I had tears running down my face as I finished your version. Not only do they need to send ambulance and medics at the fan meeting, but I think every news channel throughout the world is going to report masses of people headed to hospital due to broken hearts and chest pains. What has Moon Lovers done to us? I will seriously reconsider watching another drama like this. I desperately need the something that shows a reconciliation between them. What other couples are there that were doomed? Their love is more doomed than Romeo and Juliet, at least those two got married and died together.

    LOL at the last part.

Any romantic comedy suggestions? I really need to get out of this depression mode, not healthy. I never experienced falling in love, but seeing how painful it is, despite happier and wonderful moments, if this is what it does emotionally, I feel like I rather stay single and only dream about ideal oppas. I know that love is both painful and wonderful, but I rather not. :bawling:

I thought so. Their love story is sadder, darker and more bitter in many ways than Romeo and Juliet. As HS said in Ep.10 "I am here because i can't live nor die." So and Soo can't die nor live together. Eun and SoonDeok a little bit "luckier" that they died together and so much in love. Gwangjong must stay alive for Goryeo, for the nation and HaeSoo must die for GwangJong to be able to fully function as the King of Goryeo and to go back to the future.

The sun is shining brightly that the water evaporated to be the cloud. It would take a thousand years for the cloud to fall down as rain. :(

LOL, I guess you are lucky @pass3rby, nobody can distract you. :D

I can relate with you.  Most often my late husband is away too but knowing what he likes the most keeps me out of trouble. :D  When he calls I will let him know how much I miss him, so on and so forth then when he ask what I've been up to I would share all the stuff I've watched and say I missed him even more because of them. :D:D:D   I think most husbands enjoy hearing that from their wives.  Reassuring them that we love/miss them.  I have no problem dealing with my late husband coz I basically get what I want and he support/tolerate me as long as I don't forget who is the head of the home.  It is not helpful to hide or lie either.  We just need to learn how to approach them in such a way that they can understand why we are doing the things that we enjoy.  I guess watching us happy makes them happy too.... it's just give and take.  So everybody happy!

I understand what you mean about cheating (in some extent).  Who can resist LJK's charm, anyway? :D  Some people say that cheating in a relationship consist of spending time with specific individual or engaging in specific type of contact like sleeping in the same bed with that person, etc.  Though for me cheating originates from the heart first before you and another person actually do it.  I don't consider our attraction to LJK can be considered as cheating because it is but normal to do so because he is truly attractive in so many ways, aside from being a celebrity. :D   But can you consider it cheating when it is one sided one?

The Drooling thing  :D .... well, just think about it as if one of your favorite food is in-front of you.  But since you're on a diet, you have no option but drool over it  LOLOLOLOL.  Pretty good excuse, right?

I really like the last one. :DThank you for everything you said. Indeed LJK is somehow irresistible, just like a chocolate muffin in the middle of the night when you're working late.

    LOL ....

Just make sure you don't starve him due to your addiction to drama.  Or else you'll be holding the same title as QY. :D

Well, post of most wives here makes me laugh too!  Good thing that we are able to bring joy in small ways like this.

You should all cherish and appreciate your husbands consideration guys!  You're all very fortunate that they they are still around to share with your silliness. :D Although I missed mine, he definitely is happy watching me up there.

I don't know if i am lucky or unlucky. My husband is away for two whole months, from last August to Early November. He'll be back on November 2. Just a day after MLSHR last episode. I enjoyed MLSHR and LJG alone. When he calls, I talk about is this drama :D. And he would say, "Don't you miss me?"

In a way, MLSHR helps me to go through my life when my husband is away. Although sometimes i feel like i am cheating my husband by looking at LJG in a drooling mode.:rolleyes:

    Hey you! Gwangjong!

I suspect, you dunno much about women, so lemme tell you a lil' something, yeah?

You don't like a woman? Not interested in her at all? Not thinking of making babies with her?

Then, don't go putting your face 3 freaking inches away from hers, and get all smoldery!

With that gorgeous face & mesmerizing eyes of yours, no woman can take it, okay?!

