, Innocent Man, She Was Pretty). But maybe I just haven't watched cdrama much enough bcs I only started residing in cdramaland and ditching kdramaland since the end of last year (the main reason are ZLY's dramas). The last current  KDrama that I watched  was Strong Woman Do Bong Sun  after that no other one. Tried but can't even finish ep. 1 of current airing ones. I hv a strong belief chinse dramas (esp costum dramas) are on the rise  now. And our pretty Yingbao will be (and already) the catalyst that make ppl more aware of chinese dramas. :D

I don't want them to butcher Minglan

Yeah...me too, don't want it. If I'm not mistaken last year they bought PA even before the filming begin bcs it's ZLY's drama (which guarantee high viewership). Wouldn't be too surprised if they do it again with Menglan which on paper could be the most anticipated drama for next year   because it's ZLY's drama and the PH is very  famous for making good dramas. PA had proven it, with so many flaws and unfavorable airing time still the views broke the record.  So imo for Menglan they will all out to outbid other TV stations. And they have the money :bawling:

    I just hope that:

    1. The PH refuse their offer

    2. If they accept, they make Hunan agree with their term (like no editing  from Hunan)

@minoku2209 Zhang Han?? Is he the OTP?  hopefully it has a happy ending (what I'm afraid in a war drama is the possibility of the death of one or both OTP. In xianxia war is ok bcs they can revive or be an immortal :D ). Zhang Han looks handsome...   And the movie looks interesting.

Add. I'm really curious abt Our Glamorous Time because I think Jin Han is handsome since Wei Young. I read the translation and he fits really well with the character.  About FSF  I don't know him, never watch his drama. But from the stills I"m not interested yet in him hahaa...but we are talking abt ZLY here. Like someone said, she can make all her co-stars likable. Its true.. She can make me think that the male lead is really handsome and I will root for him. That's her power. She made the story believable. And my  feeling will be up and down depending on her character. And when her character fell in love with the male lead, I too felt that the male lead crush worthy So I will wait for FSF to make me fall in love in the drama

2018 like so far away... Why nobody translated OGT and Menglan the whole book? They should hire translators to make  English version of books/novels adapted into upcoming dramas of ZLY. Then sell them in Amazon. For sure a lot of ZLY international fans will want to buy them. Well...maybe someday...at least now her dramas will be bought and aired in YT  and got subbed  really fast...I am really thankful and happy

I am so mad they cut so many scenes. :angry:

Hunan and Ciwen are a horrible combo. I hope CIwen ruins their reputation and no actors are willing to work with them and less authors are willing to sell their books to them. ZLY has made them so much money with Journey of Flower and PA, but they still chose to butcher a story to make extra money. Another thing about Ciwen they don't advertise their dramas. PA had very little publicity since Ciwen's CEO has said before he doesn't want to waste money advertising. Not advertising increases their final revenue. What a greedy greedy company. They care very little about the hard work of the actors or about satisfying their viewers with a complete story.

I agree with you... I wish something BIG happen that will make them regret this.

side note: @mrsyooknit thank you for Advisor Alliance. My husband said it's really good :D

Is there legend of chusen 2 air ? But i see in google and youtube, i never found it

Yes, there is. But mostly abt Xiao Fan trying to revive Bi Yao, But from what I heard, actually it was part of Chusen I. But there was some regulatiom abt the length of one season or something so they divided it into two season (part 1 and 2). Chusen 2 aired not long after Chusen 1 ended. So basically it just one season that dividef into 2 parts.

Right now they are filming season 3 with different casts (not ZLY and LYF), some people even said the story will make Xiao Fan not end up with B Yao but another girl (the character previously played by Yang Zi---can't remember the name)

Actually, if we can watch those scene even in flashback, it's good even after 2 years? I guess. But I'm just afraid that we can never have a chance to watch it :(

Yeah...also think we'll never see any of that... The best thing that they can do, put all those scenes back for the DVDs version, and if they insists with the additional scenes then its fine and just make the eps longer (maybe abt 80 eps in total). Fans will surely buy it like crazy, because flaws or not the story (esp XingYue llovestory) is enough to overlook the deficiency in this drama. Only Make It A Happy Ending drama.... Is it too to expect? Yeah probably. Best bet they already made the DVD.

Dear Me... so many! Okay, I'll do my best...

