You haven't answered the question I asked.
There are a lot of assumptions in your analysis..but i do appreciate the perspective.
But again, should he say yes or no? And why?
He will not give up the throne for her. His argument would be why can't I have both?
And again, he does have his family to think about. End of the day, he needs the power to take care of his family

wow thread is on fire. BTW putting dialogue about killing part aside, did u guys notice he also said to his " u noticed/knew for who i am" or something like that. So he is not going to pretend. I didn't quite understand what he meant by that?
Got the dialog "u saw me for what I was. There was no need for explanation or excuses"
Can someone explain this to me
Remember the episode when he is covered in blood and was attacking the stone piles. Any normal person would have ran away from there but HS tried stopping him and pointed out that he was hurt and asked if he was hurt else where. Then later on even when she gives him a list of not to do s, she also gently tells him to take care which no one has ever told him before. He even pushed her away cos of the mask removal but even then she still went to him with the bb cream solution. That's what he must have meant

Hypothetical question
What i understand from sageuks is that when a prince or a nobleman is taken down (killed) , his entire household including servants etc are killed. because back in time, they are his people (loyal to him) and if left alive can plan a revolt.
So, if HS asks Wook to choose between throne and herself..
1. If Wook chooses HS - would that be a ethical choice?
2. If Wook doesn't choose HS - does that mean his love was true or that he wasn't serious about her?
I think most probably what WW would want is to have both the cake and eat it at the same time. He wants the girl and the throne. HS is the love of his life and according to him right now, he needs the power of the throne in order to protect her. But the irony is that in order to get the throne, he will have to show his true colors and in a way it might scare HS as she has always thought of him as gentle

What was interesting in this episode was that HS's eyes are slowly being opened now. Even when WS is confessing his love for her, she stands her ground and tells him that she is in love with someone else. She just had a vision where she saw him killing Eun, but that didn't stop her from hiding the truth from WS. In the c version, Ruoxi had never told the Fourth prince about her previous relationship with the eighth. He had suspected her with 13th and the 14th but not the eighth. Unconsciously, HS still trusts WS and now maybe she might start questioning her visions.
With WW, she has started to fear whether his attitude will change after marriage. Even though she doesn't want to admit it, when Lady Oh points out that he will definitely change and tells her about the king and herself, HS is troubled. At the end of the day, WS was the one who took her away from the palace just to calm her down and WW has still not delivered on his promise. Which is why she has not thrown away the pin.
With WS willingly drinking the poison, I cannot help but wonder--- how is HS going to react? Will she start being close to him because of guilt? Or responsibility? Or not being able to feel at all?

By the way, will the rain scene happen in ep 10? Or will it be in 11?

While Queen Yoo might not be aware of the relationship, Yeon Hwa has some hints and everyone has some understanding on how So feels about Soo.
As for poison, I don't think they need to kill CP, just establish he is not worthy and force king to declare an alternative as CP. My guess is the poison would either killed or made CP sick. CP's skin sickness would have weakened his immune system and constitution making him more vulnerable to poison than So who was healthy and probably had one of the best constitutions amongst the princes given his harsh life. It impacts him but does not kill him.
I have a feeling that when So cools down, he insists on taking So to the beach and give her the gift he got. Soo goes despite her apprehension and reluctantly. WW and Jung sees them return together and sees a quiet/unhappy Soo on horse and assumes that So is pressuring her into a relationship. He decides to go and ask the king to be allowed to married to her at the right opportunity much to the frustration of Yeon Hwa. He conveys the same to Soo when he sees her later but instead of her usual exuberance, she is withdrawn which worries WW and makes him feel powerless and insecure. Meanwhile Yeon Hwa (historically she was very knowledgeable about poisons) joins hands with the queen to get Soo out of the way. It serves multiple purposes, harm CP, nip Wook-Soo marriage dream in bud, remind So as to who holds the power in palace and deliver a major emotional set-back to him.
Meanwhile WW forms an alliance with Yo and they try to take out So. The attempt does not succeed but warns So. He confronts his mother who tells him about her plot and challenges him to stop her. So is shocked next day to see the maid in plot is Soo. He does the only thing he can, he drinks the poison to save the CP and at the very least save Soo's life.
Soo is punished and tortured while everyone looks on helpless since speaking on her behalf implicates them. So is recovering all this time. Eventually lady Oh takes the blame on herself and we have Soo begging for mercy in rain while So supports her.
What is interesting to me is -
1)Everyone knows and understands that lady Oh and Soo had no interest in harming the CP and they have had many opportunities to do this past if they wanted to. Odds are that everyone understands who the conspirators are but still innocents are punished to maintain appearances.
2)Does Wook ever realize the role his sister played in the conspiracy and how does he react to it?
3)So would have managed to win even more of king and CP's favor than ever before after his sacrifice, in someways this incident would change the dynamics in the palace completely.
4)Does Soo ever realize how Wook household is involved in this conspiracy that results in almost death for So, her torture and lady Oh getting entangled in the plot? What is her reaction to it?
Thats a very good summary that you have written...
Just a few comments on my end
1. That's how the palace worked and which is exactly what everyone but HS was pointing out. Without support and a royal backing, you cannot survive in the palace. Remember what happened in the earlier episodes? The king knew that the queen was behind the earlier assassination plot but still he is choosing to keep a blind eye or rather keep your enemies closer approach.
2. He may have not known it earlier but he definitely would know it later on. But by then...
3. To a certain extent, yes WS would have gathered support but then again if he rescues HS, how will the king be happy with him? Isn't that going against the all mighty King?
4. Bingo. That has to be the breaking point for her. Plus the part where WW keeps not delivering his promise to save her would be the tie breaker.