    ***sounds of ovaries exploding***

And the last thing we want is you giving Yeon-hwa a heart attack. I mean, not that we're against her death or something... but we need a slowwwww and painful death for her. Heart attack is too swift and merciful.

If could like it for 1000 times, i would have. This just made my day after all the tears and angst.

  5. I read everywhere how they hate Jung for many reasons. I don't really like the way Jung hates So although he saw with his own eyes, it was Yo who shot Eun and So just did what Eun requested. But I want to say something about Jung.

In Ep 17 he met Soo when she prayed in front of the stone shrine. He laid the bare fact in front of Soo's face. "A queen must use her family's name and the other families to support the king. That's why King Taejo got marrid as often as he did. At this rate, you will just be one of the King's many women. Is this really how you want to live?" I don't think Soo aware of the fact that if he loves the king, and the king wants to marry her, it means she would be a queen. A queen in Goryeo is just like what Jung said, and with many other requirements such as scar-less.

WangSo is wrong about one thing. He thought that being a King would make him free, free to love and marry anybody he loves, free to protect the ones he love, free from anybody's control. Hwangbo clan pushed him to marry YH is a form of 'control' over him. Not in a way Yo control him as the king's dog but it is a restraint for Gwangjong. It is restraint for him to marry somebody else. I am aware that a new King, or even president would do the "clean up." I don't have any objection for GwangJong to do that. Let alone, in Goryeo it is the clan that held the biggest power 'over' the King.

@kdramawriter might be right. It is Jung who will be able to take Soo out of the palace. But, i still keep my hope high, that Soo will die in So's arms.

I thought the dark-night-Wang So would meet the bright-sunshine-Soo just like the MOON as a fusion of the dark night with the sunlight. I begin to doubt that. Or maybe the moon wouldn't light in Goryeo tenth century, but in Seoul 21st century. I truly pray with all my heart.

@ChewyChocolate @superkoala Thank you so much for adding to my mirth today!  Love love love your posts - truly hilarious!

I was immersing once more in my favourite scene in Ep18, when So and Soo went on their date. I love how beautifully shot it was... the chemistry between them so palpable - when So and Soo enjoyed for a brief moment, complete bliss. I like little gestures like So instinctively protecting Soo from being jostled by passerbys; her telling him about how she noticed him when she was there with Chae Ryung during a similar night years ago (thank you @hitomebore08 for pointing out and providing the missing translations there). I adore how So envelopes her in his arms and kisses her cheek... and the utter contentment and love with which she looks at him in response). Every interaction was perfection... and I truly applaud LJG and IU for embodying their roles so well and making me feel like a rank outsider, daring to intrude in So and Soo's all-too-few moments of perfect happiness.

Reposting the gifs shared by @Kasmic in an earlier post, just because they are so beautiful

    cr. lavenderbyun tumblr

I removed the gif. Thank you for gifs. I watched the scene many times. I cried a river. It's so beautiful yet very heartbreaking. It's gonna be their last happy moment. (oh poor heart of mine might not be able to bear the tragedy ahead)

Ep 19 is gonna be a climax, as @40somethingahjumma said, it's gonna be explosive.

I truly hope Soo will die in So's arms. That's the only justice for them.

The reform slave reform to be done by GwangJong will be "inspired" by Chae Ryung's case and what Soo said, "Her only crime was to be born as a slave."

  7. I cried most during the lantern scene. They were so happy, and yet it was their last moment  of happiness. It's gonna be a downhill, aEp very fast one. In this scene, WangSo looked really beautiful, the most of all Wangsolicious looks from the very first episode.

I felt like wanted to throw up everytime I see YH. Especially when YH in the room with Gwangjong. I felt really sick.

I can't believe what the writer has done to them, to us.

I am gonna curl myself into a ball and weep some more.

  8. The word "wook" has turned into a verb? "Don't wook me," means don't give me promises that you can't keep.

I think in the end, in Goryeo universe, there's gonna be Gwangjong and her Queen left. Wook and Won will be sent to prison. Something will happen to Baek Ah, and maybe Woo Hee, related to Woo Hee family background and what she did when YO reigned. Ji Mong might be dead and go back to the future, Jung will leave the palace to live somewhere. Queen Yoo will live a very long and miserable life, witnessing Gwangjong's golden age from afar.