Missing Scenes (according to what's stated here)

    1. After the lantern festival/meet, XE was pursued to be murdered by the Afterlife Camp, YWY saves her.

    2. YWY teaches XE to write

    3. YWY teaches XE to use the flying contraption

    4. XE's fake death rescue

    5. After XE's fake death, YWY drinks and reminisces about XE (accompanied by a monologue)

    6. YWY's development at the border (Yeah, I was wondering about this)

    7. After YWY and XE exchange swords, XE goes back to YX's place and sees the bell (accompanied by monologue)

    8. Dialogue between YWY and XE when fighting in the palace

    9. Discussing the bell during the one day spent as maid and when bandaging the cut

    10. Monologue after XE returns to YX's place when she completes one day as his maid

    11. Spa/Bathroom kiss contains internal monologue by both parties. They spent the night on the same bed. The next day, YWY combs XE's hair

    12. XE beats the Yue guards unconscious to rescue Minister Liang

    13. During YWY's force kiss of XE, there's an internal monologue from XE. After this there's deep painful sadness expressed by both parties in respective internal monologues

    14. After XE returns to Yanbei she meets up with Mr Wu

    15. XE's internal monologue as she plays the bili flute

    16. Battle between YWY and YX at Chang'an

    17. YWY rescues XE at Hong Chuan city and gets injured (I think)

    18. Kissing scene at Shan Shen temple

    19. Extended scene of YX's plan to kill YWY (I think)

    20. How XE breaks YX's trap

    21. Icy lake scene between both parties (Not sure which two. Most probably XE and YX)

    22. Scene after the icy lake

That's extensive.... Those parts actually the soul of the story... We viewers could feel more connected with the characters (XE-YWY) if we knew all those facts, not left with our wild interpretions... And all those were changed with fillers???  I hope ZLY - LGX next dramas will get better treatment than this  (for now I distrust Ciwen and Hunan)

  10. Thank you @minoku2209 .... Li Ying is always beautiful.... I hope Our Glamorous Time and Minglan will be a success , she deserves it.... And seeing that Minglan will be handled by PH with a good rep I expect that drama will be a huge hit. Will be waiting

These 2 days after THAT ending of PA I still can't move on...everyday still checking any news abt PA...  Did you also read that translation in PA thread, that there's some blogger that leaked actually a lot of important scenes got cut? (2 more kisses scenes, some important XingYue conversations, and the real ending folliwing the icy lake)... If you haven't, check p.462 and p.463 by 40somethingahjumma and fallentenshi.

(I didn't find you in PA thread nor shipping thread ,so just in case you miss that  I think I'll inform you here :D . Someone even wrote that PA2 was confirmed)

This story really got out of hand, but my guys wanted to talk and I had to let them have their say. This takes place not too long after the much more humorous story I posted earlier about the extra expenses/pregnancy announcement; I guess this is the world that my muse wants to inhabit at the moment, so I'll keep writing these as long as there's interest here. I flesh out some of my own version of the icy lake scene here; it completely disregards the recent information regarding some possible cut scenes and an alternate ending.

He Xiao looked out over the Red Hills Courtyard from his position at the top of one of its towers, still somewhat unable to believe his good fortune. Although he and his men had been just as determined as their young general to live in and protect Yanbei, the events of the icy lake had brought home to all of them that home was not found in a place or a nationality but with the people you loved. So when he had broached the topic of the future to the dozens of men who were all that remained of what had once been a force of 500, they’d all agreed that home was wherever Chu Da Ren was.

The look on Chu Da Ren’s face when he’d told her as much was something that he’d treasure for the rest of his life; there wasn’t a single man in their troop who wouldn’t lay down his life for her without hesitation, and they’d wanted to make sure that she knew it. Young Master Yue had neatly solved the problem of where they would go by offering them the use of Red Hills Courtyard since, as he’d put it, “Xing’er worked so hard to empty it for me.”

When he and his men had learned the bloody history of the place and the role that their general had played in completely eradicating the entire branch of a family, they’d eagerly claimed the place as their own via the right of conquest of their beloved general. Not that they held any illusions about the true owner of Red Hills Courtyard or that they meant any disrespect to their general’s husband; he and his men simply reveled in the thought that they were living in a place that had been emptied because Chu Da Ren had cleansed it of evil.

As if his thoughts had summoned her from the morning mist, the small, lithe form of his general hurdled almost soundlessly over the side of the wall that would be the most difficult for anyone from Green Hills to observe. He Xiao smiled as his general gripped the scabbard of Can Hong Jian in one hand while trying to smooth out her feminine robes with the other.

Not that he believed that she’d be in said clothing much longer; he knew full well that Chu Da Ren kept a couple of her old military outfits at Red Hills that were much more suitable for training than her current attire. After spending a couple of hours training with her men, he knew she’d change back into her more lady-like clothing and sneak back into Green Hills like she’d never left.

As she strolled confidently towards what was now the barracks, greetings of “Chu Da Ren!” rang out across the courtyard. She reemerged from the barracks a short time later dressed in the same dark blue robe and left shoulder guard that she’d worn the day that she’d come back to Chang’an for the Xiulis and defeated the then-owner of Red Hills Courtyard on their behalf.

