  1. Whoa, today’s episode was nail biting. To castrate or not to castrate, that is the question.

Liked the part, where the show is clearly depicting that public is getting blood thirsty. Scary scene was were the kids were playing the flogging scene.

By the way, does anyone get a vibe that maybe Isaac is not that great of a brother?  Maybe it was his plan to burn the church but something went wrong?

Somehow seems that SunAh is building a women only in power nation. Maybe she feels that ladies can be easier puppets to string along or more challenging?

  2. Not an open ending... I need closure:tears::tears::tears:...

the one theme that was really emphasized today was live in the present... be content with what you have because tomorrow anything can happen...

it was heartbreaking to see how the OTP were pining for each other, how WJ s didn't expect anything from HS, how BA was trying to console WJ, how WW finally realized who he really loved... all regrets...

my dear fan fiction writers, please continue writing and give me a happy ending. Reality itself is full of pain and regrets...at least you guys can give us a happy ending...

  3. Thank you guys for being together in this journey. It was a great experience to be in this forum. We all had our different point of views but thankfully we respected them even though we might have not agreed with all of them. Thank you live recappers. I have no idea how I would have managed office without knowing what was happening every Monday And Tues. Plus the last few episodes were so heart wrenching that at least the recapping warned me in advance what to expect while watching the show... most of all I will miss the roll calling... Imagine almost everyone over here is not even a Korean and still we all are really nuts about this show...Bravo everyone!!!

  4. @kdramawriter totally agree with you... in fact this relationship shows us exactly why a woman must not sacrifice her entire principles for love. If she does that, that love will consume her leaving her desperate for a way out.

Its like the movie the way we were. The heroine does everything do accommodate the hero s beliefs. But at the end they had to split up only to meet agains with their respective partners. The sentence she tells the hero says it all---Your girl is lovely, Hubbell.

  5. You can't change people. In fact this is the very same mistake people in love or when they marry make and conveniently forget why they loved their partner in the first place. This is the same mistake that kept happening in HS and WS relationship. HS thought that she could change WSs tyrant nature and WS wanted HS to be only by his side. Both forgot that it was their very nature(WS s relentless pursuit of HS and ready to die for her nature and HS s empathetic nature to WS) that attracted each other.

At least HS did not take up the offer of being a second queen. Like WW, she could have justified and lied to herself stating that she needed power to protect herself and her loved ones. She was strong enough to realize that had she stayed longer, she would have eventually hated WS and who knows maybe even turned out to be a worser character than his mother.

By the way, I cannot help but wonder, how on earth is the director going to give us a happy ending? And no    A fresh new WS in the future is not the answer and neither is meeting in the museum and crying over meeting a stranger WS an answer too...

  6. Letting go... they say if you love someone, you set them free. If they come back to you they were yours always. If they never came back, they weren't yours to begin with.

I think this will be the final lesson HS gives WS. Most probably, we are all going to see something heartbreaking along with WS when he goes through her belongings after she passes away.

  7. Did WS actually understand HS? I mean what did he actually think by offering to make HS concubine n then make her a second queen when a kid comes in the picture? HS wanted to leave the palace but why was WS being obsessed with keeping her with him when she clearly said so? Imagine if she had a kid then... WS would have told her-ok you go but leave my child

If she had wanted power, none of this would have happened. She could have married the king in the first place. I understand WS was desperate but the HS he loved didn't want any of this in the first place.why did he alienate her even more?

  8. As viewers, we are forgetting one thing. We get to see the show from a 360degree angle. But all the other characters don't. Imagine from BA s point of view. The guy loved two ladies in his whole life, the first he couldn't be with her due to his family and the second thanks to politics and how WS played behind the scenes. Obviously he is not going to be reasonable.(would any of us be?) Next we got HS who is nearly killing herself with guilt and pain. First she sees CR being cruelly punished and the true culprit being scotfree and calling her crazy instead. Then she knows WW was framed and when she pleads for his life, WS is actually thinking of ways to punish WW even more cruelly. At this point all HS wants is to be away from this politics and scheming and live in peace so that she can love WS from far away.