HaeSoo will die in WS' hands and go back to the future. I trully hope that Ep 20 will be dedicated to Go Ha Jin and someone from the future. I mean, the entire episode. (Wishful thinking).

About the trust issue regarding Eun and SD..... As I'm sure you can feel from my post, for me (unlike most viewers), that's the least of her supposed flaws. Given what's at stake --- the lives of two people she cares about --- it is more than forgivable that she would be unwilling to put her trust in WS at the risk of two lives. Not to mention, she knows that he would do anything to save her; so she trusts him to keep her safe, and thus, if at the risk of her life, she can't trust him to keep Eun safe. (Erm..... Am I making sense??? :sweatingbullets:) So for that particular plot-point, my main problem isn't the trust issue. My main problem lies with her (and Jung's) illogical and half-baked plan of escape. The kindest way to see it is: she's just naive and thinks that she can single-handedly get them to safety somehow. The harsher way to see it is: her focus is not on saving them; it's mainly on making sure the vision doesn't come true... on not getting the blood on her hands or WS's. She got tunnel-visioned because the vision consumed her, and in her mind, getting them away from WS became her ultimate goal.

All in all, my three biggest problems are (ranked):

    • #1 "You said you didn't need to be king as long as we were together. You're not saying it anymore."
    • #2 Hiding Jung by threatening herself (Because what I hate the most in life is using someone's love for you against that person)
    • #3 The undeveloped relationship in the two years of Mu's reign

All those scenes broke me, and right now, I am in the process of slowly rehabbing my psyche. And that post was necessary for me to do that.

@zi4r sorry to cut your post. I agree with you in many parts, especially the one i high lighted and point number 3.I thought she rejected WS several times because she wanted WS to fulfill his "destiny" to be King. She didn't want WS to abandon who he was. She was tempted to say yes, but she didn't want WS to waste all his status, future, nobility, family and life in the palace for her. But in 2 years of Mu's reign she didn't accept WS either. Marriage wouldn't hinder WS from his destiny to be King. Wang Yo had married before he committed treason and then become king.

About the trust she didn't give to WS. She should have known that life in Goryeo was harsh and solving problem alone or collaborate with not-so-strong group  was not an option. This made me really angry. Normally, i watch 4 to 5 times of each episode. I only watched Ep 15 and 16 twice: the international version and the SBS version. I can't watch Ep 15 and 16 on the part where HS did that stupid thing. I am with WS when he left HS, although there were other reasons. But HS must take some lesson from that.

Ep 16 was wrapped with HS nagging and whining about WS's decision to be king. For me, it shows that HS is moving to the opposite direction to WS. Now that the time has come, she's going to doubt WS' decision and try to pull him only for her. As @braiser101 put it, she has lost the momentum. Although i am hoping that this is the time when she would finally realize that people CHANGE, it is inevitable. But the cause and the aim of the change that what's important.

Ep.1 Go Ha Jin said that "I thought if i didn't change the people i trusted and liked wouldn't change either."

Ep 8, when she put on make up to WS she said "Therefore, i intend not to change, If you trust me first, your highness, I will not change first."

That scene in Ep.8 is a contradiction. HS said that she wouldn't change but she's changing herself and changing WangSo at the same time, literally and metaphorically.

I don't loss hope to HS yet. I still have a little trust in her. Hopes she changed the way she sees her premonition. It always has an explanation and context. And hope she will trust WangSo as much as I, and many of us here, trust him.

  11. I am so scared of my own thought.

History tends to repeat itself. I read one of you said that YH is Queen Yoo in the making. HS is gonna be CourtLady Oh. Gwangjong is gonna be Taejo. I don't think i am ready to see SoSoo separation. Ep 17 might be the last happy episode for SoSoo. :bawling:

The water might runs dry because the burning fire is too big and the cloud had risen but the rain has not fallen yet.

Its broke  my heart too. ...i realised saeguk drama with heavy weight like this will get low rate ..even though its good..