A loud cheer arose from the men as they recognized the outfit, but Chu Da Ren didn’t even seem to notice the noise as she drew her sword and launched into what looked like an effortless series of complex drills. The noise level of the Courtyard dropped off almost comically as everyone—He Xiao included—got wrapped up in watching their general weave her magic with the sword that matched her husband’s.

All of a sudden, his mind was transported back to Xiuli Mountain on that fateful day when all of the tension between the competing powers of Yanbei had finally come to a head. Just like he knew that he’d never forget the sight of his general riding through the gates of Chang’an like an avenging goddess, he was certain that the image of a soaking-wet Chu Da Ren standing in front of an equally-wet, almost-dead Yuwen Yue at the edge of the icy lake with his sword in her hand and the snow swirling around her would be stamped on his mind for the rest of his life.

He and the Xiulis who had successfully fought through Cheng Yuan’s troops had broken the tree line and charged almost mindlessly towards their general, thinking only of shielding her from the barrage of arrows that was sure to come raining down from the ridge. They’d reached her just as the unmistakable form of Yan Xun had raised his hand to signal the release of the hail of arrows that would likely bring their deaths.

Chu Da Ren’s face had contorted with grief and rage and she’d...in all honesty, he still didn’t understand exactly what she’d done any more than he understood how she’d rescued Yuwen Yue and herself from the lake itself. She’d told him about the Wind and Cloud Decree and her returned memories, but he found much of it beyond him. All he knew was that she’d somehow released a great force from her body that had succeeded in knocking aside all of the arrows coming their way and sending untold thousands of frozen needles of ice and snow hurtling towards the enemy.

The cheers of the men jerked He Xiao back to the present, and he realized that Chu Da Ren had finished her sword drills. A white figured moved at the edge of his vision and he instinctively reached for his sword, only stilling his hand when he recognized the inscrutable features of his master. He gave the proper greetings, but Young Master Yue only nodded once absentmindedly, his gaze fixed firmly on his wife as she accepted the accolades of her men.

Suddenly fearing that his general was about to get in trouble with her husband, He Xiao said, “She only does non-contact drills that don’t endanger herself or...the life growing inside of her.”

He Xiao feared that he had overstepped his bounds, especially since talking about pregnancy could be a touchy, taboo subject. Yuwen Yue said nothing, and He Xiao once again focused on Chu Da Ren, who was now instructing some of the men on the finer points of archery. The contentment on her face was visible even from the top of the tower.

“All her life, Xing’er has craved freedom more than anything else,” Yuwen Yue said softly, startling He Xiao. “So many of her actions have stemmed from the knowledge that she was trapped, caged, and at the mercy of others. While I know full well the havoc that her impulsiveness and self-confidence can cause, I also know that she cannot be at peace unless she has a sense of true freedom. So I turn a blind eye, let her think she’s sneaking away from the tyranny of overprotective house guards and the expectations of how the pregnant da fu ren of the house of Yuwen should behave. I let her come here to spend time with her people in safety, to stay connected to an important part of her identity, and to keep her skills sharp. If I were to try to cage her...”

Yuwen Yue suddenly lapsed into silence as if he’d never spoken, his typically tranquil features marred by obviously bad memories. He Xiao was still shocked that the master had spoken so frankly and so much about such a personal subject, so he took time to collect his wits and gather his courage before speaking.

“In all of Wei, Chu Da Ren was the first person outside of my men to treat me like a human being. She didn’t absolve me—or any of us, really—of guilt, but she didn’t condemn us, either. She told me to find a purpose, and I did—although I never could’ve imagined at that time the shape that that purpose would take. At first, we thought she just wanted to use us to help Yan Xun escape from Chang’an, but when she came back for us...After that, we realized that Chu Da Ren hadn’t returned for us because of what we could give her but simply because she saw us as hers. That meant--”

A rousing chorus of haos rang out in the courtyard as Chu Da Ren used her small crossbow to shoot six bolts quickly into the center of her target. She grinned at her men, effortlessly binding them to her as easily as she’d done that first time she’d stood up for them—for him—what seemed like a lifetime ago.

“Even when Yan Xun executed my brothers because of the lies of Cheng Yuan and his own hatred of us, the last thing they saw before they died was Chu Da Ren kneeling in the mud with them and pleading on their behalf, because they were hers.” He Xiao grated out.

He took his eyes off of his general and lifted them instead to face his master.

“At that icy lake on Xiuli Mountain, she claimed us—all of us—as hers. And once she’s claimed you as hers, only the worst sort of betrayal could change that. For the first time in her life, she’s exactly where she wants to be. We all are.”

For an instant, He Xiao saw a flash of...something appear in Yuwen Yue’s eyes. But he became distracted by the sight of Chu Da Ren saying her goodbyes and heading back to the barracks to change, and by the time he turned back around, Young Master Yue’s mask was firmly back in place.