The saddest part is at the end, most of the characters are going to realize that fighting for the throne wasn't worth it. Everyone is going to lose something precious and know that whatever it was they were fighting for(to protect loved ones, to be the apple of your mothers eye, revenge...) except for that everything else will happen and make them miserable for the rest of their lives...

But Wang So drank the poison to save her if she was going to be punished even if the CP didn't drink it why did Wang So go this far then ? gotta wait till Monday to find out I guess
I think it's because WS must have thought that he would get the antidote in time thereby helping both parties to escape death. Plus if anything had happened to the crown prince, there is no way that HS can escape from death. Though he could have just dropped the tea cup or something instead of drinking it... Then again the plot has to go on...

One of the greatest thing about this scene in the c version, was that, even though there were hardly any dialogues between the otp, you could feel the intensity of their stares. She finally tells him, that she understands his intentions and accepts his thoughts. Later on when the eighth and 14th prince goes to her, the director shows the relationship. With eighth, her first love had moved on and was urging her to take care and the 14th who hid and bought food for her showed his thoughtfulness and that he d take care of her no matter what.
As the earlier posts have pointed out, this is exactly where HS starts to mature and realizes what exactly is going on... If WW had anything to do with this plot, she is going to break off all ties to him and start growing on her own... And the tables will turn in HS-WS relationship, where WS will be the one reassuring her that no matter what happened, he will always be there for her

I feel Haesoo is receiving too much flak which she does not deserve in my opinion.
Till now all her actions are consistent to our regular KDrama Heroine, if we make a checklist of basic traits of KDrama heroine
1)Selfless - Check
2)Feisty - Check
3)High Self Esteem - Check
4)Thinks she can handle everything on her own - Check
5)Thinks she is responsible for everyone she cares about - Check
6)Blames herself for not stopping every single hardship that the people she care about face - Check
7)Actively tries to stop anything bad from happening to her loved ones irrespective of what happens to her - Check
8)Never thinks that her own good intentions might backfire on her and create a bigger mess - Check
So you can see Hae Soo is no different from regular KDrama Heroine.... so I am surprised why she is being singled out... for being exactly what she is supposed to be by the writer
Totally agree... What HS needs right now is a time out, big time. She needs to gather her thoughts and think all that she went through ever since she time travelled to the past. Maybe it will happen during her 'prison time'?

Sometimes doing nothing is the best course of action. But now HS cannot step away. She is too involved with WS and WW. Even if she tries to pull away from them, they will push their different ways to her. And regardless what she does, tragedy is going to strike. Her one sentence during the panic attack to WW will come to haunt her back in the later part of the episode. And that would be stepping stone for breaking up with WS.
At the end of the day, you can't help but wonder---what would have happened if HS didn't get the promonitions? Would she still be with WW? Would WS let her be with WW? Or would WW let his jealousy ruin the relationship and end up fighting for the throne just out of spite? Either way wouldn't HS be root cause for the fall out between the brothers?

To take action or not to take action, that is the biggest dilemma that Hae Soo faces now... She has to now be very cautious as to what she does. In the beginning, she might not realize it but towards the end, once she sees the brutality around her, she might do something drastic so that everything would just end and she could go in peace.
The parents didn't have a peaceful married life and they are taking it out on the children. Whoever they can sacrifice, they are doing it just so that they can prove a point. Problem is there won't be any end to this cycle as the brothers end up fighting each other and maybe realize in vain towards the end that none of these really mattered. All everyone needs is to have a good and a loving family...

Will the rain scene happen? The one where Ruoxi kneels down for the 13th in the rain?

I have a question about the WS in the C-version? Which WS is more aggressive? The Korean one or the Chinese one? Whether it being getting the throne or Haesoo ?
More than aggressive, in the c version the 4th prince is ruthless... Come what may, he will achieve his goal... Sad part is even though he started to aim for the throne, In order to protect his loved ones, at the end of the day, he had only the throne with him...

They say that for a relationship to grow, the lovers have to go through fire. Even though Hae Soo knew that WS had killed people to survive, thanks to her visions, the penny just now only dropped on her... She now has to stay with a killer(in her eyes) and somehow make him 'good' and give up on Ww. This will be the starting point for losing her innocence. On the other hand, because of her pushing away, Ww may misunderstand and end up giving in to his dark side---allying with the wrong brother and fighting for the throne.

That could definitely be a possibility and would be AN EXCELLENT TWIST. It would definitely make HS question her visions' credibility around the circumstances behind the action she sees. Not to mention, we don't actually see WS kill 10th prince wife (actually are we even certain that's his wife? The outfit makes me wonder about that) while we see Eun with two arrows in him.And then the biggest irony would be by then because of Hae Soo's promonitions, not only would all hell would break loose but also no one would listen to her requests that she was mistaken....
Do you think Hae Soo will end up taking Lady Ohs place? That way the triangle love story would continue till the end of the series

Hi...I have been following all your posts... So many new insights...Thanks everyone...
Do you think that maybe just maybe WS was only helping the 10th prince to pass away swiftly? It could be that someone else attacked him and WS was only helping to relieve the 10th prince's pain?

If you are asking if he purely loves her, my answer right now would be yes. Like many of the earlier posts mentioned by the other members, he is taking too much time in reaching a decision. His ability to not take action at the right time will cost him a lot...