Maybe korean don't like heavy drama...maybe

I think Korean prefer literal and somehow banal drama. Something easy and do not require any further interpretation. This doesn't only happen in Korea, but worldwide. However, some works managed to be a not-just-literal and banal.

MLSHR is like a literature work. Meanwhile, today's public doesn't want to bother to find what's not been said by the dialog, by the words. It is a tendency of today's media industry. Lost the depth of a work, whether it is music, film or anything.

This industry moves so fast, it doesn't leave too much space for indepth work such as MLSHR.

I guess i am lecturing. Sorry guys.

  13. Forgive if someone has brought this up. I am trying to understand something.

Before Ep 16, HS rejected WS offers to leave the palace mainly because she did not want to interfere or change the course of history that she knew. In other words, she wanted WS to stay in the palace and fullfill his--so called--destiny to be King. NOw, in Ep 16 HS questioned WS on his decision to be king. Even after WS explain why he wanted to be king.

Ep 10 after the forced kiss, they were on the beach, WS offered him to run away. She refused. Maybe because Wang Wook this time.

Ep 12 WS offered her again to get out of the palace when he just back from his journey

Ep 12 too, WS proposed her. So they could get out of the palace.

In Ep 12 HS lived under her premonition on the future that she did not live at that moment. For me, HS and WS move to opposite direction. Nevertheless, The Earth is round, no matter how two things move to opposite direction, they will meet at one point.  It will take a long time and way for them to meet. It might take a thousand years.

Yes, of course.. me too, I actually find HS and So's longing for each other the saddest, he needed to use every fiber in his body to lie but barely manage to be successful on denying her, too heartbreaking but I love the moment he breaks down.. gee they both nailed this episode exceptionally. With the highlighted part, you took my thoughts and made in to words crazy-monkey-emoticon-003.gif Day by day is no joke, she also didn't wait idly.. she traces his handwriting everyday enough for an illiterate like CY to notice and I bet she also never had a peaceful sleep during those years. And the feels of every time she runs in pursuit of So is fluttering but there's also a pinch in the heart moreover when So didn't even gave her a glance while serving the tea towards Yo.. but turns out that he can only suppress it for merely a minute.

I especially love the back hug scene.. The moment she caught So in their place, the jig is up. He still love her, it's always been that way to begin with. and that every thing he said before is driven by the mouth adherent by the heart. Still the back hug was the highlight as it is now Soo who's aggressive and obsessive yearning of So.. and it shows that she's not just longing for his presence but his touch too.. her heart can't hold it any longer;where the heart goes the body follows that she jumps at him and hugged him from his back, not just that but she hugged him tightly as if she were saying, I missed you badly, don't go, I won't let you go, please. But he once again gather every ounce of his strength to held it in; and she shed tears, so did I crying1-onion-head-emoticon.gifI love that she's now clinging onto him greatly.. and that is so desperate to win back So but more importantly realizing how much she love So. I know she said it before their break up but trust me it's much more greater now that she can't even bare So not looking at her, again it's been that way even before (after Eun's bday, first time he sulk at her and from the beginning that she just can't manage to ignore him for any situation).. just took her long enough to grasp it herself. depressed1-onion-head-emoticon.gif

Me toooo wow1-onion-head-emoticon.gifIn that case we don't have a choice but to picture it ourselves.. My mind goes like this, of course his beloved brother, MY Baek Ah :phew: would visit him there, and Baek Ah as the ever reliable shipper will give him a look hesitating if he'll speak about HS's condition in the palace, but he see that So is dying to ask him but is desperate not to, and feel that even by just a word, he might run off in her arms. Thus he goes by the sea every time, and god we know what HS's make up meant to him and why he applies it everyday lonely-onion-head-emoticon.gif Oh GOD they just simply want to live with each other peacefully, why can't fate be merciful and give them that? desperate1-onion-head-emoticon.gif Their doomed lovers but they keep fighting against that fate even the universe acts crazy to help them wow1-onion-head-emoticon.gif

The deep kiss was just perfect.. no words can spell out that kiss perfectly but I still wanted to try embarrassed1-onion-head-emoticon.gif And it's exactly the answer that HS longed for. The SBS version is total thumbs up, I like how the transition of events takes place..