“Thank you, He Xiao. I’d better get back to Green Hills before Xing’er does so that I’ll be right where she expects me to be when she brings me my afternoon tea and greets me with what will surely be the most innocent of smiles.”

“Young Master Yue,” He Xiao said, clasping his hands in front of himself and inclining his head.

Yuwen Yue disappeared as soundlessly as he’d arrived, missing the amusing sight of Chu Da Ren hopping the Red Hills wall at the place that would give her the best cover under the late morning sun. The clash of swords rang out in the courtyard as his men actually got back into the business of training now that their beloved general was gone.

Not that there was any urgent reason to train now, but they knew full well that life in chaotic times could change faster than the speed of an arrow and require them to put their lives on the line at a moment’s notice.

Which we would—for her. He Xiao thought, smiling into the sunlight. Because she would do no less for us.

It's really beautiful @rampantwolfhound... I cried reading it.... Thank you...

  12. Thank you @40somethingahjumma  and @fallentenshi for translating. So many important pieces gone. I'm sad....  But in a way I got closure too, and really thankful for it... If only there is this original version being sold...or they add one more episode as the real ending... But strongly doubt it... This is like a battle of pride, they gave that version and that's it, we accept that or we wait until they give us season 2. (I got mood swings from anger to sadness to anger again....like a loop....sighh....)

i have watched no 1.3.4.5.6  as for no 2 i dropped it after eps 33 too draggy. it seems our taste is almost the same, just want to know how do you rate no 7.8.9.10 which one has the most romance ?

7 and 9 haven't watched. I'll recommend no 10 (Fox fall in lv), the otp is lovable. Female lead a strong and clever woman. Man lead handsome, cold, n germ phobic.  Entertaining enough.

My sunshine could be better. But too much THE SAME flashbacks keep repeating from beginning to ending of the show. Quite distracting to the point I got tired watching n left 2 last eps  unwatched. Another thing, the problem with having younger version and adult version in a series, I felt like they were not the same person/story bcs personality wise the female lead changed too much.

pshh at them acting as if the success of the drama is partially due to them >_>

So, I did enjoy it but it was ruined towards the end. They had to cut a lot of scenes due to censorship and it messed with the story a lot. If you like tomb raiding or republican dramas then this is for you. If you want to watch just for romance then just watch FMV on youtube. The otp was adorable and had ton of chemistry, but it was not the main part of the story. It is set in Republican times, it has war related stuff and some propaganda. ZLY is a guest on the show and she doesn't have that many scenes but her character is very memorable and well liked. She comes on ~ep. 11

Thank you.... Seemed like the type of drama that I  avoid :fearful:   But who knows maybe I'll like it better than a certain drama that 'had too many side stories that I hv no interest to know, male lead that need a shake up bcs couldn't quite make up his mind, female lead put in a coma for abt 18 eps, and a major cliffhanger no less' --- what were they thinking???? And now season 3 in the making with diff casts n the male lead will end up with another girl. Well, no need to watch season 3 then.
    Thanks @mrsyooknit  I'll try that ep 11 :D...

But so many pages back I think someone said that the story becone more interesting after ZLY came into the picture. Can somebody pls tell me since  what ep is it?

  17. Until last year I exclusively only liked kdramas.  Then abt November last year, a friend from Soompi MDBC forum told me she liked cdramas and recommend TJoF to me. I tried it but dropped the drama after several minutes watching bcs I thought the female lead (ZLY) was too young like 17 or 16 lol.  Until I found Boss & Me. Got hooked, really. really liiked the series. So I tried to search that main actress' other dramas that bring me back to TJoF. Rewatched it n by the end of the series cried so much my eyes got big bags that needed staying in for a bit bfr I could face anyone hahhaa.... She made me change my mind abt cdramas.

After those two I found NIF, Wei Wei and Shao Nai, Princess Weiyoung , Princess Go Go, 3L3W and several others. From all those cdramas, I like ZLY the best. She has smthing that makes me want to keep watching (she even made watching Chusen bearable in otherwise a frustrating drama overall...). In my 20+ years experience watching drama (since my ultimate Winter Sonata drama), this is my first time I like an actress this much to the point almost everyday checked out cent news to find if she will hv another dramas.

Just found this thread today. Really like your posts, guys :) thank u....

Hang on guys, get a hold of ourselves here.  The heart wants what it wants and the one that belongs to YWY wants XE and no one else will do so we better hope YX gets mad at YWY for showing up and rescuing XE before he does and we get to see the icy lake happen soon so we can see XE do her fair share of suffering thinking YWY is dead and hopefully we have more time to see XE being lovey dovey with YWY now that she has seen what she almost lost.  Seeing XE miserable will only make YWY suffer along with her so let's not hope for that.  The man has suffered long enough.  Hang on YWY, I can see the frozen lake coming into view.  Your suffering will be over soon one way or another.  Hopefully, we will see the good guy finish first.