WS wanted to save his people. What he should have realized was that he also had to pay a price for it. Throughout the show that was one theme that was emphasized upon. HS cut herself so that she wouldn't have to marry the king but for that she had to lose her noble status and was nearly turned into a slave. WW protected YW for her wrongdoings but he had to sacrifice HS. WY became the king by killing his his brothers but not only did that make him crazy but also he realized how ... his mother really was. Lady Oh sacrificed herself so that HS could live.

Now the only ones remaining are Won, YH and WS to pay their price. Yes YH has betrayed her family but I don't think that she actually is in pain for that. (I hope they show her suffering in a manner that suits her) Wons payment will come once the king frames in another incident and irony would be nobody would be there to save him(do you think HS might have stepped in?). WS is already suffering from BA and HS leaving him but what would hit the nail would be not HS s death but the fact that she really loved him and there was no one else in her heart and most probably him not being at her side to send her off...

  9. It's going to be hatred, misunderstanding and regret now... we have all seen the honeymoon stages of love... but what happens after happily ever after? Do they actually remain happy?

The show has shown us how HS and WS were willing to fight against the world for their love. Now it's HS s turn to stand against WS to fight for their love and her peace of mind. She must ve never realized that she would have to do it someday. But we have to really applaud her for her courage. She is going to save WW and leave with WJ so that WS can rule in peace and with a firm hand. It takes guts to be away from the love of your life. Somehow the words that WS uttered about not using the boat in the palace is going to be used by her.

Regret is one of the most powerful emotions we have. It can give us strength or break us apart. I cannot help but wonder---with HS s departure how are the princes going to live with their regret?

  10. One thing I do love about this series is that HS doesn't become the traditional heroine. She stands up for what she believes in even if it is front of WS. It takes great strength to stand up against your enemies and greater strength against your friends/loved ones(one of my fav lines from Harry Potter). The crazy queen may have deserved what she got in the end but HS was right to point out that because of WS, Jung couldn't be with their mother at the end. What she is also worried about is that this will cause a further drift between the brothers. Even WY had to acknowledge that the girl had some spunk in her. So all of the sudden, if WS becomes obsessed with her and tries to restrict her, she will break free. In the beginning, she was ready to die rather than be the kings woman. So WS knows unconsciously that she will leave him---thus the nightmares...

  11. It's true that one of the reason why WS became a king was for HS. But then again, he wanted to stop the bloodshed between his brothers. The only way to do that was to take charge and become a leader aka the king. Yes, HS s death will devastate WS but I think he will live on thinking about the greater good ---the nation and his family.

Maybe, just maybe WS and the other princes will be cordial to each other after HS passes away. They might never go back to those carefree days but they might just tolerate each other just to avoid more bloodshed. Maybe that might be HS s last gift to her princes...

  12. I guess WW really thought that HS would return back to him. As usual he is busy blaming the whole world instead of calling a spade a spade. Then again, he must have really loved her. After all where there is love, there is hate.(c version, you really made me lose it in that letter:tears:)

But to be honest, I really hope that WW would really repent over his actions. If prince Yo had but a fleeting moment of regret, how do you think WW would be once the truth hits home? It would be an irony when he recalls Lady Ohs last words to him.

Its not easy to let someone go. Especially when you know that person was the light of your darkness. Of course you shouldn't go all Darth Vader too...

I cannnot help but wonder, how is WS going to be all possessive about HS in the next three episodes? In the c version, we saw how the fourth prince convinced the heroine to return back to him with the help of the servant pleading with her.(if you don't come back, the king will beat me!!!) what is going to happen in 3 episodes?

  13. Missed opportunities, broken hearts, crushes, heartbreaks, death and growing up... one thing I really love about this show is that they really emphasize on the fact to live your present to the fullest because you never know what will happen in the future. How many of us lose sight of this while we are busy being pressured about our daily problems and worrying about the future? There is a famous saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present...