First kiss: "Screw it, I love you so much"
Wiping off her tears: "I'm sorry, Those eyes.. I feel the same way."
Second kiss: "Where their passion finally met. Her hands climbing up to his nape, pulling him closer, kissing him fervently, so did he."

You're not alone with that, Even the OSTs makes me tear up especially the 13th one.. because it's about farewell my love. Some clips in the trailer that hasn't even happened yet but my heart is dead scared for the heartache that'll cause me.. My heart is torn apart whenever I keep having the thought of these: especially the photo of IU, God.. I'm starting to tear up again. better wrap this up. I can't even imagine how Monday will ever be the same again for me.. It's the first time that I grew fond of Mondays.

But let's not think about that for now, let's cherish every bit of their happiness before the tragic takes turn. We gonna have the LANTERN SCENE, again repeat to self LANTER SCENE *freaks out* next week? perhaps? monday? tuesday? or if SBS goes shitty again it'll be after next week. Crap embarrassed2-onion-head-emoticon.gif I'm so excited to see YH, Wook and Jung's reaction with HS and WS's love in the palace.. admire2-onion-head-emoticon.gif

    ---

P.S I'm sorry I got too excited shy-onion-head-emoticon.gifthat I replied back with an essay sweating-onion-head-emoticon.gif

I read every single word. And I cried even more. This is what this Drama has done to us. It's poetic, that it is open for interpretation. It does not lecture us with dialogs. It talks to us with a language that many times i failed to understand. Thank you for providing paraphrases of the poet. I'll cry some more.

I know how you feel, Chingu! The previous Kdramas that I have watched are more lighthearted and predictable. They target a teenage/female audience (e.g. Descendants of the Sun, Boys Over Flowers) so it just leaves you with a mushy feeling. Scarlet Heart is just seriously stressing me out! I mean that in a good but frustrating way. I've never been so invested in a Kdrama before! I know you all know how I feel every time we watch an episode:

    1. Anticipation, excitement, and heart thumping when starting an episode

    2. Swooning over LJG, as usual. Getting lost in his eyes, his face, his voice, his PERFECTION, as usual.

    3. Constantly checking the video loading bar to see if it's halfway already since tbh we don't want that episode to end but we also can't wait for the development or plot twist in that certain episode

    4. "Holy crapola what's that OST SOMEONE HALP"

    5. Gape like an idiot at the ending scenes of that episode because SINCE EPISODE 1 EVERY ENDING HAD BEEN A TORTUROUS CLIFFHANGER

    6. Watch the next episode preview with big eyes because you just can't believe what you're seeing

    7. Scratch your head for approximately 30 minutes while drinking tea or an extra hot cappuccino because you just don't understand life anymore

    8. Ask yourself for the nth time why you're following this drama. Have constant monologues like, "Why am I following this? This will be the death of me, I swear. I feel like I lost 10 years stressing about that episode and what will happen next. Am I a masochist?"

    9. Try to sleep but you know you can't so you just browse the forums and treat it as your sleeping sheep LOL

    :grimace:

We suffer the same problem should i be happy or?

I always think of WS as a separate entity from LJG though, because I don't see any traces of LJG on WS at all, that's how good LJG is. I think of WS as a real person, I laugh with him, cry with him, and feel angry when he's tortured. It's kinda scary how invested I get over a fictional character lol. I can't find remedy of WS withdrawal by looking at LJG's IG because again, they're two completely different person. LJG really brings life into WS and makes sure he leaves a sweet "scar" in our heart and mind.

    I agree with you.

That's why i think, many times, no matter how hard i shipped SoSoo, i felt like i've betrayed Hae Soo. When it is a close up of Wang So, i feel like he's talking to me. I tried to roam the cyber world and look for LJG pictures. It feels different. LJG does not bring that emotion and that feel, i can't even describe it. Many times, i thought "What is Wang So doing right now?" I thought i was crazy. But somehow, i am willing to endure this.

I really like that sentence of yours.
